2024 #NSale Try-Ons: Round Two

Okay, it’s time for Round Two of try-ons from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! (Don’t miss my #NSale Try-Ons: Round One that I posted on Wednesday!) These items range from splurge-worthy to budget-friendly, and everything in between. Links and details are below each picture.

Unfortunately, popular items are selling out, but hopefully there will be restocks coming in soon, as people start making returns.

PRO TIP: If you put an item on your Wish List that has sold out, you should get a restock notification via the Nordstrom App when it comes in, if you have that feature turned on. Unfortunately, it does not appear that there’s a way to add the item once it has sold out in your size and color preference.

2024 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Haul

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29 or 30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

Theory Cable Knit Wool & Cashmere Sweater in Palomino

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie (8) // Jenny Bird Hidden Heart Hoop Earrings in Silver

Theory Cable Knit Wool & Cashmere Sweater (XS) // This luxe cable knit sweater is so luxe and soft and gorgeous, but it runs big. I’m actually wearing the XS here. The quality is amazing, it’s the perfect shade of camel, and I love how the slightly flared sleeves give this classic sweater a modern update. Even though it’s 90% wool, it isn’t itchy or scratchy at all. Best of all, it’s still in stock!

The FRAME jeans and Franco Sarto Alexandria Booties I’m wearing are also still well-stocked, and I love and highly recommend both. I would call these jeans more of a bootcut than a flare. The fabric is lightweight and stretchy and comfortable, and they have a generous fit. I would try a size down, if you run in between. They’re nice for wearing now and later.

And these boots are extremely comfortable; they have a very soft shaft, and I love the streamlined look with the snipped toe. The low heel is walkable, and it also has an interesting shape. These boots will look great with ankle-length jeans, to show them off better. They run true to size.

Halogen Johnny Collar Shell in Rich Black

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie (8) // Jenny Bird Hidden Heart Hoop Earrings in Silver

Halogen Johnny Collar Shell (S) // I almost bypassed this in the store because I grabbed my usual size small, and when I went to try it on, I couldn’t even pull it on over my head. But then when I was shopping yesterday, I grabbed it in the medium and told myself to give it a try because it’s such a good top for date nights and such this summer and into fall when it’s still warm.

It definitely runs small, but once I got the medium on, I decided that I really like it. The fabric is kind of thick, almost a scuba fabric, but it has a nice shape, and I love the combination of the sleeveless with the Johnny collar.

1.STATE Crewneck Sweater in Taupe

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie (8)

1.STATE Crewneck Sweater (S) // I love the boxy shape and fluted arms on this sweater, and also the way the sleeves are designed. (I hate drop shoulders, and it seems like so many have them in the sale this year.) Unfortunately, this sweater is low inventory at the moment, and I think I need to size down to the XS. I’m going to keep an eye out for restocks.

Caslon Long Sleeve Thermal Polo in Beige Oatmeal Light Heather

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie (8)

Caslon Long Sleeve Thermal Polo (S) // This is such a good transitional piece, I like how they combined a Johnny collar with the thermal fabric. It’s a great price too, but alas, it is selling out. It’s true to size.

Free People Sandre Cable Stitch Pullover

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Franco Sarto Alexandria Bootie (8)

Free People Sandre Cable Stitch Cotton Pullover (M) // This was on my Wish List from the Preview, but the for some reason I didn’t seek it out when I was shopping in-store on Tuesday, nor did I order it. When I went in yesterday to get them to take the security tag off the Faherty stripe sweater (which is still well-stocked, by the way), I saw this and grabbed it.

The details in the knit are so pretty, and I really love that wide neckline, and how it looks from the back. Unfortunately, I grabbed the medium instead of the small, and it is now sold out in the ivory, but I ordered the Olive Tapenade. I also ordered the Take Me Home Cotton Sweater in Cherry.

