What a hot, steamy week it’s been in Philly! How about you??? Here are the highlights from what I wore this week.
This I wore out to dinner with my hubby for my birthday. It’s a nice restaurant but not particularly formal so I went for shorts and heels. I like the juxtaposition of shorts and heels for a fun dressy/casual vibe.
Before you ask, I picked up the coral shorts and statement necklace at the J.Crew Factory Outlet earlier this summer. As far as I know, they’re still carrying them. The white top is CAbi — also from their outlet store this summer. The sandals are old, old, old — but definitely a fave. So comfy. And the green bag was a “to-me, from-me” gift (haha!) back in the spring. It’s a R Minkoff that I snagged on clearance at Zappos. (And I really need to zip up that outside pocket! Classy!)
This outfit was from a casual day at home.
All my shorts were dirty so I pulled on this cargo skirt. It is so very, very old — a Target purchase several years ago. The Timeless Tank is from Banana Republic, also a few years old, but they still carry it in other colors and patterns. I have about 25 of them. Seriously. Love the fit and they wash and wear great. The flips are from Target a few years back, and the necklace is one of my faves from the beautiful and talented Lisa Lehman at Studio Jewel. The bracelet is from Madewell. I liked how the copper color picked up on the copper in the necklace. (Is that copper? If not, what is it?)
I wore this next outfit for the Fourth of July after running a hot, steamy 10K that morning. We hosted my in-laws for a cookout — it was the perfect, laid back summer afternoon!
(None of these pieces are available anymore. They are all old favorites.)
I wore this casual dress to church on Sunday and dressed it up with the gold necklace.
I’ve had that necklace for ages; it was from a Getting Gorgeous Event at BlogHer a few years ago, and I rarely have the right outfit for it but it seems to be perfect for this dress. The dress is from the Banana Republic Factory Store. It comes in about 10 different colors. I had a hard time choosing one but I went with this bright orange because for some reason, orange makes me happy!
The Tory Burch Miller Sandals were my birthday gift from my mom last week. I’ve seen these around and thought they were super cute but I couldn’t bring myself to drop the cash on them, so when my mom asked me for birthday ideas, I shot the link over to her! Gotta luv moms!!
I wore this outfit several times this week.
The shorts are from J.Crew Factory, and the GAP Essential short-sleeve T is an awesome summer staple. The Chaco Flip Ecotread flips are purely for the comfort value! I’d be wearing my new Tory sandals with this if they were easier on my feet! Oh, and the bracelet is one of my daughter’s Rainbow Loom masterpieces.

Love the looks and I have those coral shorts too. I bought another pair in yellow. Should have picked up the aqua too.

The coral shorts outfit is gorgeous. I love the necklace and coral with the green purse. Says the girl who made a point of saying that I never change my purse in my current WIWW post. 😉
Ha. Well, I don’t change it out often. Green goes with almost everything!
Love that first outfit and the picture itself is so pretty. The lighting is perfect!
Thanks! My daughter took that so it was a total fluke that it turned out. LOL!!
Super adorable outfits! Im in love with those tory burch sandals as well.
You know you should really be a fashion / clothing sales store model : )
Ha! As if.
Super cute! Wishing I had the legs to go with outfits like that. After four kids, I just need to stick to longer shorts and skirts.
Cute, cute 🙂 Okay, JL, here’s a question for ya, since you’re always looking for new fashion post material. Have you ever done a fashion post on bras for large chested women? Or just bras in general? I thought of this b/c you wear a lot of tanks, some of them with thin straps, and I wondered how you find a good, supportive bra that works with thin straps. Let’s face it — when you’re big up top, summer clothing is challenging all around, from scoopy necklines to swimsuits. Just a thought.
Hm, I will see if I can figure out a way to address that. Proper undergarments are KEY to good style, but it’s such a personal topic. *blushes* 🙂
Looking good, Jo-Lynne!;) Love the statement necklace, gotta get me one of those:)
thanks!! I am loving that one.
Loving your style. If you get a chance, please link up to What We Wore Party: http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/2013/07/what-we-wore-5.html
Beautiful! Love them all.
I’m obsessed with that Banana dress. Looks great with the lia sophia necklace. And seriously, I know I always tell you this but major props for always pulling it together. The weather has been so gross. I am literally walking around in t-shirts and workout clothes. Forget accessories.
Yeah, I’m over it. It’s nasty. I’ve started only posting the cute days and I do wear tanks and jean shorts a lot!
Glamamom, if you have an BR factory store near you, they have them 60% off right now, which makes them $18! I just got two today – the orange one Jo-Lynne has and a kelly green one. I couldn’t choose just one…
You look great in everything.
I especially like the coral and turquoise shorts and how you styled them. Plain shirts with great jewelry and even the shoes – all works well together to look put together while still dressed casually.
I love all of your outfits! I was really liking the orange dress and then I realized i have the same dress, only it is white/navy. lol It is a great dress ! Love your style. Everything looks really good on you.
Love that orange Banana Republic dress and necklace together! The bright color is so pretty. I also love the Tory Burch sandals…I’ve been eyeing those, too. 😉
Forgive me if this has been asked before, but can you tell me about your watch, the cream/white colored band? I love that it goes with everything and the fact that it’s not a heavy metal band. Please share, where is it from? Thank you!
Yes, I love that watch. It’s by Michele. I bought it at the Fossil Outlet a few years ago and it came with a coral snakeskin band. Later I bought a red patent band and changed those out a lot. But it got tiresome. So I got this white band and I don’t change it much anymore. 🙂
