Hi friends, happy Wednesday! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately, where I share my everyday outfits from the past couple of weeks. This round includes the last few days of our Maine vacation, a few gatherings and social events, and lots of hot, humid days working from home.

A lot of these pieces are on sale, whether through the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale or one of the other summer sales that tend to pop up this time of year. I’ll do my best to call them out as I go!
Two Weeks of Everyday Summer Outfits
Sizing Notes: For reference, I’m 5’5″ and currently wear a size 29 in denim, a small or medium in tops and dresses, and generally an 8.5 in shoes (though I often size down to an 8 in backless styles).
Picking up where I left off last time… Still in Maine, where I vacationed with my family, I wore this tank top and shorts to hang out at our lake house. Nothing new here, I never get tired of pairing black with olive green.

Later that day, I changed before heading down the road to visit family for dinner. This outfit just felt a little more appropriate for the occasion. FYI, the sweater tank is a great price, and it also comes in blue and white.

The next day, Paul, Becca, and I were up and out bright and early to hike The Bubbles in Acadia National Park. I dressed comfortably in jean shorts, a linen blend tank, and On Cloud sneakers.

We made it back in time to enjoy the lake for a bit before heading into town for dinner. I wore this brown sweater top with wide leg jeans and my favorite jelly sandals.
FYI, this tortoiseshell bangle set is lightweight and not nearly as noisy as some of the others I have. It’s a great option when you want something a bit more subtle.

We spent our last full day in Maine exploring two of our favorite coastal towns, Castine and Blue Hill. It was a fairly mild day, so I wore the same black tank, this time with olive wide leg pants. These pants are super lightweight, stretchy, and comfortable, so perfect for warm summer days. They’re also 20% off right now at Bloomingdale’s!

The next morning, it was time to head home to Pennsylvania. I went back to my wide leg jeans and sneakers for the flight and paired them with this cute pink Free People top.
I like both pieces, but I’m not sure I love them together. I think this top would look better with denim shorts or my Madewell Jules slim straight jeans. I also brought along my stone-colored Lounge Denim Jacket in case I got cold on the plane.

That night, we had a friend’s birthday party to attend. I tried a few outfits with the Aritzia Lodge Pants in the chocolate brown linen that had arrived while we were away.
The first two tops, while I like them individually, didn’t really do anything for me with these pants. I think they need something with a little more structure on top.

These next two tops worked better, although I think the green ribbed tank feels a little too casual for these pants. I like the monochromatic look, but I think it needs a few more accessories or a stronger focal point to really come together.

It was a really hot and humid night, so after all that, I ended up ditching the linen pants altogether and wore a tank top with a denim skirt instead.
I finished the outfit with my brown leather flip-flops with the stone embellishments and a few pieces of jewelry to dress it up a bit.

I had planned to wear the monochromatic brown linen pants outfit to church the next morning, but then I remembered I had nursery duty. Instead, I wore that same brown sweater top from EVEREVE with my Frank & Eileen wide leg trouser jeans, which seemed a little more practical.
I intentionally skipped a necklace since I knew it wouldn’t last long while I was holding babies in the nursery. I also ended up taking off the bangle once I got there, but I really like the way it finishes this outfit.

We came home, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and then changed for the pool. We had family in from out of town, and fortunately it turned out to be the perfect pool day.
I wore my new STYLEST swimsuit and cover-up. As a reminder, you can use code JOLYNNE15 for 15% off sitewide.

After the pool, I threw on this easy shorts outfit to make dinner and wear for the rest of the evening.

The next day was a casual Monday of working from home and getting everything ready for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I also ran out for a manicure late in the afternoon.

And then it was finally time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! (You can see all my coverage HERE.) I wore my utility vest and the PAIGE Anessa jeans with the twisted outseam. I chose these perforated Mary Jane flats mostly because my fingernails said fall while my toenails still said summer. But I do think they work with the outfit.
I finished the look with the cord pendant necklace set, my Madewell silver cuff, and chunky hoops to coordinate with the silver hardware on the vest and shoes. You definitely don’t have to match your metals, but when the hardware is as prominent as it is on this vest, I think keeping the jewelry in the same tone makes the outfit feel a little more cohesive. And honestly, it just makes me happy, so I usually do.