WAYF Kai Rib Cap Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater

also wearing: FRAME Le Easy Flare (29) // Vince Cecila Crisscross Sandal (8)

WAYF Kai Rib Cap Sleeve Turtleneck Sweater (M) // This is another item that I grabbed when I was in the store yesterday, and I love it, but it runs small. And sadly, it’s sold out online already.

Vince Cecila Crisscross Sandal in Catalina Blush

Vince Cecila Crisscross Sandal (8) // These sandals are gorgeous and also very comfortable. They’re the ones I’m wearing with the jeans above, but I grabbed this pic from my photo shoot yesterday so you can see them better. They look just as good with dresses as they do with jeans.

I love a Vince sandal, the leather is so soft, and there’s a good amount of cushion in the footbed. The 3″ heel is what I’d call a chunky kitten heel; it has good stability but still aligns with the current trends. They also come in black and flax (a creamy white) and they’re fully stocked!

KUT From The Kloth Ana High Waist Flare Jeans

also wearing: AllSaints Stevie (M) // Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie (8.5)

KUT From The Kloth Ana High Waist Flare Jeans (8) // If you’re looking for budget-friendly flare jeans, this pair is for you! These were the only pair in my store, and they happened to be an 8, so I grabbed them, but they are a little big. I would say to get your true size for KUT denim (which for me is a 6.)

Caslon Crop Utility Jacket

also wearing: AllSaints Stevie Crop Tee (M) // KUT From The Kloth Ana High Waist Flare Jeans (8) // Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie (8.5)

Caslon Crop Utility Jacket (S) // This is another item that was on my radar during the Preview, but for some reason I didn’t purchase in my initial orders. I grabbed it yesterday, and I’m SO glad I did. This jacket is the perfect lightweight fall jacket.

I love the cropped style, it’s definitely the way to update your utility jacket for fall 2024. So happy to tell you that it’s also still very well-stocked in all 4 colors! I really love this navy. It’s true to size, with a bit of a generous fit. There’s definitely room for layering underneath.

KUT From The Kloth Kyra Pleated Stretch Cotton Corduroy Jacket in Cream

also wearing: AllSaints Stevie Crop Tee (M) // KUT From The Kloth Ana High Waist Flare Jeans (8) // Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie (8.5)

KUT From The Kloth Kyra Pleated Stretch Cotton Corduroy Jacket (M) // I’m not big into puff sleeves, so I didn’t intend to purchase this, but a few of you asked for it specifically, so I grabbed it when I was at the store yesterday. I eyed it up and wisely chose the medium because it is definitely a size-up situation.

That said, it is very flattering on, it has a really nice structure to it, and lots of fun details like the buttons on the sleeves, the seaming through the back, etc. The puff sleeves are very subtle, too, but it’s still a little too precious for my personal taste. That said, I think a lot of you will love it. I am crossing my fingers that it gets restocked.

Rails Easton Wool Blend Crop Jacket in Olive

also wearing: MOTHER High Waist Fray Hem Flare Leg Jeans (30) // Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie (8.5)

Rails Easton Wool Blend Crop Jacket (S) // This jacket is already a favorite for fall. The quality is fantastic, and it has the perfect crop length. I love the details like the pleat in the back and the button tabs at the waist, and how it’s not quite as boxy as some, but there’s still plenty of room to layer.

It’s definitely a splurge, but I like my black Rails wool blend jacket from last year so much that I was super excited to find this similar one in olive. I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

FYI, the MOTHER jeans I’m wearing here are fantastic, but unfortunately, they’re only available now in limited sizes. You can watch for restocks, though!

The Blondo Emmalyn Waterproof Bootie is still well stocked, and I really like these. I could seriously own these in all three colors. In fact, I just ordered the chocolate brown suede. I’ve been wanting a chocolate brown bootie for fall, and I ordered the Reiss Mina, but they are kind of a murky brown, and the leather is kind of stiff, and I’m not sure I love them. The fact that the Blondo is waterproof is a huge selling point. Size up half, if ordering!

