Yellow Varsity Stripe Sweater

Greetings, friends! I have a bonus outfit for you. This was going to be tomorrow’s post for day 3 of 26 Days of Spring Fashion, but the sweater is almost sold out so I’m going to go ahead and post today.

This is a fun casual look you can start wearing right away, even if you’re in an area where spring is slow to come.

This stripe v-neck sweater is so fresh and fun. I love the combination of ivory, yellow, and grey. Yellow is supposedly trending this spring (yes, again!) and this is a nice way to participate without wearing yellow right up next to your face.

The quality is nice; it’s fairly thick and has a high cotton content so it washes up well and shouldn’t shrink.

I sized up to a medium because I had this sweater in a grey/black combo last fall and felt like it was a little snug, but this one is looking a little large. I may put it in the dryer for 10-15 minutes and see if that helps take it up a little bit.

I paired this sweater with my go-to skinny jeans and white sneakers for a casual, laid-back weekend look.

I carried an off-white shoulder bag and accessorized with silver hoops. This outfit could definitely use a casual necklace to fill the neckline, but I forgot to bring one to our photo shoot. #ooops

This is the perfect outfit for throwing a trench coat or lightweight jacket on top and wearing to run errands or meet a friend for coffee. It’s chic and put-together, but comfortable and practical too.

  1. Super cute! I like the idea of a little yellow, because as you said – I can’t wear yellow too close to my face. I have been seeing it everywhere as well. Great transitional look.

  2. Super chic. I really like this outfit Joylnne. That demin jeans paired with those white sneakers looks really trendy, and now that is close to spring time, it really fits this season. When I wear similar jeans, I tend to crop it 2-3 inches more than you do to show a little bit more skin.
Keep it up. I own a pair of these sneakers and are really soft from inside, and easy to slip on. In fact I don’t wear any socks with them.

    1. You know, funny you should say that. I actually cut an older pair off to wear with my sneakers b/c I felt like I needed a little ankle to show. But then suddenly my legs looked short and my hips looked unusually wide. It threw everything off. I do wonder if it was those exact jeans, though. They have some whiskering at the hip, which is not helpful either. Maybe I’ll try it with another pair.
