End of Summer Date Night Outfit

Last week I shared a roundup of 25 tops to ease the transition from summer to fall, and one of them was this split neck snake print blouse from Evereve.

Evereve has quickly become one of my go-to retailers. They have such a great selection, and I’m really hoping they open a store here in the Philly area sometime soon!

I love how the lightweight fabric and sleeveless design of this blouse makes it cool and comfortable for this late summer weather, but the snake print and color palette give a nod to fall. It’s the perfect top for now and later, so I styled it for a late summer date night look with off-black jeans and platform sandals.

You can wear this top unbuttoned for a keyhole neckline, or unbuttoned as I have it here for more of a v-neck, and I like how the banded waist gives some definition to the middle. This top runs true to size, or you could size up if you need a little more wiggle room in the chest area. I kind of wish I’d tried the medium, but I have my usual size small.

These jeans are the Good American Good Classic, which is a slim straight ankle jean with a high 11 1/4” front rise. The fabric is 99% cotton, so they are thick with a slightly rigid fit, but there’s enough stretch to keep them comfortable. They also have great recovery and don’t bag out.

I like the washed black effect for a more casual look, and the ripped knee adds some texture and is in keeping with the casual vibe. These jeans run true to size; I have them in a 28.

And these platform sandals with the woodgrain heel have the look of a clog, but the comfort of a sandal. They’re by Dr. Scholl’s and the comfort and support is phenomenal. The strap is a fabric material, so it’s very soft against the foot. These require zero breaking in.

These shoes would also be really cute with the boho style dresses that are trending this year. They run true to size; I have my usual size 8.

Since it’s often chilly indoors, I usually bring a denim jacket along with me when I’m going out.

This white denim jacket is super soft and very comfortable. It’s 70% cotton and 30% rayon, so it has a slightly dressier vibe than a typical denim jacket, and I also like the white hardware. That makes it easy to wear any color metal in the rest of your accessories. It runs true to size; I have the small.

For accessories, I wore this silver double strand coin necklace, also from Evereve, and my Kendra Scott split hoops.

I also wore a set of Lagos bracelets that have both gold and silver tones — this ball station bracelet and the caviar icon single strand bracelet. They’re super versatile and work with both dressy and casual looks.

And I carried a taupe crossbody that pulls from some of the colors in the top. It’s an older model that is no longer available, but here are some other options.

Because this post is a mix of ShopStyle and rewardStyle links, I couldn’t make a single shopping widget with all the components of this outfit. But you can scroll down to the Shop The Post section below to get links to everything I’m wearing!

  1. Such a great outfit. And so simple. I don’t wear black denim jeans often because it seems too “dressy” for my very casual lifestyle, but I have always liked distressed denim for the texture. I think I need a pair of distressed black jeans!

    1. Wow, I can’t imagine not having that option in my closet. Do you wear white? They’re not really any dressier than white, but yeah a washed black with distressing will definitely be more casual.

  2. I love this outfit! I recently started wearing black jeans…after a long break (no particular reason) and I’ve enjoyed styling them, both casually and a bit dressy. This post gives me such inspiration! Thanks!

  3. Both black jeans and white denim I just never can seem to style right from my closet. I don’t even know why. 🙂 I’ve bought white denim jackets before and never wear them. I don’t seem to grab my black jeans either. You look cute in this outfit and I love the sandals. I’m so afraid of snakes and it seems silly, but I just can’t wear snake skin of any kind. I know its weird, but its just he way it is. I know what you mean, once the kids start up their early practices no matter the sport, Summer seems over and the vibe just isn’t the same. I never could get use to it. I LOVED the last day of school when the kids were little and even older when you had the whole Summer ahead to look forward to. It goes way too fast. Now when I’m empty nested, the seasons seem different altogether, without the routine of the school schedules. I can already start to feel the Fall mornings in the air on the NW coast. I think you have similar weather as we do on your coast. We are suppose to get hot again this week. They say we might hit record highs for the hottest Summer on record for any Summer so far. The fire season for Oregon/WA. has been crazy. Luckily, we haven’t been affected by our home with smoke this Summer. Just alittle hazy at times. Have a great week.

  4. Great outfit! Have you done anything different with your hair? It always looks great but it seems fuller? How is your daughter’s hair issue?

    1. I got highlights a couple months ago… maybe that it? 🙂 Hers is no better, unfortunately. We’re seeing a holistic practitioner, and she’s trying some supplements and things. We’ll see!

  5. What a great outfit! I love that Dr. Scholl’s has more shoes that are on trend, than in years past, since they are a good price point and have great support. I also enjoy wearing tops with a banded bottom because they help conceal my tummy. Have a great day!

  6. I love black jeans! They can be dressed up with a nice top & heels for date night or worn casual during the day. I’ve never got into the distressing though. I’m too conservative. 🤷‍♀️
I’m not ready for fall or fall clothes. I’m seeing it on all the blogs and I know it’s part of the business, but noooooo!

  7. I really like wearing black jeans, and the last few years the faded black color. I am not ready for full-on jeans yet. I have been wearing cropped and ankle length, but it’s just too hot for jeans. I purchased a pair of linen joggers in gray and wore them yesterday with a black muscle tee, and loved the look, and was so comfortable.

  8. Thank you for this post especially after your surgery and everything… I wanted to share a tip with you. I’ve had 18 surgeries in my life. I hated the way I felt after so I met with a naturalist and she stated to eat one pound of carrots to detox from the anesthesia. I recieved t my itemized list of 42 things went into my IV. so it’s good to detox and get all that out of your body.. You will feel much better more energy quicker..

God bless you and your family 👪
