YAY! Another Way to Tie An Oversized Scarf! #FashionFriday

Last Sunday afternoon was beautiful, so my husband and I went out to take pictures. I’m so excited that I found another fun way to tie an oversized scarf. I think this is my favorite yet.

In case you missed it, I posted 3 easy ways to tie a blanket scarf last week. After I published that post, I found this amazing video on Facebook that shows you how to tie a scarf in a gazillion different ways. This is the “Celebrity Knot.” It shows at 00:25 if you want to see for yourself.

Look, how cute is the finished product!?!

You can do this with any shape scarf — square or rectangle (mine is a rectangle.) It will also work with a more traditional thin scarf (at least, that is what she’s using in the video; I haven’t tried it.)

I picked up this teal sweater at LOFT last weekend when they were having a 50% off sale. This is the 2015 version of a traditional crewneck sweater. The side slits and basketweave knit keep it modern. It’s rather plain worn on its own, but it creates a great palette for a scarf or statement necklace. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. I’m always between sizes at LOFT, but I wanted to allow room for shrinkage so I went with a medium.

Fall Fashion: How to Tie An Oversized Scarf

I wore destructed black jeans and black ankle boots to keep the look casual. The bag is from LeTote, and the earrings and bracelets are Stella & Dot.

The ankle boots are super comfortable. I bought them last year at The Walking Company and then didn’t get to wear them much because of my foot injury. They’re coming in handy this year, though. The subtle western inspired styling is fun and makes them great for casual outfits.

Fall Fashion: Slashed Black Jeans with Blanket Scarf

These jeans are insane, I know. I did manage to get them on sale, but if I didn’t have this blog, I doubt I’d have kept them. I feel a little silly wearing shredded jeans out where I live, but at the same time, I’m having fun with them.

I’ve decided to start adding prices to my product links so y’all know what you’re getting into. Ha! I’ve seen other bloggers doing this, and I find it helpful, personally. It’s a bit of extra work, so let me know if you like it or not.

  1. That is another gorgeous blanket scarf. I love how you tied it. That dark green sweater is superb. Fantastic Fall look.

    Welcome by. =)

Have a great Halloween weekend! <3 Ada.

  2. I LOVE that you’re listing the prices and also sharing what sizes you’re wearing too. Both are so helpful when deciding whether or not to click and having a better idea of what size to order if I do want to make a purchase. Thank you for your extra time! I appreciate it 🙂

  3. Great color choice of sweater…..looks good on you. The scarf has so many versatile colors and you style it well 🙂

  4. Having the prices listed will be VERY nice! It will save us (lazy) readers from having to click on every link to find the price.

Love this scarf–it’s more versatile than I would’ve thought! And this celebrity knot looks really good! I like how it’s both contained but still shows the volume. Does that even make sense?? 🙂

  5. Love seeing the prices and sizes! Wish I could wear some of these fall looks but it’s still way too hot here in Florida!

  6. Love the outfit — and the prices listed with the links. Thank you! I appreciate and shop your links. Have a great wknd!

  7. This is definitely my favorite way that you’ve tied a blanket scarf. Also, love the prices with the links! Thanks!!

  8. I appreciate you taking the extra time to include prices. Thanks for the video! I have several scarves but have been at a loss on how to tie them to look cute and fashionable.

  9. Pretty scarf, and the video is amazing.
I also love that sweater as a stand alone piece. Nice open neckline and gorgeous teal color!
Thanks for including prices. The more info the better.

  10. Jo-Lynne, I too, really like the scarf tied that way. I can’t wait for it to get much cooler here in GA so I can wear a scarf and not have my neck get soaking wet. Adding the prices is very helpful, but if it takes a lot of extra time, I say don’t do it.

    Thanks!

    1. It’s not that big a deal. 🙂 I’m just glad to know it’s helpful. I saw another blogger doing that, and I thought it made so much sense. I use her posts to shop from, so I found I really like knowing what I’m getting into when I click. 😉 Plus, I like to also let people know what I paid, b/c I often buy on a good deal, and then I feel awkward linking to a super pricey piece. I mean, yeah, I spend a lot on clothes, but I don’t spend as much as it appears! HA!

  11. Love this scarf and the color of the sweater. THe jeans look cute on you. I’m in between S & Med at Loft frequently too…so frustrating sometimes!!

  12. I had to watch the video a couple of time to get some ideas. Some of those I have used before, but there were some new ones, too. 🙂 I like the prices with the links.