After a photo shoot the next day, I threw on this comfy outfit to run a few errands. It was the perfect chance to take the Vince textured hobo bag from the #NSale for a spin and break in my new Reformation glossy black leather flip-flops.

I had a hair appointment the next day, and just for the heck of it, I pulled out this merino wool travel dress that I hadn’t worn yet. I paired it with those glossy black leather flip-flops, which I think is the perfect casual-chic combination. And I carried the Vince hobo again and added the cord pendant necklace set and the chunky amber and black resin bangles from the #NSale.

Was it a bit much for a trip to the hair salon? Maybe. But honestly, most of my days are pretty ordinary, so if I save the fun outfits for special occasions, I’d hardly ever wear them.
It also gave me a chance to see how this dress wears over the course of a full day and experiment with what I need to wear underneath it to feel confident while still being comfortable, in case it ends up coming with me to Paris in September. For what it’s worth, the Wacoal Body Base Shorty worked well. It gives me a little more support than the Thigh Society Cooling Shorts but isn’t as constricting as the SPANXsculpt OnCore Shorts.
I had to run out early the next morning for a few errands, and I went in the opposite direction with an old graphic tee and jean shorts. I still think it’s a cute look, though!
I took the opportunity to try out the new AllSaints Alba Shine Leather Crossbody from the #NSale. I have to say, the bags are especially good this year!

After a long day of work, I changed before heading over to a friend’s house for the evening. Yes, black and olive again! We were going to be indoors, so I pulled out the PAIGE Ari drawstring pants and paired them with a different black tank…this is my version of variety, haha.
The rag & bone shoulder bag had just arrived from the #NSale, and it felt perfect for this look. This is a gorgeous bag, by the way. The leather is buttery soft, I love the clean, minimalist design and the silver buckle hardware on the adjustable shoulder strap. It also has a large exterior slip pocket on the back that’s perfect for dropping in my phone. I’m thinking this could make a great travel bag this fall.
I also added this fun resin cord necklace and a wood bracelet from EVEREVE paired with a gold beaded bracelet from another set. And yes, it’s those Reformation flip-flops again!

Saturday was overcast and stormy, and we had no plans. I spent most of the day working, doing more try-ons and catching up on computer work, so I pulled on this comfy combo again.

I got dressed for church on Sunday, but never made it. I wasn’t feeling well, so I stayed home to rest. I love this outfit, though—so much so that I ended up photographing it with Alison on Monday.

I rallied to go to a FIFA watch party that afternoon, which also turned into a bit of a family reunion. It was so nice to catch up with relatives we hadn’t seen in a while.
The white jeans and heels didn’t feel quite right for the occasion, so I changed into this striped dress—and yes, the Reformation flip-flops again! I also got to carry yet another #NSale bag that came in… I’,’ll say it again, there are so many good ones!

I ended up draping a black cashmere crewneck over my shoulders, which looked cute and gave me a lightweight layer for the air conditioning.

Monday brought another photo shoot, and I wore this casual outfit for the rest of the day. These red jelly Mary Janes from DSW add a fun, trendy pop of color to an otherwise simple outfit, and they’re a great price, too. The colorful necklace and bracelets are from Noonday, and I love how they pick up on the red in the shoes.

And that’s really all I have to show for myself this week! Yesterday I was back in my Athleta Getaway Linen Blend Muscle Tank and Ruti On The Loose Work Pants, working from home all day, and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing that same outfit again today. I just got back from Pilates, and I’ll be working from home again except for a quick trip to my friendly chiropractor. He’s still doing active release therapy on my hip, which has been giving me trouble for months now. I thought it was finally getting better, but it doesn’t feel very good today.
Aging…ain’t it grand? Then again, as my mother always used to say, it beats the alternative!
I hope you found a little summer style inspiration here, despite the many repeat looks. We’ll be at the shore next week, so I should have plenty of beach vacation outfits to share in the next edition!
