YEAR IN REVIEW: HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2019

Happy Monday, friends! I cannot believe it, but it’s time to write my 2019 Year In Review.

This is where I highlight some of my best moments, favorite outfits, and popular blog posts from the past year.

After surviving 2018, a year that brought many changes for our family as well as my business, I felt like there wasn’t going to be much to say about 2019… but I found plenty!

I hope you enjoy looking back over 2019 with me…

YEAR IN REVIEW: HIGHLIGHTS FROM 2019

By the way, I recently rounded up my 20 Favorite Outfits from 2019, so I didn’t repeat those here. Be sure to check out that post, if you missed it!

JANUARY

January started off with a bang as far as my business goes, but I’m learning that’s the cycle of things. I guess people are all inside on their computers, so why not read blogs?

We moved into this house in the summer of 2018, and I spent most of that fall and last winter updating the house and making it our own. My most popular post last January was my Foyer/Living/Dining Room Reveal.

Trailing behind that were Purge Your Closet, an older post that I republished on New Year’s Day, and (shocker) a Try-On Haul!

My favorite post to research and write was my Fashion Sneaker Review.

Happily, I’m still loving my final choice — my white Veja Esplar kicks.

Also in January, I organized my basement storage area… it’s already a disaster again, but at least I have the framework in place. One of the tasks on my to-do list this week is to get my holiday stuff put away, and get all of those bins back on the shelves.

I also took a quick trip to Maine last January to visit my mom and grandfather. Mom and I stayed at the lake, which is gorgeous covered in ice.

FEBRUARY

In February, I traveled to Arizona for a work conference and worked with a local photographer while I was there to capture some spring outfit photos.

I also shared my Laundry Room Makeover and Master Bedroom Closet Reveal.

At that point, Phase One of our decorating projects were complete here at the new house, and we took a break from house-related projects for a while.

My most popular post of the month was How to Create An Interesting Outfit

and A Few of My Favorite Things was a close runner-up.

MARCH

March brought us 26 Days of Spring Fashion, and I think my favorite post that month was this spring jumpsuit outfit, mainly because it’s a different look for me. Plus, the lighting in this picture is really cool. (I was freezing, by the way!)

Paul turned 50, and I hosted a big party with friends here at the house. A friend took this picture for us before the party started.

Later in the month, the girls and I met my parents at Disney World… my dad looks miserable, but he really does smile!

It was fitting that my most popular post that month was What I Packed for my Disney Vacation.

Soon after that, I came down with a case of vertigo, which lasted over a month and caused us to cancel our trip to Austin, TX. Paul and I had been really excited about our couple’s getaway, but it clearly wasn’t meant to be.

On the plus side, it gave us more time to spend with his sister and family, who had come down to stay with our kids.

APRIL

In April, we celebrated Easter with Paul’s parents.

I continued with testing for my vertigo — everything turned up negative, so I still have no answers for that.

We enjoyed watching the change of seasons for the first time in our new house, and it was fun to open our pool again after a long winter.

Two Try-On Hauls were among my post popular posts, and my 26 Days of Spring Fashion Recap was in the top 3 as well, but 3 Ways to Wear Cargo Pants is probably my favorite post from the month.

3 Ways to Wear Cargo Pants This Spring

MAY

How to Wear Cardigans Without Looking Frumpy was hugely popular in May, and it still continues to rank in my Top Three each month, thanks to Pinterest.

This Outfit Roundup and Try-On Haul, my Dos and Don’ts for Wearing Shorts, and my Summer Wardrobe Essentials were pretty much tied for 2nd place.

We didn’t travel anywhere in May, and I spent a lot of time reading and hanging out on the deck, enjoying our mild spring weather and the privacy of our backyard.

JUNE

June brought us 25 Days of Summer Fashion, and while Cyndi and I didn’t know it at the time, it would be our last seasonal style series of its kind… at least for the time being.

There was no drama, don’t worry, but all good things must come to an end. We decided that after three years, it was time to move on to something else. We’ll still be teaming up from time to time for other fun fashion ventures.

Also in June, we had our front walk and landscape replaced, which makes a much nicer backdrop for my outfit pictures!

The girls had their annual piano recital on Father’s Day weekend, and I love this picture of them with their dad.

C and I saw Cats in Philly later in the month. It was my third time seeing it, but her first.

I’m one of those crazy people who loves it, and while it’s not her favorite, she’s really happy she got to see it.

