What I Wore Lately Vol. 48

Happy Friday, friends! Yesterday I shared what I packed for Florida, and today I’ve got my outfits from the past couple of weeks, including everything I wore on vacation. Now that spring has officially arrived here in Philly, I’m finally getting to wear the clothes I bought and styled for 23 Days of Spring Fashion!

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and 135 pounds, with an hourglass shape. Unless I say otherwise, I’m wearing a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, a 6 in dresses/jumpsuits, and size 8 shoe.

What I Wore Lately

This first outfit is what I wore to a Saturday morning Bible study with ladies from our church. It’s so nice to meet in person again! It was a mild spring day, and I was able to wear a lightweight sweater and jeans without needing a jacket.

Lou & Grey sweater (extra 50% off with OHLALA) // 7FAM boyfriend jeans // Everlane clogs // Loeffler Randall baguette bag // earrings // necklace // bracelet

Sunday was a rainy day, and we had family stopping through, so I threw on this hoodie and jeans with my Birks to hang out with them for the afternoon.

Caslon hoodie // Daily Ritual girlfriend jeans (bleach wash) // Birks // similar earrings

I didn’t go anywhere on Monday except to work out, so I didn’t grab a picture of that. On Tuesday, I had to run some errands, including a hair appointment.

Z Supply leopard tee // Vince Camuto denim jacket // Level 99 utility pants (size down) // similar espadrilles // similar earrings

And that brings us to Wednesday… the day we flew to Florida! I tried to be smart about my travel outfit with things I could re-wear when we got down there, but I never did need the joggers again. I don’t even think I wore the grey tee again, surprisingly enough! The denim jacket did come in handy, though, as did my running shoes.

We didn’t do much the night we got down there. By the time we got our rental car and stopped at the grocery store, it was time to make dinner. Afterwards, we spent some time in the hot tub, and then we turned in early. At least, I did! The girls were excited to have their cousin join us, and I’m sure they stayed up playing games and catching up.

I went for a walk on Thursday morning, but it was too hot to run because I waited too late. It was fun to see the neighborhood, though. Afterwards, I put on a swimsuit and coverup and sat by the pool for most of the day.

La Blanca lace tunic // Gucci sunnies (budget option) // Prima Donna tankini top & bottoms

I put this outfit on after I showered later in the day… I didn’t include this tee and shorts in my What I Packed post because I forgot I wore it! I think I only had it on for an hour or so, because then I changed to go out for dinner.

Treasure & Bond tee // Agolde Parker denim shorts

The mirrors in this house are definitely a bit distorted — I swear, I haven’t lost any weight recently.

I wore a sweater tank with white jeans and heeled sandals for dinner Thursday night.

A cold front came through that night, and the next day was brisk and mild. Of course, it still felt great to us! We decided to go over to Sanibel Island for the day, and I wasn’t sure what all we would do, or if we would get cold on the beach, so I threw a sweatshirt on over my t-shirt, and I wore jeans instead of shorts.

BOBI hoodie // Mother jeans // Dolce Vita sandals // Hobo crossbody (old) // Kendra Scott hoops

Once we got there, it was plenty warm to go without a sweatshirt, so I left it in the car when we walked down to the beach. I didn’t even need it dining outside at Doc Ford’s for a late lunch. It was a perfectly gorgeous day.

And here’s one of Paul and me together… I teased him mercilessly for wearing socks and shoes to the beach, but he got the last laugh. There were a lot of shells, so it hurt to walk barefoot, and my sandals weren’t really beach-friendly. I did okay, but he was much more comfortable in his sneakers. I can get details on his outfit and add them later.

We spent Saturday at the house. I wore a swimsuit for most of the day. I threw the jean shorts on when I wasn’t sitting in the sun.

I threw these old Gap jean shorts in my suitcase at the last minute b/c I wasn’t sure how comfortable the Agolde Parker shorts would be. I sometimes put on weight on vacation, and I wanted a pair that I knew would be comfy no matter what.

That night, we had reservations at Rum Runners for dinner. It is one place that was recommended time and time again, and we loved it.

I wore a floral top and the same white jeans to church and brunch afterwards on Easter Sunday.

Afterwards, I threw on a comfy hoodie and shorts for the afternoon and evening.

Both of these pieces came from Evereve, and the shorts have sold out, but this hoodie is soooo soft and cozy. I also really like the shorter length.

Z Supply shorts // BOBI hoodie

We went to Fort Meyers Beach for the day on Monday. I wore a tank top and shorts over my suit so I wouldn’t need to change if we wanted to go to a restaurant after the beach.

black tank // similar jean shorts // Prima Donna tankini top & bottoms // Tory Burch sandals // woven straw tote // Paul’s shirt // Paul’s shorts

We spent Tuesday, our last full day on vacation, hanging out at our rental home in Cape Coral and soaking up every last minute of our beautiful view.

This is the other swimsuit that I brought, which I also wore on our first night. These Prima Donna swimsuits are spendy, but I love how they shape and support “the girls” — they have full built-in bras, with the back strap and everything.

Prima Donna tankini top // matching swim bottoms // similar jean shorts // Dolce Vita sandals

And I wore the same outfit to travel home that I wore down the week before.

