What I Wore Wednesday

Three weeks in a row, GO ME!

WEDNESDAY:

It was one of those nasty days that only March can bring. I was tempted to wear my sweats for a 3rd day in a row (or 4th, if you count that I wore them to work the nursery at church on Sunday night) but I was inspired from reading all the WIWW posts that I decided to go the whole nine yards. I jumped in the shower and prettied myself up and put on real clothes. I swear I was more productive that way. Perhaps the Fly Lady was right . . . (yes, I even put on my shoes!)

what I wore wednesday

The sweater is from the Gap and, the gray embellished T is from the Loft Outlet. The jeans are Citizens, the shoes are Privos and the bag is Orla Kiely.

The bracelet was a gift from JanMary a few years back. I always pull it out in the springtime because it goes so well with my Orla Kiely bag, and with all the coral and green in my wardrobe.

I like the contrast of the gray with the coral. I’ve never put these two pieces together before, but I think I’ll be wearing them together again. Next time I think I’ll add some bigger earrings. I feel like the outfit needs one more accessory. I didn’t wear a lot of makeup because I only had preschool drop-off/pick-up that day. Otherwise, I was just working from home.

THURSDAY:

Clearly coral is my happy color. I love this sweater with denim. (Okay, what do I NOT love with denim?) But I like this sweater a lot. I picked it up at the Banana Republic Outlet a few years ago, and it’s great for this in-between weather with the 3/4-length sleeves.

Same bag, same jeans, and same bracelet. I chose the embellished flats rather than my Privos to dress it up a bit, and I added my Blissdom necklaces from Lisa Leonard and Vintage Pearl. I can’t remember where I went that day — maybe the mall?

FRIDAY:

Friday is the day I went to the beach. The coral theme continues.

I brought a black top to wear out to dinner that night, but once I got there, it seemed to… well, black. The coral sweater that I wore on the car ride down there seemed more appropriate for the beach, so I just threw on my favorite Joe’s bootcut jeans with the flap pockets and a pair of platform sandals.

I love my Studio Jewel earrings and necklace with this outfit — they added just enough fun. And, of course, my JanMary charm bracelet.

SATURDAY:

I spent Saturday shopping at Rehoboth Beach. It wasn’t nearly as warm as Friday and I was chilly in this open-knit gray sweater. I could have used a trench to break the wind.

The sweater is from Banana Republic, and the T is from the LOFT Outlet. As you can see, the hotel did not have a full length mirror. I wore black ballet flats, but I switched them out for a cute pair of sparkly silver wedge Reef flip-flops that I purchased at the shops.

Hey, I didn’t spend $45 on a pedicure to hide them in ballet flats! Ha.

My photo taking went down hill after that. I meant to take a photo of my Sunday outfit, but I never got around to it. It was basically this (photo taken at Blissdom).

I spent Monday in my sweats, battling a supposed gluten exposure, and Tuesday I did actually put myself together but I didn’t get a picture.

Actually, today is Tuesday, although this will post on Wednesday, and I’m too lazy to get up and get a picture. I did manage to get out of my sweatpants and into jeans, but I compromised with one of my trusty tank-and-hoodie ensembles. Look, whaddya want? I only left the house to go to the grocery store and to take my son to baseball practice, for which I didn’t even get out of the car. So I think putting on jeans and real shoes was quite an accomplishment, thankyouverymuch.

And then head over to the WIWW headquarters, The Pleated Poppy, where you will surely be inspired and encouraged to get out of those sweatpants and into some real clothes. Go ahead! Your husband (and the checkout clerk at the market) will thank you.

  2. I heart that coral color! Also loving that bracelet. I’m enjoying “shopping” in my own closet. I think the CAbi event inspired me to mix things up more!

  3. Imagine you going to mall! Couldn’t have been. heh
I love that coral sweater on you. And I love how you look like you’re winking at us in the one photo. 😉

  4. The coal looks really great on you! You wear my style too (jeans LOL) so it’s nice to see pics of what you wear so I can dress myself.

And, I’ve been reading WIWW posts for MONTHS now and it still hasn’t inspired me to get dressed if I’m staying home Hehe.

  5. Wow!!! You have such great style. Each photo I would nod and think “yup, love it.” And the looks just got better and better. My favorites are your dress (love the pattern) and your Orla Kiely bag…I’ve always gushed over that thing!!

  6. Okay, I’m loving the WIWW posts!! And I have to tell you your photography skills are incredible! How do you take such great pics of yourself in a mirror – I can never do that??

  7. Lovely to see the bracelet again!

I saw someone in Belfast with the same bag last week, and remembered I’d made you the bracelet to match! I still make those, but my most popular bracelets at the moment are my knitted wire cuffs.

You seem to look great, no matter what you are wearing 🙂 And I agree, great self portraits.

      1. You’re wearing a beautiful bracelet! Once again I read your blog too early in the morning and forgot St. Patty’s Day was on Thursday. 🙂

  8. You look so sinkin’ adorable in all of your outfits! The coral color looks great on you!!! I do have to admit too, when I get dressed I do seem to get more accomplished around the house!

  9. Go you, indeed! Loving the coral and that cute dress. You are inspiring me to start dressing in actual clothes and wearing actual makeup. Oh who am I kidding, never gonna happen. Youare inspiring me to want to though. Lol

  10. Definitely love the coral, the bag, and the dress. The earrings looked cool from very far away. 🙂 I’m definitely a fan of big earrings. I’m loving the bright colors of the spring line.

Do you find that you’re more inclined to do the jewelry knowing that you’ll have to take a picture of it for the blog?

    1. Actually I usually do wear jewelry. I wore the same set yesterday, with jeans and a sweatshirt hoodie. But then there are weeks that I leave my diamond studs in forever. So I guess it comes and goes. I don’t wear bracelets around the house b/c they interfere with typing and stuff.
