Shearling vests are a big trend this season, and I shared in an earlier post that I am on the hunt for The One. I had a black one that I returned because I felt it was aging and I wanted something more casual. This Dylan Vintage Faux Shearling Vest is definitely more in my comfort zone.
I like how the grey is a bit unexpected. Usually we see this style in shades of brown. It has a luxurious feel to it, and it lays nicely. I think it’s a keeper!
I wanted to keep the look casual and wearable, so I styled the vest with a long-sleeve white tee and my destructed black jeans. This white tee with hi-low hem is only $18 and it comes in 6 colors. It’s a great layering piece for under vests like this and long cardigans. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium. It’s not super thick, but it’s not as thin as some t-shirts. I can wear it without a layer underneath.
I also took this opportunity to debut my new moto boots that were sent to me from Pour La Victoire. I love how these moto boots are a little bit tough, but the grey suede keeps them classy. The bar studded panels give them that rockstar vibe that I enjoy. They are also super comfortable. I wanted to wear them all day.
Pour La Victoire is my newest affiliate partner. Their mission is to deliver refined, wearable, everyday luxury with a contemporary feel. Their shoes are crafted with Italian leathers, and they attempt to give classic silhouettes an edgy refresh. The price point is a bit higher than my usual, but if your budget allows a few luxury indulgences, you will definitely want to poke around on their website and check out their offerings. Plus, if you can wait for Black Friday/Cyber Monday, you will get 30% off your order.

Funny thing, after I chose these boots, I saw them on a celebrity in People Style Watch. I guess I have arrived!
By the way, can we just discuss how cool this location is!?! My husband and I went driving around on Saturday to find some new places to get cool outfit photos, and we found this. I totally want to get family photos here sometime.
I carried this crossbody bag in port to give the outfit a pop of color. I love grey and burgundy together.
I know these jeans aren’t for everyone, but of course you could recreate this outfit with regular (non-destructed) black jeans. Blue jeans would be cute too. Or how about a deep burdundy!?! I don’t have any that color, but they would be fabulous with this grey vest and the boots.
I accessorized with silver. These Silpada Half Moon Earrings are fabulous, and I often wear them with my edgier outfits.
So what do you think? Is this vest a keeper?

Confessions of a Frumpy Mommy
Doesn’t it!? I’m enjoying the trend.
I was going to wear my vest today and was so happy to see you styling yours… Thanks for your daily encouragment and smile… Super cute!!!
Thanks, Debbie!
The vest is definitely a keeper Jo-Lynne! I bought a similar vest at Target & love it, except that it sheds on my clothes. I do love the location y’all used. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Ginger!
Love that vest! I sent my husband the Kate Spade link you shared yesterday and he ordered a purse for my Christmas. I’m so excited! Thank you…the prices were amazing.
YAY! Merry Christmas!
It’s definitely a keeper! It looks great with your booties and jeans.
Love the whole look on you Jo-Lynne., especially those boots!! I love it when you style an outfit with a big of edge to it. I tend to gravitate to that look as well. Not sure I can get on the fur vest bandwagon, but the shearling vest, well……maybe. I love yours because it is not the typical shearling vest color you see everywhere. The gray is very pretty and unexpected.
One of the many things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving is how you and Cindy are so thoughtful and gracious in keeping the Facebook group going. Not only do we get great style ideas from the both of you, but we also get to see how others create the same or similar looks. It’s been fun! I haven’t posted a photo yet, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the group, so thank you.
Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving.
Lori
Aw, thanks, Lori! I really enjoy the FB group. 🙂 Happy Thanksgiving to you too!
Definitely a keeper! Looks great on you.
Love love this outfit!!! Could you just come help me redo my whole wardrobe?! Lol. Love all your outfits, thank you!! Always so put together, love it. And the boots, oh my goodness!! Yep another great choice. Lol.
Waa! Love the vest and the way it folds gently over the girls. But alas, my pocketbook can’t do that price. You sure make it a temptation, though. Love the edgy , contemporary fun of this outfit.
You’re so funny. xo
Love love this on you! I’m just getting through my email from a week or so back. I hosted Thanksgiving and couldn’t keep up! Wish I had waited for the grey but I bought the tan instead. Oh well, no way to tell what will be available and there is always something out there we want! This may be my fav outfit you have styled yet!!!
Sincerely,
Leslie
Thank you, Leslie! I don’t think you can go wrong with brown. You will love it. 🙂
