The Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale

Happy Thursday, friends! If you haven’t heard, Shopbop’s The Spring Event is here! I put a page in My Shop with ALL my Shopbop sale picks, but the focus of this post is the best jeans in the Shopbop sale.

The Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale

I get so many questions about jeans, and I always recommend buying premium denim when it’s on sale. Well, now is that time! I also buy a lot of spring sandals and shoes during this sale.

Would you like a post on the best shoes in the Shopbop Sale as well? I got my first (of two) orders in yesterday, and the other one should arrive today.

First, the details…

Shopbop is owned by Amazon, so you get free 2-day Amazon Prime shipping on all orders (Amazon Prime member or not) and you get free return shipping within 15 days. That is a very short turnaround, so be aware of that.

Also, they don’t make it easy to print out a return form online, so be sure to save your packaging slip and return form in a safe place.

Okay, let’s get started!

The Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale

AG Farrah

The Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale: AG Farrah

If you read my 5 Favorites denim guide, you will know that my go-to favorite jeans are the AG Farrah skinny ankle jeans. (These jeans generally have a 9.5″ rise and 28″ inseam, for those who know their preferred measurements.)

The Farrah also comes in full-length styles if you’re taller, or if you just prefer a longer inseam length.

I currently have the Farrah in black and several shades of blue.

I find that AG’s white denim is too thin for me, but you may like it.

This pair (pictured below) is my top pick for a lighter wash with a raw hem. I have this exact pair, and they are so good.

This pair is similar, but it has a small slit in the hem. This pair is a little darker, with a traditional sewn hem, and this pair has a gorgeous and very on-trend off-black wash. This pair is the most classic option, but sizes are almost sold out.

Sizing Note: I find the AG Farrah runs true to size. I have typically worn a 29, although with some recent weight loss, I’m now in the 28. If you’re a long-time reader, that will hopefully make sense to you! If you’re new, I’m 5’5″ and around 135# and the 28 is currently my true size.

Shop the AG Farrah at Shopbop’s The Spring Event:

Citizens Rocket Crop

The Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale: Citizens Rocket Crop Skinny Jeans

A long-time favorite is my Citizens Rocket Crop skinnies. I’ve had this exact pair for going on three years, now, and it’s still in stock!

These are a soft, thick denim, and Citizens does a beautiful wash. In the past, I’ve worn these only in spring and summer, but now that cropped styles are becoming more popular in the colder months too, I really need to keep them out year ’round.

The Rocket Crop comes in a ton of great washes right now, and these are a great choice for those who want a cropped skinny. The rise and inseam measurements on these do vary, so check each one to be sure you’re getting the measurements you want. They are typically around a 10″ rise and 26″ inseam.

Sizing Note: I find the Rocket Crop runs a little small. The pair I’m wearing above is a size 30, and I would order a size 29 now.

Shop the Citizens Rocket Crop at Shopbop’s The Spring Event:

Agolde Toni

Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale: Agolde Toni Slim Straight Jeans

One of my newer favorite styles is the Agolde Toni. These are a slim straight cut, and they will be cropped or ankle-length, depending on your leg length. They’re sort of in-between on me.

This is the exact pair I have, but they come in other washes as well.

These jeans have around a 9.5″ rise and 26.5″ inseam, and the leg opening is 11″ as opposed to the 10″ that is most common for skinnies.

This is a more modern cut — straighter and shorter than the skinny jeans we’ve been wearing for the past few years, but not quite “mom jeans.”

I personally think “mom jeans” look better on women who aren’t yet moms; there is supposed to be a bit of irony there. Not to say moms can’t pull them off, but you really have to have the right personal style aesthetic and know how to style them.

This slim straight crop jean is perfect for those of us trying to walk that fine line between current and classic.

Sizing Note: I find the Agolde Toni runs true to size. I have the 28.

Shop Agolde Toni at Shopbop:

Frame Le High Skinny {Burton wash}

Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale Spring 2020: Frame Le High Skinny in Burton wash

These are my go-to grey jeans. I looked high and low for grey skinnies in a darker wash that weren’t the off-black that’s so popular. When I found these, I was thrilled.

