Casual Spring Jackets for Women

It’s been a cold and rainy April so far here in Philadelphia, but it’s finally warming up this week, and I can’t wait to ditch the winter coats and break out all of my spring jackets. Having a good variety of outfit-completing jackets is the best way to keep your spring wardrobe interesting, and there is no shortage of great options out there this year!

One of my early favorites this season was the KUT from the Kloth Amanda Boxy Jacket in this gorgeous strawberry-pink. The utility details are a nice way to update the classic denim jacket, but unfortunately, it’s low inventory. This cropped version comes in the same color.

I’m also a huge fan of the KUT from the Kloth Kara. It’s a cropped style with a raw hem that has been around for several years, and I like it so much, I buy a new color each season. This year, it was a tough call between the lavender and the pink, but I ended up with the one I could get in time for my Florida trip last month — this pretty Plush Pink. The lavender arrived after I got back, and it’s a really pretty muted hue. It’s also on sale right now!

This Gap Relaxed Utility Jacket is another good casual style that I’ve worn quite a bit already this spring. I love olive green for pairing with denim, as well as with white and ecru bottoms; and the boxy, cropped fit looks great with higher rise pants and jeans.

I also love this KUT from the Kloth Zinnia that’s on sale at Nordstrom; in fact, I just popped it in my cart!

When I want to level up, the Tommy Bahama Two Palms Linen Raw Edge Jacket is a really nice option to have. It also comes in white, blue, olive green, and a pretty beige.

If you like the lady jacket trend, Gap Factory has this sweater version, which I find easier to wear than the more structured fabrics.

And my spring wardrobe is never complete without a denim jacket or two. I love this AG Chiro Jacket for a more elevated look.

Or for a more traditional style, KUT from the Kloth Jacqueline is my go-to. The relaxed fit leans into current trends, and the versatile mid indigo wash looks good with both casual and dressier outfits.

  1. I have the ladies jacket from GAP Factory in the white and the Kut from the Kloth jacket in lavender is on its way to me now. I also have several denim jackets and a navy one that is a little longer, so I’m all set. I hope that PT went well!

  2. I love spring and fall jackets! I like having them in different weights to avoid the dreaded coat as long as possible. The Tommy Bahama jackets are so nice that I have two. I carry them with me in the summer for air-conditioned restaurants that are too chilly. Despite the price, it’s definitely a low-cost-per-wear item. My new addition to my collection this year is the Wit & Wisdom Twill Utility in dusty slate.

  3. What a great round-up of spring jackets! I love how a jacket can complete a look and cover up a sleeveless tank. Since I already have a ton of denim jackets in all styles and washes, I look toward colored utility jackets mostly! Jackets can also extend the life of sleeveless tank dresses, since it’s too cold to wear them alone now. Enjoy watching the eclipse today! Hope the clouds stay away.

  4. I have the Wit n Wisdom jacket in the Dusty Slate color. I saw it on one of your post awhile back when you listed. I really like it. It’s not too heavy and the green is a great cool green with muted silver buttons. I think you’d like it. It runs slightly large. I took the XS at 5’3” and about 122lbs. I bought two sizes and kept the smallest. I took your advise several years ago and added completer jackets to my closet and it has really made a difference.

    1. I’m so glad you like it! I did order it and I liked it a lot but then I injured my foot before I got a chance to photograph it. I have held onto it, though. I hope to style it sometime soon!

      1. Oh good. I wondered why you kept posting it but never purchased. Seemed like the style and color you’d like. I’ve worn mine several times, but would love to see how you style it.

  5. The Kut from the Kloth lavender jacket is going to be perfect for the spring! I’m happy to hear PT is going well and you’re close to moving on to the brace!

  6. Hi. I love your blog. Do you normally wear cool or warm colors? I love the Kut from the Kloth Kara jacket and am trying to determine if the plush pink would be a good color for someone who looks better in cool colors. Thank you.
