Open Cardigan + Grey Jeans

Good morning and happy 🐫 day! I woke up to a LOFT sale in my inbox, so I thought I’d share this outfit with this hazy purple heather open cardigan.

SALE ALERT >> Starting today you can get 40% off your LOFT purchase with code NEWNOW, and remember that if you don’t want to pay for shipping, you can opt for the Store Pickup option.

I was drawn to this sweater immediately because of the gorgeous color and also because it looks so cozy, and I am confident that despite the warm, humid temperatures that are lingering into late September, the day is coming that I will want to wrap up in a cozy cardigan again.

This cardi is made of that really soft, stretchy knit that doesn’t stretch out or grow on you, but feels so nice against the skin. I also like the open style and draped pockets. For size reference, I’m wearing the small.

I don’t know about you, but whenever I go to put on a pink or purple sweater, my first thought is to pair it with grey jeans. I almost paired that sweatshirt trim sweater (also 40% off!!!) with these jeans for last Saturday’s post, but I wanted to try to keep some variety in my posts, so I did blue jeans and grey booties (my other go-to combo with these shades.)

These jeans are old, but I found this AG pair that looks amazing, and there is also this ripped pair. Both of those are on sale with code SAVEMORE, and for a more budget-friendly option, this pair at LOFT is 40% off with code NEWNOW, and this Wit & Wisdom pair looks good too.

When looking for grey jeans, I’ve learned that I like the darker shades better than the light ones. I don’t know why, but I’ve tried a bunch over the years, and I always end up wearing the light ones once or twice and then giving them away because something looks off. These dark ones are from the #NSale three years ago, and I still love them.

These shoes are from last season, and the grey is no longer available, but there are some sizes left in the black suede, and I actually have half a mind to order a pair because I loooove these shoes. I wear them several times a week through the fall and winter months.

Yes, they’re a bit of a splurge, but they’re half the original price at Nordstrom Rack. They’re Vince, so the quality and comfort are bar none. They’re leather lined so they feel amazing to slip your feet into, and they’re comfortable to wear all day long.

Fortunately there are lots of other options for suede smoking slippers out there at a variety of price points, although I’m having trouble finding much in grey. I ordered the J.Crew ones in navy, and I like them, but they’re not as comfortable as these. They also run really small, so I need to exchange mine for a half size up. If you do order those, order a half size larger than your regular shoe size.

I carried my leather shoulder bag in Putty, and I accessorized with a layered necklace in shades of silver and grey.

I’m excited to tell you that this bag is 25% off in my Putty color, plus you can get an additional savings with code SAVEMORE! Unfortunately the necklace is sold out, but this one is similar. In fact, I just ordered it. Stella & Dot has a BOGO 25% off sale on necklaces right now.

I threw this cardigan over my Madewell muscle tank, but you can wear it over a long sleeve tee when it gets colder, or over a cami for a dressier look. I love this easy outfit for days I’m running errands and working from home.
