Welcome back to 27 Days of Spring Fashion! Shannon from Gamine & Stripes is joining Cyndi and me today, and I think you’re really going to like her style.
Today I’m teaming up with Payless again to bring you a spring outfit featuring this adorable Ella Espadrille Wedge.
This shoe reminds me of a teacher I had back in third grade. Yes, that was a loooong time ago! The espadrille wedge was all the rage back in the 80s, as many of you may remember, and she had a pair in at least three colors. I always thought they were so ladylike and feminine.
When I saw them at Payless last week, I grabbed them and put them on. The are the perfect height for those of us with finicky feet. They have more support than flats, but they’re not so high as to risk life an limb with each step.
They also come in red canvas, white eyelet, and a crisp black-and-white stripe. I debated the striped ones, but for some reason the solid black spoke to me.
You can totally wear an espadrille wedge with cropped pants and shorts, but I though it would look especially cute with a skirt so I styled it with my jean skirt (similar) and a coral tee (30% off at LOFT!!!)
I accessorized with a gold pendant and these coral mini-chandeliers, and I carried a neutral bag.
This outfit will take you to volunteer at your kids’ school, to run errands on a Saturday, out to lunch with friends, or even to church if you have a casual dress code. It’s so easy, but cute and put together!

Adorable!!
Love those shoes, the height looks perfect! I love the look of wedges but I’m tall so a full wedge is just too much for me, plus who wants to risk twisting an ankle chasing after the kids?
I’ve always been a fan of espadrilles, even though I don’t own any. It’s that perfect in between sized heel. I really like how you’ve styled them with your cute denim skirt!
P.S. You don’t ever stop worrying about your children. My son is 24 and will be flying alone for the first time this week, ha!
Really cute outfit and shoes!! The shoes look super compfy! Did you front tuck your shirt in and then blouse it? It’s cute.
Yes, I did. I wasn’t sure what to do with it. I miss the more fitted, shorter t-shirts that were in style a few years ago. They seemed to work so much better with skirts. I just did what I do with jeans and it’s okay. Not as crazy about it from the back. I’m very short waisted, so it’s not my best look. 🙂
Those wedges are adorable. What a great, feminine, “go to” spring shoe. They’re a practical height for moms too. 😉 What a privilege to be co-posting with you two ladies today! Thanks you so much for the opportunity!!
xx-Shannon
Those look like they would be perfect for me. As I may have mentioned a few times, I am not the most coordinated person. These look like they would be comfortable enough to wear all day at work too! Definitely going to check them out!
Payless has the best shoes out there for the price!! Those espadrilles are the perfect height since you could wear them with skirts—thanks for showing us that! jodie

I need to checkout the espadrilles! They look like the perfect solution. Your outfit is great and I like the eye glasses. I’m glad your older fighter did well and hope the younger one is feeling better. I know your son will have a blast!
God bless!
Love the espadrilles! Thank you! Have to tell you that my son is a director of a huge high school marching band and he watches the students like a hawk and worries about them all week when they go to Disney World. Your son will miss you too! I’ve heard that when they open the gates (for the parade to begin) and the band members get a view of the streets lined with people, they get all choked up and can’t play their instruments!
Our band director is well seasoned and I totally trust him. It’s just hard to let go. 🙂 I wish we’d planned to go down and see him play.
Love the glasses in these photos (plus the lovely shade of your shirt!). I heard about your blog from Shannon at Gamine & Stripes, and now I follow your fashion ideas on Instagram (as well as Cyndi). Thank you for co-posting with Shannon and giving her such a fantastic opportunity! I’m learning so much from you gals about making modest and attractive fashion choices. : ) (I also really like your ideas on workout/running clothes, too).
Thanks so much! I’m so glad Shannon and Cyndi and I could introduce our audiences to one another. 🙂
Love the shoes plus the lovely color of your shirt. I enjoy your daily emails. Thank you so much for that. I have liked all your emails
so far ha ha!. Keep them coming. You are doing a fabulous service.
Old ladies living in Florida only wish they looked that good. Lol! The shoes are really cute, and they look very comfortable. I think shorts would maybe have a more youthful look. Those old ladies don’t like shorts. Hahaha!
Hi, remembered this post and while I went in to buy my boys some spring shoes. I remembered these espadrilles. I too liked and bought the black pair. I also liked the striped. Too, I bought a pair of white pumps. The footbed is super comfortable. And, trust me, do I prefer pricey shoes, but these were great for being on a budget. Usually, Payless tend to fit wide for me, as I have a skinny, narrow foot. Overall, very affordable, good fit, and quality. Who woulda known? Thanks for sharing, as I would have passed getting new spring shoes this season.
I like your casual look today. tt might not be your favorite look, but you are so good about trying to style for everyone and us older grandmas really appreciate all your fashion ideas. (By the way, you do not look old in that outfit). As for being a mom, I saw something on Facebook yesterday that said “being a mom is signing up for a 24/7 job”. It’s so true!
I love those shoes. I have 2 pair of espadrille wedge sandals, with a bit more of a heel than those. Even though my feet are finicky, those work well for me. I have a trip to Payless planned for next week, and I’ll have to keep my eyes open for some shoes like that.
I just love that skirt!!
Absolutely gorgeous denim jacket and skirts go girl