Bernardo Hooded Puffer Jacket with Bib in Sage

Bernardo Hooded Puffer Jacket with Bib (S) c/o // I have this jacket from last year in the black, and it’s such a good one. The fit is flattering, and it’s very warm. I think this sage color is so pretty, and it also comes in pewter, taupe, and blue. It’s also an amazing price, at $99!

Theory Wool & Cashmere Car Coat

Theory Wool & Cashmere Car Coat (S) // This coat is a total splurge, but it’s absolutely stunning. I saw it online, but it didn’t do much for me until I saw another influencer wearing it. Even then, I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did when it arrived and I tried it on.

I really can’t improve upon the description on the Nordstrom website: “Clean lines and a concealed button placket bring minimalist polish to a longline coat cut from a luxuriously soft blend of wool and cashmere.”

It’s 90% wool, 10% cashmere, and unlined. The fit is generous, so there’s ample room for layering, or you can size down for a closer fit. This is the kind of purchase the #NSale is known for — high quality, classic items from designer brands we love and trust. I know I’ll have this coat for many years.

Frank And Eileen Lauren Polo Dress in Blackberry

also wearing: Birkenstock Madrid (39)

Frank And Eileen Lauren Polo Dress (M) // I have this dress from the Frank & Eileen website in the navy, and I was curious how the #NSale version would compare. You can see a side-by-side below.

British Royal Navy c/o (M) // Blackberry (M)

The #NSale version is slightly longer, and I feel like it’s cut a little more generously throughout, but I have both in the size medium. The polo collar on the #NSale version is a little more relaxed, meaning that it opens up a bit more.

The fabric seems the same, and the amazing fit and cut of the garment also appear to be the same, and I love this blackberry color. I ended up wearing it yesterday, and it wore well throughout the day.

All that said, if you can snag your size, I highly recommend grabbing one of these.

KUT From The Kloth Jacqueline Denim Trucker Jacket

also wearing: KUT from the Kloth Meg (6) // Splendid Faye V-Neck Tee (M) // beek Sunbeam Flip Flops (8) // NAGHEDI Nomad Hobo

KUT From The Kloth Jacqueline Denim Trucker Jacket (S) // As a reminder, my go-to denim jacket it included in this year’s sale, and it’s still fully stocked. It has a slightly oversized fit, and a good amount of stretch, and it runs true to size.

  1. I was going through this post, which was great and so helpful with recommendations and sizing information, but at the end, all I see are a bunch of pictures. No text. Did something happen?

  2. Okay….were counting down 🙂  I sure hope we all don’t overwhelm all of the great links you’ve given us, or the Nordstorm website!  Great post Jo-Lynne! Thanks!!!!!

  3. Thanks so much for all your time and effort.  Makes and overwhelming sale manageable.  15 minutes until I can shop and I have my list ready to go based on all your reviews/picks. 🙂

  4.  I’ve said it before but I will say it again, I love how you do the work for us. I am not a shopper and by you doing the work, I can go for things that I think I’d like to try with a degree of accuracy.   With your critique and size recommendations, I am able to narrow down my choices.  Thank you ever so much for the time and work you put into making us look good.

  5. JoLynne thank you so much for all your hard work and your fashion sense! I am so impressed!

  6. I followed all of your tips and suggestions (links were ready and waiting; several sizes purchased and multiple orders made) and was able to get everything I wanted and MORE!! Here in Louisiana, with a day off from work and a tropical storm looming, what else is there to do?? Thank you for doing all the work on the front end. Now the back end work is mine– trying on, sorting through multiple sizes and styles, and deciding what to keep! Enjoy your trip to Maine! You earned it!

  7. Thanks for doing all the dirty work, Jo Lynne! You made shopping the sale so much easier for all of us (though I don’t think my husband appreciates it as much as I do)! I hope you bought that red Halogen cardigan – you look great in it!

