This week I have nothing new or inventive to show you. I only took pictures twice. It’s been a rough week, what can I say? With a sick hubby (so out of the ordinary for us) and my ramped up workout schedule and a few new gigs on my plate, I have been running in circles and I think I only got dressed in something decent a couple of days last week. But this is what I’ve got.
SUNDAY: We went to church. I knew I wanted to wear this magenta modal/polyester top (Banana Republic) with my black poncho/cape top from the LOFT Outlet. I first was going to wear them with blue jeans as I have before, and then I thought, I wonder what my black jeans would look like with those tops??
It’s a lot of black, but I kind of like it for a change (I get sick of wearing blue jeans so much.) These jeans are Sevens, and they’re such a fine wale corduroy that they almost feel like velvet. They are very stretchy and comfy and soft. (They’re similar to these, but I got mine on a 40% off sale last winter. WOOT!)
I have only ever worn them with boots but I decided to try these Nine West black patent pointy-toe flats for a change. It’s a lot of black, but I think it works.
Simple hoop earrings were the only jewelry I wore. I’m never sure if I should wear a necklace over this shawl/poncho dealie or not. Thoughts??
MONDAY: I had to take my son to a doctor appointment so I couldn’t avoid getting out of my yoga pants. It was unseasonably warm (as in, I got dressed in my typical sweater and jeans and went outside and came back in and changed into this!)
This embellished tee is an old LOFT Outlet purchase. The straight-leg jeans are an old stand-by, and the silver flats are from Aldo. I grabbed this silver jacket because I thought I might be cold in the doctor’s office (it was!), and I wanted something light weight. I grabbed the same chunky silver hoop earrings from Sunday and added a silver beaded bracelet.

I like the black jeans better than the blue jeans. They make the other colors pop! I’m thinking maybe a long necklace with small beads/decorations to add some bling. Nothing chunky. I definitely would do a scarf. Or a pin that sparkles.
Hm. A scarf could be fun.
I love your “mom” style. lol. You have awesome hair, too. I look forward to seeing your WIWW posts…thanks for sharing!
Thank you SO much. The hairstyle is new and was born of necessity (it is thinning) but thanks so much! I feel much more confident now that it is shorter.
I think a long pendant would look great with your poncho. I really enjoy your blog – thank you
I have this Silpada one on my wish list. I think it would be perfect. http://mysilpada.com/sites/public/content/jewelry/productList.jsf
the link doesnt work 🙁
well pooey.
I have been meaning to tell you- since you posted a pic of your infinity scarf, I have purchased two and I love them! They are much easier to wear than other scarfs, IMO. Thank you for the inspiration! 😀
That’s awesome! Good to know.
I love the black with the punch of color in the shirt. I probably wouldn’t wear a necklace with the poncho, only because I would probably eventually take the poncho off. A long silver necklace would work though.
We are having warm weather too. I’m not a huge fan of winter, but I have some cute things I want to wear, and I am tired of wearing the same things from summer. I need to update my spring/summer wardrobe during sale season I think.
Oh, I love the sparkly tee! Sign me up for anything with sparklies! Cute, cute.
Love, love, love Sunday’s outfit!
I have that same poncho! I love it. Really like the tee too. I love t-shirts with a little oomph!
The poncho looks great! I also really liked the earlier post on the striped sweater poncho. Thanks for showing us how they can be dressed up/down. Sometimes it’s easy to get into a rut w/how to wear specific pieces. After seeing your posts, I may find myself over at LOFT some day soon : )
You always look so cute Jo-Lynne! I love the magenta top with the black poncho- looks awesome!
