Happy Friday, friends! As summer is winding down, many of us are getting excited for fall fashion, but the weather will likely be warm for quite a while.
One way I like to transition my summer wardrobe into fall is to start wearing darker colors in lightweight fabrics with my shorts and jeans. Those pieces can usually be adapted pretty easily for cooler weather by throwing a denim jacket or cardigan on top and swapping out sandals for ankle boots or slides.
Today I’ve got a roundup of transition tops you can start wearing now and also with fall outfits when the weather gets colder, along with some style tips to showcase how versatile these pieces are.

Love all these tops and your suggestions for how to wear them. Thanks for this post!
Lots of cute tops. Is it just me or are so many of the v-neck tops waaayyyy too low cut? Sigh … 😉
Have a blessed day and a great weekend!

Such a great post, as I am getting a little burned out with of some of my summer tops, but I live in Texas and we certainly aren’t ready for anything heavy. Still having 100 degree weather 🙁
But these would definitely work and Cindy posted a cute green short sleeve top from Target, that I am actually wearing today with Jeans and sandals but it will transition well into fall. I have to run to work now, but I will look at all these great tops closer when I get home. Thank you and have a great weekend! I use to love watching my daughters high school band perform, but she’s in college now (boy how time flies). Enjoy it while you can!
I know, this is going to have a hard year. So many “lasts.”
I love WHBM This is a great post!! I especially like the way you can scroll over the picture find where it is from and the price… Home Run!

I love all these Tee’s especially the olive one, so cute tucked in, I hope you have a blessed weekend!

Cute tops! I’m really looking forward to dressing for fall!
Hi there! Hard to believe fall is just around the corner. Of course here in the south, fall comes later since it stays warm for quite a long time.
Is Cyndi, your friend in the blogger world still active? How do I find her website? I like both of your styles.
If you Google “Grace & Beauty,” Cyndi’s blog will come up.
Yep, you can find her site here: https://www.cyndispivey.com/
I was lucky today and got the knotted front T-Shirt from Norstrom in my size in moss green. I already had some of other tops in my closet so thanks for ideas. B
Jo-Lynne,
Will Sherpa vests and puffer vests still be on trend for this fall and winter? Love your roundup of transitional tops today. Have a great weekend!

Hey Sheila, I think they’re a classic that’s pretty much always in style.
Great tips! I think floral and lace garments are wonderful transitional clothing items!
Some really pretty tops here – I love the pink ruffled vest and the red T-shirt from Loft.