At the end of the month, I went to Maine for a family wedding. This picture of what I wore was one of my Best Nine from Instagram this year.

JULY

On July 1st, I turned 47. We had a small get-together at our house with good friends, and my daughter made me this gluten-free cake.

My Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale was by far and away the most popular post of the month, followed by my #NSale Try-On Haul, my #NSale Preview, my #NSale Spend vs. Save post, my #NSale Favorites, and… well, you get the idea!!!

2019 Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Also in July, my JLS Fashion Tribe was born! It’s the best thing to ever come from the #NSale.

And amidst all the #NSale madness, we took a summer vacation to Maine!

On our way home from Maine, we stopped in the Boston area for a few days, and I showed the kids my alma mater.

AUGUST

In August, my post on Cigarette Jeans was my most popular, followed closely by Fall Wardrobe Essentials.

I also started the hunt for what to wear to a black tie optional wedding, which we would be attending in October. Many of you enjoyed following the process and weighed in on my try-ons.

Try On Haul: Black Tie Optional Dresses for a Fall Wedding

That month, we moved D back to college and into his first apartment, and R started her second season of playing mallets in the middle school marching band.

D loves living off-campus in an apartment, but sadly, he opted not to take the spot he was offered in his college marching band this year.

I was (and still am) disappointed in that turn of events, but I keep reminding myself that it’s his life, not mine. (Parents have growing pains, too, yo!)

We went back to Massachusetts in the middle of the month to attend my cousin’s wedding. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a family picture, but I have this one of Paul and me.

I had this dress altered to fit better, but after seeing pictures, I still don’t love it. Ah, well. You can’t win ’em all!

Soon after we got back, the girls started back to school. R is in 8th grade at our public middle school…

and C attends 21st Century Cyber Charter School from the comfort of home. Savannah is her favorite (and only) classmate.

SEPTEMBER

In lieu of our daily fall fashion series in September, Cyndi and I teamed up for a weekly Now & Later style collab. It was well-received, but I know some of you miss the daily outfits.

Personally, it was a relief not to have the pressure of photographing so many outfits in such a short timeframe, but I tried to keep fall outfits the focus of my posts that month.

I started doing weekly Try-On Hauls in September, and since then, they consistently dominate my top three most popular posts almost every month.

My most popular post that month that was not a Try-On Haul was this Camo Tee: Now & Later.

And we finally saw Hamilton!!! (D was with us, but he opted to take the picture.)

Also in September, C and I joined a local choral group, and I joined a Community Bible Study. Both have been really good experiences, and a way for us to get out of the house and meet new people. #workfromhomeproblems

OCTOBER

October was the same story, with three of my Try-On Hauls in the top spots for posts published that month, this one being most popular.

Fall 2019 Try On Haul: Everlane, LOFT, Nordstrom & Madewell // Fall Fashion for Women over 40

One of my favorite posts to put together in October was this Save, Spend, Splurge: Neutral Handbag Roundup.

I always find it curious that I get a lot of requests for these, but they rarely show up high in my stats for page views or for sales generated. Perhaps people prefer to shop for handbags in person, where they can try them out first.

And I have so many favorite outfits from that month, I can’t begin to list them all. I love dressing for fall!

October was also the month of my nephew’s wedding, where I wore this semi-formal look.

And we celebrated R’s 14th birthday.

She was super excited to get Sixers tickets for the following week.

D and I were there too, but the only good picture I got was of Paul and R. I think it’s so cool that they can bond over sports.

NOVEMBER

My most popular post in November that was not a Try-On Haul was my 15 Thanksgiving Outfit Ideas

And I started rolling out holiday gift guides and festive outfit ideas.

Jo-Lynne Shane's 2019 Holiday Gift Guide

I think this look was my favorite one of all… pardon the mums.

Next year I need to remember to get my holiday decorations onto my front porch earlier in the season. At least the colors coordinate with my top!

I also attended a blogging conference in Nashville, where I got to hang out with these smart and stylish ladies.

D turned 20 in November, and we had a small celebration with a few of his good friends. He also got Sixers tickets, but we didn’t go with him to that game. He took friends instead.

We stayed in town for Thanksgiving this year, and we had dinner with some of my in-laws who live locally. Later that weekend, we went to a tree farm and cut down our live Christmas tree.

Yeah, that picture was a joke. It was hard finding a large enough tree, though. They were either huge or tiny, but we finally ended up with this one.

