What I Wore Lately Vol. 114

Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately, which is where I round up my everyday outfits from the past couple weeks. I’ve been sick for the better part of the last week, so I don’t have as many outfits as usual, but I figured I’d go ahead and post what I have.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops and dresses, a 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

What I Wore Lately: Two Weeks of Everyday Outfits

I wore this first outfit to process returns and catch up on computer work after an early morning photo shoot here at the house, and then to run my daughter to a dental appointment later that day. Such is the glamorous life I lead!

This chocolate brown t-shirt had just arrived, and I was excited to style it for a warm weather fall look. I paired it with these Frame straight ankle jeans because I wanted more of a crop length for the warm weather we were having, and I like the medium blue wash with the dark brown top.

I wore casual slide sandals in a lighter shade of brown and a belt in an even lighter shade. I like the combination of various brown tones.

Then I accessorized with a medallion pendant necklace and a statement bracelet for some added interest and a little bling, and simple gold hoops completed the look. (I added my accessories in that order. I usually choose the “statement” piece or pieces first, and then one supporting piece that is a little simpler.)

FRAME tee (XS) // similar FRAME jeans (29) // Vince Camuto slides (8) // YSL belt (90) // Madewell earrings & necklace // Victoria Emerson boho cuff

This is an ultra-casual look I wore to get a mani/pedi early one morning, and then to a PT appointment later in the day. In between, I did some work from home.

I tend to forget about these pants because I usually wear joggers or jeans, but I really like them for something sort of in between. Unfortunately, they’re sold out, but this pair has a similar vibe, and the fabric is better for fall/winter.

We had plans to go see some live bands (our daughter was playing at one of them) the next day, and it was kind of damp and rainy, so I dressed from the bottom up. I started with leather sneakers and added my favorite washed black straight ankle jeans, and then I experimented with a few tops.

I almost wore this textured teal v-neck.

But after trying on a few other options, I ended up wearing this berry colored top with the asymmetrical neckline. It just seemed a little more interesting and appropriate for the occasion.

Sunday was another wet and rainy day, so I kept it casual for church. I love the luxe simplicity of this outfit.

I thought these Paul Green boots were weather-resistant, but now I don’t see anything to that effect on the website, but fortunately, they held up great even though I ended up tromping through wet grass and several puddles to get back to my car.

Jenni Kayne sweater // MOTHER Weekender // Paul Green boots // Jenny Bird earrings

I wore this next outfit… if you can call it that… at least twice, probably three times in the past two weeks. It’s ideal for those days when I have nothing else on my calendar other a workout and/or a PT appointment.

Vuori jacket c/o (S) // Vuori joggers c/o (M) // Zella tee (S) // Brooks Ghost (9)

My weekly ladies Bible study picked up again this month, after breaking for summer. I scheduled a photo shoot before, and I wore the last outfit we shot over to the church afterwards.

I wasn’t sure how I’d like the classic/conservative style sweater with the trendy wide leg jeans, but I think it works okay. I love the color combination, anyway.

Vince sweater (S) // MOTHER Roller (exact, size 28) (option) (option) (option) (budget option) // Blondo booties (8) // David Yurman earrings // similar necklace // Lagos ring

My exact jeans have sold out, so I linked a few other options with similar measurements, and some are on sale.

Here’s a picture of the outfit “in the wild” so to speak, and with the jacket I wore on top.

This was another day working from home. This Everlane boxy crew neck sweater is from last spring, and this gorgeous blue is no longer available, but they have some other good colors.

This style is a little more of an updated look, as compared to the raglan sleeve v-neck above. While I like each of my sweaters to be unique to my wardrobe, I’m tempted to get another color because it pairs so well with higher rise jeans, especially the wide leg styles. I also like it with this straight ankle pair.

And yet another day working from home… Alison stopped over that morning to shoot a few things for me, and then I did some try-ons, and I stayed in this outfit for the rest of the day.

I love this sweater from LOFT, it’s really soft and comfortable, with an easy fit, and the Johnny collar is a nice detail. Very Lorelei Gilmore, Season 3. (Can you tell what I’ve been watching since I’ve been sick???) It’s 30% off today, and also available in a nice oatmeal color.

LOFT sweater (S) // AG Mari (30) // P448 sneakers // Jenny Bird earrings & necklace

I didn’t get a chance to wear this next outfit, but I wanted to call your attention to the KUT from the Kloth coated jacket that’s back this year. Mine is one or two years old, and I still love it. It’s adds a nice edgy touch to my fall outfits.

