I was up early this morning, doing a little scrolling, and a bunch of new pieces at Nordstrom caught my eye, so I decided to do a full roundup! These are the kinds of pieces that make everyday outfits feel fresh without overthinking it. I broke everything into a few easy categories so you can shop based on what your closet actually needs right now.

Fresh Denim for Winter
I found a great mix of tried-and-true silhouettes in fresh new washes, along with a few new-to-me styles that felt worth trying. When I sorted denim by newest, I noticed mostly full-length straight-leg styles, along with some relaxed flares and slimmer wide-leg silhouettes.

While all styles are certainly still out there, it does feel like shapes are starting to consolidate a bit—flares and wide legs aren’t as exaggerated, and straight legs are looking more relaxed. These are all easy, wearable pairs you can build real outfits around all season long.

Sweaters, Knits & Everyday Layers
This is the category that really does the heavy lifting in winter—your everyday layers that keep you warm and make outfits feel finished.

In this mix, I spotted a couple of good, budget-friendly vests, a cozy fleece jacket, a thermal base-layer tee, and a reversible sweatshirt that’s perfect for casual wear. And for the occasions when you want to look a little more polished, there’s also a fun printed mock-neck top from Farm Rio, along with several really good sweaters. These are the kinds of versatile pieces you’ll reach for on repeat all season long.

Shoes to Wear on Repeat
It’s officially messy season, so I rounded up some new boot styles that caught my eye, but I also found some fun new sneakers along with a pair of classic Mary Janes. There are also two great shearling-lined loafer mule options, plus a fresh take on the classic loafer.

These are all easy, everyday styles you can actually build outfits around.

The Finishing Touches
These are the pieces that pull outfits together—great bags, accessories, and those little extras that make everything feel more complete.

I was excited to see that Nordstrom is now carrying Mejuri jewelry; if you like small, dainty pieces to layer, this is such a great brand to know. Their styles feel very on-trend, but also classic enough to keep for years. I also found some really good bags, and even a scarf that’s calling my name. If your outfits ever feel like they’re missing something, it’s usually one of these.
Whether you’re looking to refresh your denim lineup, add some cozy winter layers, or finish off outfits with a great bag or accessory, there are some really solid everyday staples here. Let me know what caught your eye!

I am amazed at these people who are able to wear non-boots in the winter–the loafers and flats appeal to me fashion-wise but I freeze when my feet/ankles aren’t covered. Does the shearling help or make up for it? And I don’t know if I am ready to embrace the socks-and-flats look shown on more fashion-adventurous people! Thoughts?
Yeah, I only wear boots when it’s really cold. I’m not ready to wear socks with loafers, although I would wear a thinner “trouser sock” if my jeans were full length to cover them unless I’m sitting. I wouldn’t wear them with mules, though.
Your Nordstrom links take me to the site but not the specific item. I haven’t yet tried the Paige Sofia…and I could use a new pair of black jeans. (Although I currently have more denim in my closet than one person really needs!!)
Can you tell I’m finished with my Christmas shopping? I’m shopping for me now.
I love the Mejuri jewelry line too. I have a pearl station necklace very similar to theirs but it was made from a Etsy seller. Something else I’ve noticed is that longer pendant necklaces (28”-32”) seem to be coming back around – I think Mejuri has a couple. I’ve always liked the look of a long necklace over a sweater.
Love the All Saints scarf! Style that one soon please! ❤️
Are you on your phone? And is it loading in the app? For some reason, that happens sometimes when people have the app on their phone. I deleted mine for that reason. It’s a glitch on their end, so I can’t fix it. If that isn’t it, I’m not sure why it’s happening.
I have too much denim in my closet too, but I’m about to weed out some that I’m not wearing. I feel like I only wear the same few styles lately.
I am glad to see that full-length denim is continuing to trend. For years, I couldn’t find jeans that were long enough for me to not look out of proportion. It’s definitely time to stock up!
In reference to spacegeek’s question: Full-length pants make wearing socks with flats easier because there isn’t a break in the leg line. The socks just show at the top of the foot when standing. I like to wear knee-high socks with my loafers and t-strap flats, both for warmth and to not have a gap showing skin when seated.
Guess I’ll be shopping at the Rack! Those jeans prices are a little out of control for my budget. Glad I didn’t invest in too wide of legs as well! Lots of fun stuff in the other areas though!
For a couple of years now, I’ve been on the hunt for a double hoop earring-small–that gives the illusion of a double piercing–in silver.
The earring you show is close–but I need all silver and small. Fun stuff to look at here tho….
Thanks jolynne, it’s super helpful having the inseams of the jeans posted. I have long legs and it’s tough finding jeans and pants that are long enough.