DECEMBER

December brought us more holiday gift guides and festive outfits. My Favorite Things was my most popular post, right behind this Try-On Haul.

We celebrated C’s 17th birthday on Christmas Eve with our traditional sushi dinner out, and we came back home and had her presents by the tree.

She actually loves having a Christmas birthday, but we do try to keep the two events separate.

Our Christmas Day was a quiet one here at home, but we enjoyed a visit from my parents earlier in the month, and we celebrated with my in-laws this past weekend.

We also had a little mudroom makeover this past week. Some of you asked for before & after pictures, so here you go!

I’ve been able to move a lot of paper goods and cleaning supplies from the pantry and coat closets into this space, and there’s still room to spare, so I’m happy about that!

Those shelves and hooks will all fill up shortly, I’m sure. I’m still figuring out how to organize the cabinets — one side is all shelves, and the other has space for my upright vacuum cleaner. It’s so nice to get that out of the coat closet.

In Conclusion…

As I bring this Year in Review to a close, I’m very aware that this isn’t only the end of a year, but the end of a decade. The changes that have taken place in the world over the past decade are enormous.

Here are a few facts to ponder:

Ten years ago, Paul had a full head of brown hair, and we had a 4-year-old, a 7-year-old, and a 10-year-old.

Ten years ago, the real food movement was just beginning to take hold, and the words paleo and keto were virtually unheard of.

Ten years ago, Uber and Netflix had yet to become household terms, working from home was barely a thing, and most people didn’t even know what a blog was.

Ten years ago, my outfit pictures looked like this, my blog header looked like this:

Ten years ago, there was no Instagram or Pinterest, much less Snapchat or Tiktok.

And let’s not even discuss politics…

There’s so much more I could come up with if I had time, but this post is already reaching epic proportions.

Looking Ahead to 2020 & State of the Blog Address

Let’s wrap this up! I’m happy to say, I’m not feeling as burnt out with the blog as I have in years past at this time, but there’s still some proverbial baggage that has been weighing me down, and I’m excited to get a fresh start with a new year.

A lot of changes have happened to fashion blogging over the past year or so. One of the biggest for me was bringing an end to the daily style series Cyndi and I’ve done together every season for the past three years.

I’ll admit, I floundered a bit when September rolled around without our usual 26 Days of Fall Fashion to prepare for, but it was also a relief not to have the pressure of shooting and posting so many outfits in such a short time-frame.

I’m also really excited not to have to shoot 27 spring outfits for March, which can be one of our coldest months of the year.

Try-On Hauls have become hugely popular this year — not just with me, but across the fashion blogging space. People seem to be tiring of the creative, aspirational photos and prefer a down-to-earth approach that is more relatable. I’m happy to oblige, and I’ve made them a weekly feature on the blog.

I’m also trying to post My Daily Looks on a semi-weekly basis.

There will still be plenty of professional photo shoots sprinkled in, but I’m not pressuring myself to do as many as I’ve done in years past.

I also really want to move away from promoting fast fashion, which really doesn’t align with my personal style or my convictions. That means focusing on brands and retailers that carry quality products, and styling them multiple ways to get a better cost per wear. I’ve been slowly making this shift over the past few months, and it feels really good.

I’m going to try to do more informational posts — fight the frump, outfit evolutions, how to wear current trends, multiple ways to wear our wardrobe basics, etc.

Those can take a long time to put together, so I’m also toying with cutting out a posting day from my schedule, now that the busyness of Q4 is over. I need to sit down with my calendar and see how that works out.

In more personal news, Paul and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary in August, R will turn 15 in October, D will turn 21 in November, and C will turn 18 in December.

Those are some big numbers, people!

I have mixed emotions about those milestones, but most of all, I am proud… Proud and thankful, because I know how blessed I am. They aren’t perfect, but they’re mine, and I adore them.

Paul and I are super excited about our anniversary trip to Paris this spring, and we need to start figuring out C’s college plans as well.

It’s both exciting and terrifying to think that far ahead, so I’m just going to take it one week at a time.

As Cyndi said in a recent post, I don’t know what the future holds, but I know The One who holds the future. I hope you know Him too.

FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART, THANK YOU!

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for your support this year and throughout all the years of this blogging escapade of mine.

Your comments, your questions, just for being here and reading to the end — it truly means so much. The support and encouragement you give back is what keeps this blog going, so THANK YOU.

Here’s to a happy and healthy and productive 2020!

