Welcome back to my weekly Fashion Over 40: Daily Mom Style post where I share what I wore this week and link up with other fabulous fashion bloggers around the web! I’m just a mom trying to stay fabulous after 40 and sharing how I translate the current trends to work for a typical suburban mom. I hope you find some fashion inspiration here.
I wore this one mild day last week to run errands and work from home. I picked up the Ramones burnout tee at Kohl’s. It’s their Rock & Republic Brand, which I love.
I love the edgy vibe, and the relaxed styling is easy to wear. Plus, I enjoy a little punk rock every once in a while. I Wanna Be Sedated was on my running playlist for ages. I know, go figure.
I just wore it with my favorite skinnies and ballet flats. I felt like the outfit needed a statement earring, so I took the opportunity to wear these new Silpada Half Moon Earrings.
Shop the look: Ramones burnout tee // DL1961 Florence Skinnies (mine are Topeka Wash) // Taos Untold Ballet Flats (ON SALE!) // Silpada Half Moon Earrings // Rebecca Minknoff MAC Mini (current colors) // Michael Kors Chain Bracelet Watch // David Yurman Oval Link Bracelet // Nail Polish: Zoya Elodie
This is the first spring outfit I pulled out of my closet this year. I’ve been dying to wear these mint jeans again, and this white tee from White House Black Market has been hanging in my closet, just waiting for the first mild day. The shoes are from the Payless Dexflex comfort collection. I LOVE them.
I love these perfect fit tanks from J.Crew. In fact, I just ordered FIVE of them. Yes, I did. They are on sale, and my tanks need to be freshened up.
Shop the look: Ann Taylor cashmere hoodie (sold out) // J.Crew perfect fit tank (ON SALE!) // Mavi skinnies // Hunter Original Gloss Wellies in graphite // Silpada Duomo Necklace // hammered silver hoop earrings (old) // Rebecca Minknoff MAC Mini (current colors) // Michael Kors Chain Bracelet Watch // David Yurman Oval Link Bracelet // Nail Polish: Zoya Elodie
On Sunday, I wore the black and white striped tunic I picked up at White House Black Market when I was shopping on Saturday with my ponte pants and black pointy-toe flats.
I decided it was time to dust off my favorite green handbag. I love this bright spring green.
I thought you might want to see a photo of the back of this outfit. I like that the sweater is plain black in back. The button detail on the sleeves is cute, and the asymmetrical styling is fun and flattering.
I accessorized with a long gold necklace, gold teardrop earrings, and a gold link bracelet, all from my Stella & Dot boutique.
Shop the look: WHBM Asymmetrical Stripe Tunic Sweater (ON SALE!) // Banana Republic ponte knit pants (similar) // Nine West black pointy-toe flats (here and here) // Stella & Dot Goddess Teardrop Earrings // S&D Jackie Link Bracelet // S&D Chelsea Necklace (retired) // Rebecca Minkoff Cupid Satchel (ebay)
Finally, yesterday I wore this outfit to meet Colleen for lunch. Yes, I got to have lunch with my fabulous food contributor. The irony is I wore green, and she’s didn’t, and she’s the one who is Irish. Go figure!
I got this jacket in my last Stitch Fix. It’s perfect for spring. I like the 3/4-length cuffed sleeves that show a hint of the polka-dot lining. I couldn’t decide if I preferred it buttoned or unbuttoned. I know unbuttoned is a more current look, but I sort of like this one buttoned. What do you think?
I accessorized with my orange Tory Burch Logo Bracelet and Alex and Ani bangles. Gotta get a hint of orange in there as a nod to my Protestant heritage. I also wore gold earrings and a gold necklace.
And that’s a wrap!
