This is absolutely my favorite time of year. Even though it’s my “busy time” and I find myself a bit manic trying to do All The Things, I still love everything about it… the darkness that slowly covers the house like a cloak soon after the kids get home from school, the sweet smell of cookies baking, the hunt for the perfect presents, the holiday cards that fill our mailbox, the way my neighborhood lights up at night, and the way everyone seems just a little bit nicer than usual.
And for our family, it’s a time to celebrate our faith and reflect on the greatest gift ever bestowed upon mankind . . . those great tidings of comfort and joy that we hear sung about even when we are in the most mundane of places like the grocery store. There’s nothing like hearing Christmas carols wafting through the store when I’m in a rush to make me slow down and enjoy the season.
Dearfoams also brings tidings of “comfort and joy” this time of year. You HAVE to see the adorable slipper styles Dearfoams has available this year for holiday gift giving.
If you’re a regular around here, you probably know by now that I spend most of my days working from the comfort of home. While I do encourage moms to take some time to put on the basic makeup and get dressed every day, I have to admit that I spend many days in yoga pants and slippers. Of course, they have to be cute slippers . . . I do have an image to uphold here.
But comfort is of utmost importance, especially at this time of year when the days are short and the evenings are dark and long. This is when I trade in my flip-flops for cozy slippers, and that’s where Dearfoams comes in. Lucky me, they sent me several styles to try. Which leaves me with a very difficult decision to make when I get up in the morning . . . which pair do I wear?
These embellished velvet clogs might just be my favorites. In fact, I’m wearing them right now as I type this post. They are fun because they actually look cute with real clothes. I’m wearing them with jeans and a grey turtleneck, and they actually make a pretty fun fashion statement. Plus, the rubber soles make them appropriate for wearing outside to get the mail.
They’re also nice to take with you if you’re going to a dinner party at someone’s home who requires their guests to remove their shoes (my personal pet peeve!!) But it’s always a good idea to have a pair of cute, stylish slippers on hand for such an occasion. These are particularly festive.
There are also these adorable microfiber terry moccasins. The black pair comes with a chic leopard lining. These could almost pass for shoes.
And my daughter went gaga for these sequin fair isle boots. Aren’t these just perfect for enjoying Christmas morning by the tree? I love how Dearfoams has them pictured on their website on a woman in a party dress. I mean… why not? Especially if you’re hosting a home party. I often wear my slippers when I’m having houseguests, and with these cute styles, there’s absolutely no shame in that.
Can we take a moment and give my husband some kudos for taking all of these pictures for me? Is this what being a model feels like? Because it was kind of fun!
Thanks to Dearfoams for sponsoring this post.