There are other washes available in the Frame Le High Skinny, but I haven’t tried any. My experience with Frame denim has been mixed, but they do a good quality pair of jeans that fit and flatter. I just find that sometimes they slide down on me. They don’t bag out, they just slide down. It’s weird.

My grey ones have been okay, but for other washes, I’d probably opt for a different brand.

Sizing Note: These jeans run TTS; I have the 28.

Madewell High Rise Skinny

The Best White Jeans in the Shopbop Sale Spring 2020: Madewell High Rise Skinny Jeans

These are my go-to white skinnies. I actually purchased them lsat year during this sale, and I got a pair for my daughter as well. We both love them.

The denim is VERY thick — not at all see-through. And while it’s not super soft or stretchy, it’s not so stiff that it’s uncomfortable. This gives them a classic skinny appearance — rather than a legging jean like most of my skinnies.

I prefer that for white denim because it is more forgiving and doesn’t show all the lumps and bumps. #thisis47

Sizing Note: These jeans run TTS; I have the 29 from last year, but I will probably need to size down to 28 this year.

Black Jeans

Best Jeans in the Shopbop Sale: Mother The Insider Crop Jeans in Not Guilty

I just re-ordered these Mother Insider crop jeans since they’re on sale. I styled a pair last fall for this post and then returned them because I wasn’t quite ready yet for this silhouette. They run TTS.

There are also some great classic black skinnies in the Shopbop sale, and some bootcut as well. I rounded up some of my best picks below:

  1. Thanks for explaining shop bop and their connections to Amazon. I hope your back feels better certainly not what you needed with a bad hip either:(  Take care and enjoy your bible study. Mine was yesterday.

    1. Yes agree with Dottie,  a trip to your chiropractor would certainly help too.. that’s where I’d be going for relief.

  2. Sorry to hear about your fall. I’ve been in the same spot (on the floor or ground)  several times; fortunately no one has witnessed my lack of grace/general clumsiness & embarrassment yet! Falls can be very dangerous, especially for those who have bone density issues. Glad you didn’t suffer serious injury. Be safe!

  3. OMG your fall sounds bad! It just takes something like that to shake up your world. We’ve all been there. And I think carpet can be worse because your foot can catch on it. Glad you’re feeling somewhat better today and you’ll certainly be more aware on the steps in the future. I know a trip to the chiropractor helps me after a fall. Just take it slow.

    1. Yes, that is so true about carpet, and when I am wearing heels, I try to be SUPER careful on those stairs. But I was barefoot… it was so dumb. Oh well! Could have been a lot worse. 🙂

    1. Thanks, Jo-Anne. And I love that you hyphenate your name! 🙂 Isn’t it a pain, though? More and more websites now won’t allow “special characters” in the name field. Makes me cranky. Haha!

      1. Haha, yes! I get cranky, too “what do you mean you need my full name, but you won’t accept my name!”

  4. I am SO VERY SORRY about your fall down the stairs last night!  I really hope that it did not aggravate your hip.  Great review on the quality denim on sale during the Shopbop sale.  Thank you for explaining what it is!  Enjoy your sunshine.  I’m glad Caroline made it home safely during the nasty weather.  🙂

  5. Thanks for the Jean sale announcement.   I m going to try the grey jeans as I need to replace the ones I have.   And I like the crops too.   Jo Lynne I hope your back feels better and how scary to take a fall downstairs like that.  Put some ice treatment on your back  intermittent  through out the day   That might help the pain.   So glad you weren’t hurt.  That happened to me and it didn’t end well.    Thanks for the post on the jeans.

  6. I’m sorry to hear of your fall. Certainly takes the breath away, I found for myself. Not the tumble of our youth. Glad you are okay and hope your hip didn’t sustain further injury. Be well.
Fabulous & helpful jean post. Love it.
Shoes?  Why yes, of course, a post would be so helpful. I always need shoes (haha).

  7. Sorry about your nasty fall – hope you heal soon!

The Madewell jeans have been on my list for so long – the 9″ rise, white but they don’t have my size anywhere!   I’ve heard so many great things about these jeans, so I’ll keep my eyes open.