  1. Writing this message on a rather public forum is somewhat intimidating but I wanted to tell you that I discovered your blog a few years ago, during a very difficult season in my life and that your fun, informative fashion posts and the way you shared your faith in such a simple, sincere way helped me more than I can explain. Thanks so much. Hope 2020 is an incredible year for you.

  2. Oh my goodness, this was the most thorough review! You had a full year and I loved catching up on things I somehow missed in real time. Happy New Year to you and your sweet family!! XOXO

  3. First off, I love your new mud room. Those simple changes made it look neater and gave you so much more storage.
I have a conundrum. I’ve gained weight over the last year ( knee injury) but would like to clear my closet out of the clothes that are too small to make room for my new size. 😢 Can you do a post on what to keep & what to donate? It would help me immensely and any of your other followers that have an overcrowded closet with more than one size making it hard to dress.
And, I want to wish you & your family a Happy New Year! 🥂

      1. Thank you for the reminder. Wednesday will see my bed and every other surface covered in clothes as I Marie Kondo them. Three piles – store, donate and hang. Big job but so worth it.

        1. Yes! Definitely let me know how it goes. And if you think you may lose the weight, put a few favorites that don’t fit right now in a bin and mark them so you can find them later if you want them.

  4. Hello Jo-Lynne, I have been following you for a couple of years. I think you have the style that fits me best. I do home daycare so really, we both work from home. I enjoy your genuine approach to fashion. Thank you!!

  5. I have enjoyed your blog so much, even though you’re MUCH younger than I am, I haven’t felt left out of anything you post….fashion, advice, whatever! Thank you for that. Looking back over this past year, your post made me realize even more how fast this year has flown by! Wow! With my advancing age, I need it to slow down just a bit! Ha! Looking forward to all the good things you’ll have for us in 2020! Happy New Year!

  6. Wow! What am exciting post! Btw, the picture of you with the wine glass at the beginning and ending is a gorgeous. You were very busy this year. Maybe each of us should do a year in review of our own lives. Thank you for all you do to make us feel good about ourselves.

Did you mention that you started the.      Jo-Lynne Tribe Group on Facebook this year? That has to take a lot of your time.

Have a very blessed New Year! You have some special celebrations with your family in 2020!

  7. I loved the recap!! You didn’t mention that we also met each other a decade ago. Haha!!
I’m so thankful for our friendship and that we get to work together. What would I do without you to keep on track??

    Love ya,
    Cyndi

    1. Haha, how could I forget!?! I really wanted to spend more time on that section, coming up with things that have changed and milestones that were 10 years ago, but I ran out of time. Story of my life. Haha! Looking forward to the fun we’ll have in 2020! xoxo

  8. Hi Jolynne, I love your content and am SUPER happy to hear you will focus on getting away from fast fashion. I for one am sick of the acrylic, polyester and nylon sweaters that get promoted so heavily on Jcrew and Nordstrom. They only look good for such a short period of time! I’m 53- stylish and interested in fashion but I want higher end, natural fiber choices! Love it if you would feature that from time to time. Thank you so much!

  9. Great post today! What a year! Makes me think back over 2019 (and the decade) and all the changes (for the better) in my life.
Your blog and posts have changed the way I look at clothing and accessories (and the way I feel about myself.) Thank you so much! I look forward to your future posts and ideas for us. Happy New Year!

  10. I haven’t commented in a looong time but rather than continue to lurk I’m trying to let bloggers I follow know what I like and appreciate. Honestly I almost didn’t read this column thinking it would be stuff I’d seen already, but I’m so glad I did! What a fun way to rethink the year and remember why I follow you. I am older and have a different body shape but we both like a similar style and quality and you do the work of finding great wardrobe pieces. Thanks, JoLynne!

  11. Happy New Year! I really enjoyed this post. I started following you a year ago, and I have to say that I enjoy reading your posts everyday. It gives me something to look forward to when I login in to my email.

  12. This is a great wrap-up to the year, Jo-Lynne! Thank you for all the work you do that helps us less fashion conscious women actually look good. My wardrobe has greatly improved over the last 2 to 3 years of regularly following your blog! Happy New Year!!

  13. I started following you 4 years ago so how fun to see the 10 year throw backs! Thanks for the review & thank you for sharing your self and your family with us as well as the time & thought you put into your posts. Happy New Year to the Shane family!

