So far our first week of summer vacation is well under way. My house and desk are both a disaster, I’m already backlogged on work, and I haven’t made a home-cooked meal yet, but I’ve managed to meet a friend for coffee, we’ve joined a new swimming pool and visited twice, I’ve hosted two sleepovers, and last night I won a competitive game of Ticket to Ride against my husband and my son (no easy feat.) In other words, it’s been a great summer so far.
I’m hoping to get my house and desk organized…. at some point. But first, I have to make a double batch of Belgian waffles for 3 hungry teenage boys and then get to my workout appointment. When I get back, I’m sure I’ll have even more emails to sort through, more mess in my kitchen, and more kids begging for the swimming pool and sleepovers. And so it goes! Meanwhile, here’s what I wore this week.
I found this gray skirt in the back of my closet. It was an impulse buy at Banana Republic a few years ago, as I recall. At the time, I wanted it in a smaller size, but I had to settle for this one because they had limited stock. I’m really glad I went up a size because it fits perfectly now. Ha! I paired it with my purple tank because I love grey and purple together.
I love how the Isabelle Wrap Bracelet works with the purple top, so I went with gold in the rest of my jewelry. The engravable disc necklace with my first initial and hoop earrings are both easy pieces that go with almost everything.
The bag was a splurge last summer. I had my eye on it for months, and when it went on sale, I snagged it. It is no longer available in this color, but I linked to other color options below. It is definitely spendy, but it’s such a classic, I know I will have it for many years.
I wore these cork molded footbed sandals for comfort because I’ve been weaning out of my foot brace. (Yes, again.) The Walking Company sent these to me to try out, and I’ve been so grateful to have them. They are supremely comfortable, and the adjustable velcro straps allow me to wear them with the foot brace if I need to.

I styled this outfit around my new Kuhfs. You can read all about them here.
Don’t you love my furry little friend? She would not leave me alone when we were taking pictures, so we decided to let her photo bomb us.
This tunic was from Stitch Fix last fall. It’s not my usual silhouette of choice, but it’s fun for a change, and I love the color.
The sandals are Fryes. They’re super old, and I confess, I didn’t wear them for long because they don’t have the support I need at the moment, but I thought they worked perfectly with this outfit.

I wore this outfit on Friday, the day we traveled to Pittsburgh.
I LOVE this Madewell jean skirt. It is so so so comfortable. The denim is super soft, and it has a lot of stretch to it, so I can get in and out of the car with ease, but it doesn’t ever stretch out. Perfection.
I paired it with my infamous orange tank. I think I will have a ceremony and bury this in my backyard when I’m done with it. Ha!
Oh, and I CUT MY HAIR! I decided it was too long, so I went back and had her take more off. Here’s a look at the back.
The necklace is from the new Fall 2015 Stella & Dot line. It actually is part of a set of two. I love how you can wear them separately or together. And the bracelet was a Christmas gift from my sister-in-law. I thought the blue complimented the orange in my top.
The sandals are another pair The Walking Company sent me to try out from their 2015 summer sandals. The footbed is super soft, and I love the medallion detail.

On Saturday while we toured Pittsburgh and went to a ballgame, I wore my Ramones tee and cut-offs with my pink Pumas. The only pictures I have were taken while we were sightseeing. This was before we went up the Monongahela Incline.
And after we got to the top, overlooking the city. Pretty cool, huh!?

On Sunday, I wore my Athleta Dot Fuse dress to ride home and tour Fallingwater.
I love how easy this dress is to wear. It is incredibly comfortable. I wore my silver Orthaheel sandals, and I carried my silver carryall, which is my go-to bag when traveling. Both the shoes and bag are old and no longer available.
I wore my silver Silpada circle necklace and hoop earrings, and here’s a close-up of my haircut before it frizzed out in the rain.
This one was actually taken at Fallingwater in the Visitor Center while we were waiting for our tour to start.

And that’s a wrap. I haven’t worn much besides a swimsuit since we got home from Pittsburgh. Summer Daily Mom Style might be slim pickin’s.

I love the hair…I bet it’s cooler for the summer months!!
I think my favorite is the reddish tunic with the kuhfs—I think the tunic works well because everything else is fitted! And the kufts add some visual interest! (And I love the furry accessory at your feet–so cute!) jodie
