You Will Bristle With Excitement

You don’t want to miss June’s post over at Chic Critique today where she tells you all about her fancy-schmancy hairbrush.  Even if you don’t give a rat’s patootie about hair brushes, you still need to go read this post.

And don’t be drinking your coffee while you’re reading because you might just find yourself snorting java out your nose.  And that wouldn’t be very dainty, now would it?  To say nothing of detrimental to your computer monitor.

Oh, and I can’t take credit for the title of this post.  That’s June’s little pun.

  1. Sister Honey Bunch. No, it is not wrong. In fact, you should not brush your hair, according to the book Curly Girl, to which I’ve referred on numerous occasions. (Plug the title into the Amazon search box on my sidebar to find it on Amazon.)

I have many friends with naturally curly hair who have used the methods in this book with fantastic results. It’s how I treat my 5-year-old daughter’s naturally wavy hair.

No, I do not get any benefits from plugging this book at every available opportunity, lol. I just think it’s an excellent guide to managing curly hair!

  2. LOL!!!! But I want one now!!! I can’t even imagine what my husband would say. $100? Is anyone else taking the plunge?

  3. And as a curly person myself, I do not brush my hair when getting ready to go out. I only brush it before bed, when no one is going to see me except the Sand Man. If I brush it for my real life, it looks like I have a Christmas tree on my head.

  4. I’m a no brush gal too, Sister Honey Bunch. I just comb it when I get out of the shower and that’s it. Any other time and I find combs or brushes breaking in my hair. If I brush it or blow dry it, I do indeed look like a lion with my red mane. Sebastian’s Laminate gel is the way to go to keep it from frizzing. (Mmmm, still need to get myself some more of that stuff!)

  11. I’ve always heard good things about Mason Pearson, and enjoy the new blog, but I CANNOT pay that kind of money for a hairbrush. I’m pathetic enough to actually have my husband cut my hair, isn’t that horrible?

Maybe you guys could review things from Target or something sometime. Or regularly since I know you love Target. The Boots waterproof mascara they have is awesome, I’ll tell you that.

You could make the Cheap Cousin to Chic Critique for Those Who Are Pathetic and Won’t Pay That Much Money For Stuff They Really Do Want But Aren’t Going To Buy Because Criminy, Get Real, I’m Already Lucky Enough To Not Have To Work and I Have Three Kids and Just Won’t Open My Wallet Up For That. Or maybe that’s just too long, I don’t know. 🙂