  14. Wow!!! What a year in review. It sure answers the question where did the year go? Or like my question where did the last 10 years go?  I do appreciate your blog and all the work you do to bring fashion to us:) I agree with your closing  statement. I don’t know what tomorrow holds but I know who holds tomorrow.. I’m so very thankful for that daily assurance. Wishing you and your family a happy new year and all the best that 2020 has to offer.

    1. I’ve been enjoying your blog for years, but never comment! Thank you for all the time you put into creating this space, and for being willing to share pieces of your life. Wishing you a very happy 2020. (P.S., my husband and I also celebrate our 25th this year. We are looking at a possible trip to Ireland, can’t wait)

  15. Enjoyed this year in review. Thanks for all you do to keep me stylish and on trend without looking like I’m trying too hard or dressing too young. Your posts are tremendously helpful and inspiring. Quality speaks to me but I’m not looking to break the bank either so I appreciate sale info. Must admit I got a bit tired of the N sale, not you but everyone and everywhere. Yikes!  I love the fight the frumps, outfit formula and save/spend/splurge posts. Try-on hauls are tremendously informative. Looks like a lot of work for you but they are truly helpful when I’m trying to plan ahead for a special event, holiday, etc. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us too. Happy, healthy New Year to all here who share in this blog.

    1. Thanks for the feedback, Kathy. The try-on hauls will continue to be a regular feature, and I will definitely still share all the sales — that is the best way to buy quality pieces.

  16. I so enjoyed this recap post JoLynne.  Here’s to the next decade!  Also, I absolutely adore the flashback post from 10 years ago.

  17. Oh My Goodness!! That was a Wonderful Year in Review! You had all of my Favorites. Love the Family room. I love that you used Navy Blue in your room as well as the dining room. That has been my favoite color all of my life. We are redoing our living room and I will be incorporating that Color in there. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us. You are a Beautiful and Smart Lady. I started following your blog about 2 yrs ago and the first thing I do in the morning, of course is pray, and look for your blog. Your fashion sense is Wonderful and I love the way you put your colors together. Anyway, thank you again and I wish you and your Family a Very Happy and Healthy 2020.

  18. I thoroughly enjoyed your year in review! I love the realness of your try on hauls and must admit it’s a favorite post. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to create these posts for your readers!

  19. Thank you, Jo-Lynne for all of your hard work in what you do for us.  You certainly make shopping much easier for me and I appreciate your focus on quality vs quantity.  You are my favorite blogger!

  20. What a lovely post, Jo-Lynne. Thank you for your hard work and being a style inspiration.
I love reading your blog. I’m 6 years behind you and my kids are 2, 4, 6 years old, 2 girls and a little boy, so I like reading you posts and imagining where I might be headed in the future. You appear to have a happy and healthy life, I hope it continues in this way. All the best for 2020!

  21. Hi there- I have been following your blog since last summer when I discovered you through Cyndi Spivey🙂. I love your blog- it is positive, encouraging, and helps me to keep relevant.  I currently live just a little south of you near Dover, DE so we have the same weather and your outfit posts help me to look better at the events I attend. Thanks and I look forward to continuing to follow your great blog!

  22. Great yearly review!  I want to say Thank You for everything you do to inspire me to dress better in days that I will be doing chores or just staying home.  You have helped me so much to put more thought and effort into what I am going to wear when I’m out and about.  And I want to look current and on trend, while staying true to myself.  Your blog is a blessing in my life in so many ways.  I can’t wait to experience 2020 with you and my online friends!  God Bless!

    1. I think you summed up perfectly what most of us are looking for from our wardrobes — current and on trend, while staying true to myself. Thanks for your encouragement, and God bless!

  23. Thank you for sharing your life and year with us!! I have been following you for a few years now and love your style and down to and real life attitude. You have a beautiful family. Wishing you a happy and healthy New Year!!

  24. The other readers have expressed beautifully how appreciative we are of you as a woman and as a blogger/ influencer. I look forward to reading your blog with my morning coffee. We feel like you are our girlfriend, from afar, keeping us on our fashion toes in a realistic, everyday life way. Thank you for sharing your life, your family and home with all of us! Its a pleasure reading your posts. Sending you hugs from Canada! Happy New Year to you and your family!🎉

  25. Great recap, Jo-Lynne! I am thrilled to hear that you’re starting to love away from fast fashion. That is a personal goal for me as well this year. I look forward to those posts. Happy New Year!

    1. I’m glad to hear that! I do think this is a shift we are going to start seeing in the industry overall, as we are all becoming more informed about what happens to all our cast-offs.