  8. Whew!  You had to be tired when you left Nordstrom because I’m tired just looking at and reading about what all you tried on.  I really appreciate this post because it made me realize that I might need to size up in the booties I ordered.  The booties I have in the attic are all a size 8, but since I wear an 8 1/2 some of the time, I’d rather be safe than sorry, especially since the booties are the one item I REALLY want.  Enjoy the rest of your day.  I hope that your doggie gets to go on vacation with y’all!

  9. Whew! You def deserve to put your feet up and have a glass of wine this evening! Super helpful – thank you SO MUCH!!

  10. What jeans are you wearing with the Halogen crew neck sweater?? they look so good on you and i love the dark wash. Thank you so much for all the time you put into this post. I think you should get the chunky Vince sweater in green:)

    1. I’ve been stalking it but it’s sold out. 🙁 I will keep watching.

I cannot remember about the jeans – I am sorry. I try to take pix of the tags i the dressing room but that day I don’t have all the pix. They are either NYDJ or Kut from the Kloth.

  11. What Ag jeans do you like better out of the 2 you bought?  I thought I loved the Prima Ankle you showed at the try on now you are making me love the ex boyfriend jeans  more.  I can’t decide. Help

    1. I think it depends on your personal style and what you would wear more. I like the Prima better – they’re slimmer, which I feel is more flattering on me personally, and the lack of distressing makes them more versatile and a little more polished. The ex-boyfriend are great too, but I find myself grabbing the Prima and haven’t worn the ex-boyfriend yet.

  12. I’m always amused when you return something for a reason I would keep it. I prefer high-V necks instead of wide or deeper ones and I also prefer my sweaters to hit at least the middle of my hips. If my top feels much shorter than that, I find myself tugging at it all day.

  13. You’re adorable! All those jeans look super cute on you! Looking up some of your recommendations now!

  14. Jo-Lynne I really enjoy these try ons. I am headed to my Nordstroms tomorrow to try on stuff finally! It will be great to know how things look on and how they fit me, rather than all the online fails and returns. I am definitely Going to be referencing this post! You look great in EVERYTHING!
Thank you for all you do for us. I realize how time consuming it is!!!
Question? How do you get the credit if I shop in store?

    Have a Great day!!
    Xo Cindy

  15. Just discovered that Nordstrom is shipping to Canada again!!! Wanted to share with my fellow Canadians.

We lost Nordstrom Canada and it took forever for them to add Canada to the countries included in shipping.

    Very happy about this! 🙂

  16. Great post! Love all the items, sigh! How does the Kut Ana flares compare to the Mother weekender or Frame you featured a few days ago? I like all 3 but trying to budget here and curious if the Kut jeans would work with flats and sneakers and low heel boot later one (unable to wear heels or pointed toe shoes). Thank you for all you do, it’s so appreciated:)

    1. Yes I think the KUT Ana would work with both sneakers and boots. The quality isn’t quite as good and the fabric isn’t as nice, but they’re still great jeans. I think it just depends on what you want to spend.

  17. Thank you for all your help, Jo-lynne! I ordered a bunch of things on Wednesday at 12:00am while they were still stocked well. I hope they all work well for me. We always appreciate all your wonderful help with the N Sale. Otherwise some of us would probably just bypass most of it all together. Enjoy the rest of your summer!!

  18. Wow, Jo-Lynne. These posts have been amazing. Thank you so much for your hard work. I already placed a big order yesterday morning, but am placing a second one this morning. I love the Theory Car Coat– I have an early version in the same color that I snagged a few years ago at Marshall’s, of all places. I love that it’s unlined so it’s not bulky. It’s my favorite “dress coat” of all time. Knowing how many times I’ve worn it and how great it still looks, I highly recommend it.

  19. OH EM GEE that Theory coat!!! 😍 Whyyyy are you tempting me, lol! Heads up, I think the FP sweater you’re wearing is the Sandre Cable Stitch Pullover, not the Take Me Home.

  20. Thank you for all the time and effort you’ve put into your roundups!! I think the link to the ivory Free People sweater is wrong. It links to a different Free People sweater than you’re wearing.

