Get the Dolce Glow: Easy Sunless Tanning

** This post is sponsored by QVC and Collective Voice. All selections, styling, and opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support this site!

Since I’ve been laid up with an injured ankle, I haven’t been able to get my regular spray tans, so before we went to Florida for Spring Break, I decided to DIY it. Fortunately, I had a bunch of new Dolce Glow sunless tanning products from QVC waiting for me to test out!

Dolce Glow is a new brand to me, so I was excited to see how it compares to others I’ve used, and I have to say, I’m impressed. The first thing I noticed is, these products do not have that infamous self-tanner scent that is a turnoff to many women.

Plus, they’re completely clear, so you don’t have to worry about getting brown stains on your clothes or bedsheets, and they never leave you looking orange or streaky. On top of all that, they’re super easy to use, and they dry quickly without leaving any sticky residue.

Too good to be true? Nope! I promise, these sunless tanning products are amazing, and they’re virtually fool proof. Let’s break it down.

Best Dolce Glow Tanning Products for Face & Body

Dolce Glow Goccia di Sole Hydrating Self-Tanning Drops

I’m a huge fan of self-tanning drops because you can mix them in with your moisturizer, or apply directly to your skin, depending on the result you want. The Dolce Glow Goccia di Sole Hydrating Self-Tanning Drops can be used on your face or your body, and it’s a buildable formula that gets more intense with each use.

Your tan will develop gradually over 4-6 hours, and you want to be sure to wash hands thoroughly after you apply, or use an application mitt.

I’ve been using these every other day or so, and it keeps me in a perpetual glow. When applied directly on the skin, they blend in easily and dry almost immediately. I usually follow up with lotion to make sure it’s blended in well and to keep my skin moisturized; but this product also contains moisturizing ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Sodium Hyaluronate, Jojoba Seed Oil, and more.

Dolce Glow Luce Clear Self-Tanning Mist

I’ve never used a self-tanning mist before, and I have to say, the Dolce Glow Luce Clear Self-Tanning Mist is a remarkable invention. You just spray it on in a circular motion, and let it dry. After you get the level of tan you want, you shower it off. You can also spray it on at night, go to bed, and shower it off the next morning.

What makes this product truly incredible is how you can reach every part of your body, due to the continuous ultra-fine mist that is released when you hold down the nozzle. Even if you reach around your back and turn it upside down, it still works.

I like to apply this in the shower so it doesn’t leave any residue on the floor or vanity, but of course, I do not actually wear shorts and a tank top when I’m using this… I think you get the idea!

Dolce Glow Acqua Hydrating Self-Tanning Face Mist

The Dolce Glow Acqua Hydrating Self-Tanning Face Mist can be used as a primer or setting spray, and it’s designed to plump and rejuvenate the skin and leave you feeling hydrated, dewy, and refreshed.

I usually spritz my face and décolletage after applying my makeup in the morning, and sometimes I will also use it at night before going to bed.

I also like to spray the tops of my hands, since hand-washing throughout the day fades the tan I get from the drops or spray.

There’s no need to wash this off, and it gives you a lovely bronze glow after just a few hours.

Where to Buy Dolce Glow

QVC has the best prices I’ve seen on Dolce Glow products, and right now they have two Dolce Glow bundles for unbeatable prices.

If you’re looking for at-home sunless tanning made easy, Dolce Glow makes the best products I’ve tried in a long time, and you can’t beat the QVC prices. Plus, first time QVC shoppers can use HELLO15 for $15 off $35+ orders, and second-time customers can use HELLO10 for $10 off $25+.

Oh, and did I mention? Dolce Glow products are made in Australia of clean ingredients, so you can feel good about that too!

Tips for Self-Tanning At Home

#1. Exfoliate and shave before applying self tanner.

#2. Avoid using any moisturizers, oils, or perfumes. You can put just a dab on your knees, elbows and ankles, as well as between your fingers and toes, to prevent the self tanners from settling into the creases.

#3. Use a tanning mitt to prevent orange palms, when rubbing self tanning products into your skin.

#4. Start with your feet and work your way up to avoid creases that can happen if you put your product on your torso first.

#5. Apply self-tanner in a circular motion, starting with the more fleshy areas. Go easy on your feet, ankles, wrists, elbows, and neck.

#6. If not using a tanning mitt, scrub the palms of your hands immediately after application to remove any residual tanning product.

#7. Allow the tanning product to dry before dressing or going to bed.

#8. Shower off after the appropriate time, if instructed. (This depends on the product you use.) Gently pat dry to avoid rubbing off your newfound glow.

#9. Lotion often to maintain your tan.

  1. I like that it’s made of clean ingredients. Using a bunch of chemicals on your body all the time is not good. I’m olive skinned but my legs are beige so they look better tanned. I’ve given up on self tanning. Inside it looks like I did it right then in the outside light I see unevenness. Even with those lotions that gradually tan you. This year I hope to just sit in the sun for a few minutes and get my vitamin D and tan. I’m going to try a lotion that’s been around a long time. It’s kind of like leg makeup. I can’t think of the name of it. I’ve used it in the past. I’m glad you are okay I got worried about you.

  2. I wonder if I am the only one that can’t get an even tan when using a mit to apply it. That’s why I have given up on applying a faux tan.

  3. This one does sound good. Every Spring I buy sunless, one you recommended and last year one Cyndi recommended. Each time I never used it. I’d talk myself out of it due to the feel and afraid to get on my clothes and sheets….. white ones mainly. Plus I don’t do chemicals on my skin as I went clean on all make up etc best I could years ago. It’s good to hear this is clean. I’d like to check out what’s in it. I just hate the whole process so I know I shouldn’t order lol Just a few days outside in shorts helps me get some color for the Summer. At my age I don’t need to be dark just alittle color. I don’t sunbath but try to just get some natural sun while out and about. Good Vitamin D too. Thanks for sharing this. I might try it. Question….. if it doesn’t have that dreaded Tanner scent what does it have?…..I can’t do purfume smells. Also does the spray mist stain the shower at all? Mine is fiberglass. I tried drops once in my own non scented lotion but the drop smell was very purfumy…. Are these drops? Thanks

  4. Would love to see a before and after, or side by side legs… Would you purchase this again when this runs out… or would you return to a tried and true?

  5. I’m going to try Dolce. Once the weather warms I’ll be ready to step out of my hose. I’ve used Sally Hansen and Best Bronze. If not applied judiciously both can result in an orange glow or that fake baked look. I’ve also experienced some transfer onto my clothing. Given today’s high dry cleaning costs that’s another consideration.
Thanks for the tip, Jo Lynne!