  26. Cheers to you and your family! May 2020 be the very best year yet. May the Lord grant you health, happiness and prosperity!

  27. Cheers and Happy New Year!
You were my 1st Blogger that I found and I have been following ever since.
I think it was 2016 and I found you on Pinterest.
Your style is perfect for me and comes in so handy! I can always consult your
    daily emails for help!

  28. What a wonderful wrap up to 2019. It had the perfect mix of fashion news as well as family & home insight!  I wish you much success with the evolution of your blog, as well as good health & happiness for your family in 2020!  God is good!  Right now, we are REALLY leaning on the Lord for comfort & wisdom, as we are dealing with the sudden passing of our daughter’s father-in-law (71) the day after a Christmas.  A shock to all of us.  Unfortunately our 10 year old granddaughter was with her dad & grandfather when he took ill & had to witness all the trauma of the ambulance transfers, him lapsing into a coma & eventually passing away.  He’s been part of our family for 12 years & all our Maine vacations – we are all heartbroken. So 2020 will find our family & especially our granddaughter, dealing with this loss.  Fortunately our faith will see us through it. 🙂. God a Bless & Happy New Year!

  29. Thank you for all the work involved in producing this blog. You love it, and that shows!  I’m looking forward to following you another year!

  30. I’ve enjoyed your post for quite awhile now! I’ve purchased many things that you modeled. Keep up the good work.
My husband and I have a home in Strathmere next to OC . We live full time in Jenkintown,Pa.
Enjoy your trip to Paris and be sure to make a reservation for the restaurant inside the Eiffel Tower. It’s an experience you won’t forget!

  31. Beautiful post JoLynne! Thanks for sharing so much and so many great pics of you and your family. I love reading your blog daily. Mixing it up or keeping things the same, it works, keep doing what you’re doing. He does hold the future, thanks be to God. Blessing to you in 2020! 🙂

  32. Thank you so much for the review and for your blog! I’ve learned so much and feel like I dress a lot better than I used. 🙂 Happy New Year!

  33. God bless you JoLynne. Thank you for all the time & effort you put into your blog. Thx for sharing your family too. Praying 2020 is a great year knowing God is in control and He has everything under control too! 😘

  34. What an incredibly busy lady you are! I am so glad I found you and followed you. Thank you for all your posts and fashion inspiration. May 2020 be a blessed year for you and your family!

  35. I’m just reading this blog and have to say it was really good. Fun to have your recap of your year. I’m sure its nice for you to have too.  I laughed out loud, when I clicked on the link to see the outfits you posted 10 yrs. ago. Oh My!!!!  You really have evolved from there.  The family picture of you all, 10 yrs. ago, was so cute.  Can’t believe how much kids change in 10 yrs. Thanks for all you do to help us stay in fashion and I’m with you…….I like quality over quantity.  Looking forward to seeing what you have for 2020.

  36. Happy New Year! I want to thank you for all you do as I can tell you put in a lot of hard work. I am not a blogger but an educator and I get a lot of ideas from your blog. I am happy to read that you will be posting more material about sustainable clothing choices. After watching The True Cost in the fall of 2016 I committed to purchasing from ethical clothing companies and secondhand. It’s not always easy but it aligns with my personal values that everyone should be paid a living wage no matter what industry they work in. I am encouraged that more and more bloggers/influencers are promoting more sustainable choices and less fast fashion. I would love to see how you take one featured item and make several different outfits with just a few changes and I also enjoy your fight the frump posts. I heard about Naadam sweaters last year but never took the plunge (mostly because I really have enough sweaters) but this may be the year I get one after seeing it on you. Lastly, please take time for yourself and ease up on posting every day. You are entitled to days off just like everyone else. If anyone gets mad about you taking a day off then the problem is with them, not you. Blessings to you and your family in the 2020!

    1. Thanks, Deb. I appreciate all that feedback. I will still have a mix, but definitely want to focus on featuring more sustainable brands as well.

And the daily posting is really my doing. I don’t think anyone would get mad about me taking a day off. I just got in the habit, and I usually have more than enough topics to fill every day.

Thanks for your encouragement. Happy New Year!

  37. Jolynne, thank you for all the time you put into your blog. I love when you show how to wear new styles and especially like when you try on stuff and explain why it works or doesn’t work. Also, love the try-on hauls and appreciate the sales alerts. Your Fashion Tribe is another great addition to 2019. I love to look/read those posts!
    Happy New Year!
