Welcome back to Fashion Over 40: Daily Mom Style, where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web!

Fashion for Women Over 40: Outfit Ideas

I wore this one mild day last week to run errands and work from home. I picked up the Ramones burnout tee at Kohl’s. It’s their Rock & Republic Brand, which I love.

I love the edgy vibe, and the relaxed styling is easy to wear. Plus, I enjoy a little punk rock every once in a while. I Wanna Be Sedated was on my running playlist for ages. I know, go figure.

I just wore it with my favorite skinnies and ballet flats. I felt like the outfit needed a statement earring, so I took the opportunity to wear these new Silpada Half Moon Earrings.

Finally, yesterday I wore this outfit to meet Colleen for lunch. Yes, I got to have lunch with my fabulous food contributor. The irony is I wore green, and she’s didn’t, and she’s the one who is Irish. Go figure!

I got this jacket in my last Stitch Fix. It’s perfect for spring. I accessorized with my orange Tory Burch Logo Bracelet and Alex and Ani bangles. Gotta get a hint of orange in there as a nod to my Protestant heritage. I also wore gold earrings and a gold necklace.

  1. i love the pops of colors in these outfits. I am going to look for colored jeans and I love the Ramones shirt.

  2. Please tell me what type of flats you wear. I have yet to find a pair that do not cause blisters or hurt unless they are sandels and it is too cold in early spring for sandels…thanks!

    1. Hey Kathy. In the post, I linked to the flats I’m wearing in these pictures. I have a lot of ballet flats, and some are more comfortable than others, but I don’t usually have a problem with blisters. The Taos Untold are very supportive, and I love my Cobb Hill Emma flats (not shown in this post: https://bit.ly/1DC9R5d). Hope that helps!

  3. Do you color your own hair or have it done and what is the color you use…it looks do pretty and natural.
thank you for all the encouragement you give! God bless!

    1. Hi Nancy, Thank you so much for the kind words! A while back, it was thinning terribly and I was afraid I’d never have hair again. I’m so thankful it has grown back in, and every time someone compliments me on it, it makes me so happy! 🙂 I do color it – just to cover the grey and keep it shiny. I always try to match my natural hair color, and I go to the salon because I’m scared to touch it myself, lol. Plus, at home hair coloring sounds messy. Ha!

  4. Hello,
I just wanted to say that you are never “just” anything!! Especially when referring to your status as work-at-home mom! Love the posts! Especially the weekly wrap up in case I missed something.

    1. LOL, thanks, Wendy. 🙂 I suppose that isn’t the best way to word that, huh? But seriously, when you see the stuff the “real” fashion bloggers put out – the high style, the perfect photos – it is hard not to feel like a wannabe sometimes. Not that I really want to do that, but you know what I mean. 🙂

  5. I just love how you put together your outfits and accessories. Do you go to ebay for purses a lot? If so, do you have any tips you would like to share. I am so afraid of not getting what I think I am buying. Thanks for all the work you do on your blog it is very inspiring.

    1. Hi Kathy, I have bought purses on ebay, but I usually get mine when they go on clearance sales – that is why the color I have is often no longer available in stores online when I feature them. So then I show the ebay option for people who might want them. You definitely have to be careful buying in ebay because there are a lot of fakes, but there are a lot of good deals to be had as well. I don’t think I’ve ever been burned on a purse, but I was burned on a Tiffany’s bracelet once, lol. It depends on the brand. I don’t think Rebecca Minkoff is popular enough to have fakes yet.