  21. This is always such a fun time! Thanks for doing all the work for us! I’m not as impressed with the sweater selection this year, although I did order a couple. The premium selection is awesome as always. Love your honesty about everything you try on. You’re amazing! 😊

    1. I still have a few coming from Vince, and a couple I know I like b/c I tried them in store, but they didn’t have my size. Like I am excited to get this, and this is a nice layering piece, and this wasn’t in my store and I am still waiting on my shipment.

  22. Thanks so much for all the helpful information! I have a question about the Frank & Eileen polo dress. Awhile back you said you had the navy color in a medium. Is your new blackberry one actually a small? I hope to get one but the medium is sold out. I’m about the same size and shape as you so your input is invaluable.

  23. Wow!!!!! You do such a great job keeping us informed and doing the work for us. I can’t believe how good you are at it. I’m overwhelmed, as I always am with this sale, as I can’t shop until late, but its okay. I end up with something and like you said there is plenty of Fall things to come…..like from Evereve. LOL I have items from this list I’d like to get, so hoping they stay stocked. I’m looking for a low heel bootie in light color, but not suede. When I get suede the longer jeans or even if they touch dye on my booties and ruins them. Seems they do black in leather, but never the lighter colors. Any suggestions? Also looking for more casual look booties, but I know the more pointed(squared off) toes are in right now and look best with the boot cut or flare jeans. Could you also show us how to style dark wash jeans? I have the itty bitty bootcut Wit n’ Wisdom jeans and they are darker than you have been posting and I’m not sure how to style them. I bought them right before Spring and haven’t worn them. Tags still on them. But, I LOVE the fit for me. Wit n’ Wisdom jeans fit my body type and the price is great and they don’t bag out for me.

  24. You ended up with some really great stuff! I love the Theory coat but I honestly have no excuse to spend that much money on a coat since I live in south Georgia lol. I did order the longer version of the Bernardo puffer and I love it! But I’m sort of wondering if the shorter one would be more practical for my needs. In the longer one, the bib and hood can be unzipped and removed. Does the shorter puffer have that feature too?

Thanks so much for all of your hard work! When the NSale is going I stalk your site and Instagram for updates because you are my go-to for fashion advice. 🙂

  25. Great haul! I love the Theory coat but really have no excuse to buy such a spendy coat since I live in south Georgia and we rarely even need a coat. We do have a European trip planned for late fall so I bought the longer version of the Bernardo puffer and I love it! But I’m wondering if the shorter one would be more practical. The bib & hood can be unzipped and removed in the longer one. Does the shorter jacket have that feature?

Thanks so much for all your hard work! You are my go-to source for all things fashion and NSale so I start feeling like a stalker at this time of year! lol

      1. Sorry for the double post. My internet must have been glitchy yesterday. I didn’t think it actually submitted the first time!

  26. It’s around 8p on the East Coast, and I just ordered the Caslon cropped jacket in the ivory. Sizes are limited.

  27. Love the Bernardo puffer on you – especially the soft color. Online, the sage looks a lot more green. Does the picture you posted seem true to color or would you describe it as more of an avocado green in person?

  28. The Theory car coat looks wonderful! However, the description says it is unlined, which is a deal killer in my book. Trying to get coat on over sweaters, etc. What are your thoughts on lined versus unlined and am I just holding on to old thoughts? Ps – once I found your blog I ditched all the others.

    1. LOL, that last comment cracked me up. But thank you. I didn’t have any issue slipping the Theory coat on and off over sweaters. I do think the unlined styles are a little more modern, it allows them to have such a nice drape.

  29. I received my Franco Sarto booties yesterday. I got both the suede and black. I always go up half a size in boots to accommodate socks. The shaft of both feel a bit loose and the suede is especially loose. They look fine with boot cut jeans but I’m not sure they will look good with other shorter bottoms. Did you notice any extra room like I did?

    1. I did not size up half in mine, so they don’t feel especially loose. I don’t plan to wear them with shorter bottoms, I haven’t tried them with anything other than full length flares and wide leg jeans.