Splendid t-shirt (size M) // Vuori joggers (size M) // denim jacket // Saucony sneakers // Kendra Scott hoops

Then it was back to life, back to reality… I put on workout clothes when I got up yesterday, but I never got around to workout out. It’s been a whirlwind since I got home, and I’ve hardly had time to breathe. Thus, the tardiness of this post.

And I suppose that’s a wrap! Big shout-out to R and Paul for being so willing to take pictures of my outfits while we were away… and I’m sure C would have if I’d asked, but R seemed to enjoy it.

They were all just taken with my iPhone, although I doctored them up a bit in Lightroom. Not bad for a camera phone, wouldn’t you say? Although our gorgeous scenery certainly helped.

  1. It really sounds like you all had a great trip! I’m glad you enjoyed it and got some warmth and everything.

  2. So glad you enjoyed your stay in Cape Coral and your lunch at Doc Ford’s! Can you tell me if that lovely floral top from Ann Taylor’s is true to size?

  3. Sounds like you had a great vacation. I loved seeing all the outfits you wore. Fun post. That was nice of them both to take the pictures and I think the IPhone quality is good.

  4. Welcome home! Thank you so much for sharing all your outfits, makes me want to go south for vacation, and we hope to in August with the extended family. I love the “jeans shorts with a bathing suit top” look and I probably would’ve added a beachy-type sundress to the mix. Your rental home was awesome!! At least you arrived home to some lovely weather here in the Philly area.

      1. Wow!!! What a gorgeous house. The price seems so good for that big a house. You can spend that much at a place in Bend, Oregon that’s only a room.

  5. I always enjoy these posts. Thanks for sharing,Jo-Lynne. I love the snap tank, but alas, it’s sold out. Welcome home!

  6. Love the Dolce Vita Paily braided sandals. In some pictures it looks like the cafe color and other it looks like ivory. Trying to decide what color to get? Thoughts on determining best color.
    Thank you

  7. So fun seeing what you wore while away… did you ever get to wear your tye-dye blue and white dress from old navy? Glad you all had a great trip! Makes me miss Florida:)

  8. I enjoyed seeing what you wore on vacation. What you wore n Easter was so pretty, and yes, the scenery is beautiful. Sounds like Paul was the smart one when y’all went to the beach to walk around. I hope that this weekend will be relaxing for you.

  9. Thanks for sharing your vacation pics. It was fun to see them all. I know it must have been anxiety causing to share vs not share vac pics as someone can get upset and beak off at you. You chose a fantastic rental hoUse. I need that magical mirror from the rental…..anything that helps to slim me down! My mirror seems to do the exact opposite: add 10 lbs. i always forget to pack comFy lounge clothes. I’ve added it to my packing list for next time we traVel. Hope your weekend is relaxing.

  10. Great post, Jo-Lynne! My two favourite outfits were what you wore to church on Easter Sunday and what you wore for dinner at Rum Runners. It always amazes me how great a jean jacket looks with white jeans. I thoroughly enjoyed all of your posts on your vacation.

  11. I, too, just returned from a Ft. Myers-Sanibel vacation! It was so fun to put on summer clothes after our typical, grey, NE Ohio winter. I am also a chronic overpacker (I think it goes along with my chronic overthinking!!), so I had clothing with me that never saw the sun. It was good to have a decent selection of swim tops and both my basic black and navy bottoms. The clothes that saw the most wear were my white cropped jeans, a flippy skirt in a print that went well with solid tees, workout clothes, denim shorts, and lots of sleeveless. I’ll remember this next time I head south for vacation. We tried to get in to Doc Ford’s but there was a 75 minute wait, yikes!! We wound up at Matzaluna instead and enjoyed seafood and pasta. We also hit Ft. Myers beach and Sanibel beach at the lighthouse. Ouch, yes, lots of seashells! And we shopped at the Miramar Outlet Mall and found great stuff at Banana Republic and Kate Spade. I will always consider SW Florida my favorite “in the states” vacation spot. So glad you were able to experience the sun and fun.

    1. That sounds awesome! And yes… the overthinking. Well, you all know I am guilty of THAT too! 🙂 🙂

I was shocked when we got right into Doc Ford’s. It was like 2:30-3:00 so only a 10 min wait for the deck. (Could have sat down right away inside, but who wants to eat inside when it’s 70 and sunny??)

  12. So glad you and your family had a great trip! Love your pictures!
What size are you wearing in the denim jacket?
    Thank you!

  13. So glad you & your family enjoyed SW FL! I’m happy you made it to Rum Runners & Doc Ford’s, two of my all-time favorites. You had the best weather while you were down here! (I live in Cape Coral and LOVED that “cold front!”) 🙂

  14. Glad to see you enjoyed your vacation – the sun and warmth is definitely the best medicine! 🙂 I am wondering if you can tell me a little more about the Daily Ritual girlfriend jeans – I have been thinking about ordering these for awhile, and when I saw your photo above, I thought they looked so good on you that I should just go ahead and get them. But when I pulled them up on Amazon, I hesitated because some of the photos in certain washes look super low rise, and Amazon doesn’t include measurements for the rise. I was hoping they had about a 9 inch rise, but would still consider ordering them if they were slightly less. Any chance you could provide any details on the measurements for the rise of your pair?

  15. Looks like a great vacation Jo-Lynne. Question on the Vuori camo leggings. What are the colors in the print? Is it more blue or black?
