Mom About Town

Happy Tuesday, friends! Another week is rolling right along.

Today I’m taking it down a notch or two and bringing you a casual “mom about town” look featuring this super soft and cozy ribbed hoodie sweater from LOFT.

I love the casual, laid-back styling combined with a soft ribbed knit. It’s more polished than a sweatshirt, but just as comfortable and relaxed.

Best of all, this sweater is on sale plus an additional 50% off, and it also comes in grey.

I styled it just like I would a sweatshirt — with light wash jeans and fashion sneakers.

I’m still loving my AG Primas, and I can’t believe they’re still on sale and fully stocked.

I gave them a wide cuff, making sure to leave a couple inches of skin showing at the ankle.

And I carried my trusty Everlane tote. It’s the perfect carryall for a day of errands, and the light taupe goes with almost everything.

A while back, I tried at least 10 different pairs of white fashion sneakers at a wide range of price points, and I landed on the Veja Esplar. While they seemed stiff at first, they broke in easily.

I love the minimalistic styling and the quality leather, and they just have that hard to pin-point “cool girl factor” that I really like. (I’m not a cool girl, but I play one on the Internet.)

I just wore a simple pair of pearl earrings for accessories . . . and my favorite sunnies, of course!

For size reference, I have the sweater in a size small and the jeans in a size 29.

  1. Well, I guess I’m a mom about town kinda girl. I wore that exact combination yesterday, only the brands were different. Haha! I love that hoodie, but seriously how many hoodies can one mom have?? I liked the outfit yesterday! I agree nice to see new trends and very nice to see something other than skinnies. 😊

  2. I love this outfit!!! You look so cute. So sad this sweater has wool!!l😭😭😭 if you come across any non wool options similar to this one let me know.

  3. Great outfit. As moms of young or old we need to look put together and stylish but don’t have to necessarily over think it. Cool and comfy:)

  4. This look is more me but I enjoyed yesterday’s also. You looked great and something about the edgier style was appealing!

  5. This outfit is proof that you can look put together with a simple outfit. I love this look. I wore the same thing this week only with a marled gray hoodie (FatFace), Joe’s skinnies and my Frye white leather sneakers. I adored yesterday’s outfit. I feel like my eye is beginning to adjust to the look.

  6. I liked yesrerdays look on you. While the look might not be for everyone I feel if you think you look good in it that’s all that matters. We as women are quite often far too judgemental of our flaws. Let’s embrace what clothes make us feel wonderful and pretty!

    1. Just to clarify, I don’t feel anyone was judgy. Some just don’t feel like it’s a look for them, and some of the tall girls get PTSD looking at cropped jeans (haha!) That’s fair.

And yes, I totally agree, at the end of the day, we should wear what makes us feel wonderful and pretty! That’s all that really matters. 🙂

  7. You look very comfy in today’s outfit yet still stylish. I love the cashmere hoodie!

To us, you are that Cool Girl! We get to watch you figure out the trends for mature women and then, follow suit.

  8. I like this outfit and you look good in it.  I thought that the sweater was a sweatshirt.  It is such a pretty color on you.  I am still learning to cuff my pant legs and making sure that the right amount of my ankles shows.  I hope you had a great day!  We are enjoying the much needed rain!

  9. Love this pulled together, yet casual, outfit! Have you found any completely hidden/no show socks that DON’T slide down in the shoe? Thanks!

  10. This is exactly my style. I work in a manufacturing office so I can dress this casually for work. However, I like to up the style quotient by pairing my jeans w/ pretty sweaters, tops, blazers and cardigans. That’s why I love your blog so much….you’re style is so close to mine.

  11. Thank you for sharing this sweater! It came in yesterday and I love it! The fit is not tight, but is still flattering and comfy. The color is beautiful. Thank you, thank you!
