The Perfect Casual Transition Top for Fall

Happy Monday, friends! I’m sharing an outfit I wore recently, with one of my favorite casual tops for this transition season. We’re having quite a warm fall here in Philly this year, with temperatures climbing into the 70s by mid-afternoon, so I find myself needing more of these lightweight transition tops than usual.

camo top // AGOLDE jeans (also at Nordstrom) // UGG clogs // layer necklace // link bracelet // sunnies // similar tote

This is the Chaser Camo Vintage Rib V Neck Top from Evereve, and it’s currently on sale for $39 and fully stocked. It’s lightweight and soft with a subtle ribbed texture and an abstract camo print in shades of black and grey, and it has such good details.

Check out the grommets on the sleeves and the exposed stitching on the seams.

It has those same grommets on the sides, and it’s 23 1/2″ long.

The shape of the v-neckline is super flattering, and I like the thick trim for another point of interest. If you don’t care for the camo print, this top also comes in a solid off-white, and it’s also on sale. Both tops run true to size, or you could size down for a closer fit. I’m wearing my usual small.

I paired this camo top with light wash jeans and gave it a front-tuck to create structure through the waist area.

These are the AGOLDE Toni slim straight jeans, and they have a 26 1/2″ inseam with a 13″ leg opening and a 9 3/4″ front rise. They’re on sale at Evereve, and there are more sizes at Nordstrom and Shopbop.

Even though some websites label these a skinny, they’re straighter and shorter than the legging ankle jeans I was wearing almost exclusively for the past few years. They create a more modern silhouette without going full-on into the high rise, relaxed straight-leg jeans that are trending at the moment.

I wore sneakers with this outfit over the weekend, but for this post, I wore the UGG Judi clogs. These clogs are so comfortable, with a sheepskin lining on the footbed, and I love the nailhead details and the contrasting wood platform and heel.

These have almost sold out at Nordstrom, but they’re fully stocked at Zappos. I had to size up to a 9 in these, but someone else wrote in and said she took her regular size, so I would recommend ordering two sizes, if you’re not sure. Of course, returns are free and super easy with Zappos.

I accessorized this casual outfit with a silver layer necklace and my Yurman silver link bracelet, and of course my favorite sunnies.

A classic leather tote seemed like a good way to complete the look. I’ve been reaching more for my crossbody bags these days, but I still love a good tote for carrying all the things. I’ve had my YSL tote for several years, and wow, the price has gone up since I got it. This Kate Spade tote is a similar size and shape, and I love the contrasting lining.

  1. What a great top! If I needed more light weight transition tops, I would definitely buy this one. We are also having a warm Fall thus far, with highs in the 80’s, so I haven’t even been able to wear my long sleeve light weight tops yet. Maybe I will get to wear them in November.

  2. Cute outfit! Thank you for sharing! Are there some similar tops at Nordstrom or other retalier? I like Evereve but I cannot get past the return fee or shipping cost:) and there is not local store nearby. Thank you so much!!

  3. We were having a warm, sunny Fall, but this week its going to change. Its going to be only in the 50’s. That will feel so cold, but I’m okay with it, as I’d like to wear some of my Fall clothes. I like the jeans you are styling, but glad you told me about different websites calling them either straight or skinny. I was confused. Wish I could order jeans online, but I spend too much time returning. I need to try jeans on.