Any chance you could do an updated white jeans post?  I know you’ll probably be repeating yourself, but Im hoping there are new ones that I don’t know about…I tend to go up a size in white because no one looks good in tight white jeans.

    1. Bummer that you can’t find them. They really ARE good jeans. Yes, I’ve tried a bunch of white jeans so far this season. I can do a roundup and try to compare them all.

  8. Short stairs are the worse! Let’s hope your back is just bruised. 🤞🏼
Yes, to footwear. I’d love a review on what’s trending in footwear this spring/summer.

    1. It’s funny, I”m usually very aware of them, and try to be careful, especially in heels. But I was barefoot, and talking to my friend, and I dunno… it just happened.

  9. So sorry to hear of your fall. Sooo glad you are ok. It could have been so much worse. My husband fell Feb 16 th running out of church in the pouring down rain. I had gone to the car ahead of him. When I looked up he was laying flat on his face not moving. Long story short he was transferred by ambulance to the ER and had all head scans etc done and he had severe concussion, stitches in chin and two facial fractures. He lost his memory from fall until released from ER 5 hours later. He still doesn’t remember the accident. I tell him that’s probably good, as I do and it scared me to death. 8 yrs ago this happened to him playing basketball with our son and friends and he broke 8 bones in his face and concussion. So he was told he can’t get anymore concussions. Too dangerous. So no more sports for him. He is now doing well and back to work finally this week.  Many prayers were lifted for him. He’s a fire chief and paramedic so very strange for him to be the patient in the ambulance with his crew taking him. :). So Jo-Lynne, the older we get the more we need to slow down and take stairs slower. Just so glad you are ok. Thanks for jean post. I really need to try jeans on. I have never ordered a pair I could keep. I need to figure out what works for me as in the measurements like you know for yourself. I’m 5’3” so crop are rarely crop on me but that weird in between length.

  10. Gosh – sounds like you had a lucky escape- it does give a nasty shock to take a tumble like that!! Here’s hoping you go on ok and no repercussions. 🙏🤞
    best wishes Jane

  11. I’m so sorry to hear about your fall.  I slipped on ice 2 years ago and broke my knee!! It made me realize how quickly something can happen.  I hope your back feels much better soon.  And thank you as always for great jeans recommendations!

    1. UGH! So easy to slip on ice. I remember, when I was having issues with a torn tendon, it was wintertime. Every time I left my orthopedic’s office, he would caution me about the ice. I’m sure he sees a lot of injuries from that!

  12. Oh no! So sorry to hear about your fall. Hope your back is on the mend and you feel better soon. Robaxacet may be of help to ease the aches.

  13. I so hope you are feeling better, JoLynne!  It is so scary how, you think you can run circles, and are in great shape, and then you face plant … I fell on my right shoulder on cement while walking dogs in the wee hours (0’ dark thirty)  of the morning on Dec 23 …. SO NOT a fun Christmas !!! broke my entire shoulder, at the humerus, no surgery possible… so a sling for 2 months, and LOTS of pain, painkillers, and patience !!! And now, joined barre class to get my stamina and strength (and ROM) back !!!! Just weird how things change in an instant !!!

  14. Goodness I am so sorry to hear about your fall! Maybe a nice long soak in a tub with some Epsom salts would help take away some of the soreness. I hope that you feel better soon!

    1. I keep saying I’ll do that, and then I end up just going to bed. LOL! I’ve never been much of a bath person, I guess. But I’m sure it would help. I really should do that today.

  15. Great comprehensive post !

I’m 5’3, so I guess a 26” inseam is where I want to be for a frayed hem jean to look the appropriate length on me ?
Doesn’t look like AG offers petite 🤔

  16. Love all of the jeans.  Now I just need to embrace the price tag! Haha.  Thanks for taking the time to write such in-depth posts.  And you look fantastic btw.  Any weight-loss tips?  Did you follow a program?  We’re about the same size, but I’d like to drop a few more.

  17. Glad you’re okay JoLynne.   I’ve twisted my ankle from falling down the stairs too. Feel better soon!