My black one is low inventory, but they also have it out now in a really nice shade of burgundy, which I just grabbed to have, as well. That one is available in several other sizes, so basically, there’s one for everybody!

KUT Coated Kara (S) (burgundy option) // BR sweater shell (S) // AG Mari (30) // similar Tory Burch Chelsea boots (8) // LOFT earrings

I’ve lost track of how many of these jackets I’ve owned over the years. I love the bright greens and pinks in the spring, and earth tones in the fall. I had a lovely straw color a couple years back, and last year I grabbed one in chestnut brown.

The black coated version is my favorite though, and the only one that has stood the test of time. I’ve cycled my other colors out as new ones came in.

I know I don’t advocate buying multiples, but when it comes to a jacket like this that has proven time and time again to be essential to my transitional wardrobes, I have no problem getting it in a new color.

Okay, moving on… I spent the last few days in pajamas and/or loungewear, as I’ve had some type of flu virus. (No, it’s not the C-word.) I finally was able to rally yesterday and put on some clothes and makeup to go to a PT appointment. It felt really good to be out and about!

Vuori Villa Joggers c/o (M) // Vuori jacket c/o (S) // Vuori tank c/o (L) // J.Crew sneakers (8h) // Jenny Bird earrings

And that’s all I’ve got to show for my last two weeks. I’m excited to be back in the land of the living, but I know I need to be careful not to overdo it. I have a lot of fun stuff coming up this weekend, including a Phillip Phillips concert (!!!) so I hope to feel 100% by then.

  1. So glad you are feeling better! We just got over a nasty bug in my house as well, tis the season!
Love the sweaters you shared today! I am always cold even in FL so I am always grateful when you share a stylish sweater. Enjoy Phillip, I saw him a few years ago and absolutely loved his concert!

  2. Hi Jo-Lynne! How long is the shoulder strap on the Coach bucket bag? Is it comfortable to wear on the shoulder without sliding down? Thank you!

  3. Glad to see you on the mend! I’ll be over in your neck of woods today, the Outlets! I will check out the GAP Outlet for sure! What am I wearing today? My favorite Phillies tshirt and Phanatics ball cap! GO PHILS!!!!!!!

  4. I’m glad you are feeling better. I have the black coated jacket and the chestnut one. Im not getting rid of them. The berry sweaters look so good with your skin tone. The cute brown top is also cute. I like the length of all your sweaters. That’s the length I am going for to fit my body. I don’t think long loose sweaters look good with a front tuck even on skinny models. It really does nothing for the waist. In some cases it might make the waist look bigger because of the extra fabric on the sides. Always enjoy your try ons and commentary. The look on your face photos when you don’t like a piece crack me up.

  5. Glad you are feeling better 🙂 Those Mother Roller jeans are still my favorite jean ever. Have you tried the Frame Cropped Palazzo jean ? It has a very similiar fit to the Mother Roller but just a few inches shorter in length – which has really been easier to style than the length oo the Roller jean. I seem to gravite between those 2 styles most days.

  6. I received my Kut from the Kloth black Kara jacket and I’m in love! I ordered my usual size and it fits perfectly. I’m surprised how comfortable it is and I love the stretch of the fabric. So happy that you suggested it when it was restocked, thank you!

  7. I’m so glad that you are back among the living. I know that you are looking forward to seeing Phillip Phillips again. Please take it easy getting back into the swing of things so that you can fully recover.

  8. JoLynne-Does the Kut coated Kara jacket run small? Many of the reviews said they sized up. I notice you have a small and just wondering if it can be buttoned, although you wouldn’t usually wear it that way.

    1. I don’t think it runs small, but it’s a cropped, fitted style, so it might feel that way to those used to wearing more relaxed clothing. I have sized up to the M in the past and it bulged funny in the back. I do not button it, and I doubt I could if I wanted to.

  9. I just recently watched all the seasons of Gilmore Girls and was so sad when it was over!! Such a good series!! 💜

  10. YES…..don’t overdue. I had covid, again for 2 weeks and kept trying to push it and then a month later got a flu virus. I feel like I can’t catch a break. I just want to dress in normal clothes and get out and about doing more. So, I hear you. Have fun this weekend. I should have grabbed that black coated jacket, but now out of smalls. I didn’t really like black on me that much, but now that my hair is more grey…….letting it go, I like black and light grey on me again. No smalls left in the burgundy color either. Our weather is going to warm up and be in the mid to high 70’s coming up, so nice Fall weather, for NW Oregon.
