What I Wore Lately Vol. 94

It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately! This is where I round up my everyday looks from the past few weeks. Since these are real life outfits, some pieces are old, so they aren’t always in stock, but I’ll do my best to link similar styles.

Before we get started, I want to point out that Bloomingdale’s is still doing their $25 off every $100 promo. Plus, Loyallists receive a $25 Reward for every $100 spent on almost everything else. A lot of my wardrobe is from Bloomies or can be found there, so I’ll link to them whenever I can.

And LOFT is doing 30% off new arrivals and 50% off almost everything else, so I’ll call out those items when I link them, as well.

What I Wore: Two Weeks of Everyday Outfits

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops, a 28 or 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

This is a casual outfit I wore working from my office and running a few mundane errands after a photo shoot here at home. These are my softest, most comfortable jeans, and they’ve been on major repeat lately.

They also just got restocked in my exact wash on the Mother website, but unfortunately, they aren’t on sale at the moment. I recently did a Mother Denim review of a bunch of her popular styles, if you’re interested in that.

I threw this lightweight puffer on top when I went out to run some errands. I love how the lilac color complements this outfit. This is a discontinued color, but I really like that Rose Quartz.

The next day, I had to take the dog to the groomer and then I went to the mall to kill time until she was ready to be picked up. My sweater sold out, but this one is also by Vince, and it’s gorgeous… and also on sale!

I wore my 6-year-old Burberry jacket and a cozy camel cashmere scarf on top. I don’t know why Burberry discontinued this style, it’s so good! And it was more affordable than most of their line.

The Barbour Millfire Diamond Quilted Jacket is very similar, though, and the black is on sale at Bloomingdale’s, plus Loyallists can earn Power Points on top of the sale price. The details are almost exact, right down to the angled hip snap-flap pockets and the way it’s fitted through the back. It also has a plaid lining.

This is one of my go-to simple outfits; I threw it on to host friends for a casual dinner on a Friday night. Unfortunately, this sweater is a few year old and no longer available.

I decided I was tired of pullover sweaters so I pulled out this thermal and my hooded leather jacket to run to Trader Joe’s on a Saturday with my daughter. We stopped into a Starbucks for breakfast on the way and ran a few other errands on the way home. Such a glamorous life I lead… haha!

These jeans are back in stock in a couple of sizes, so grab them fast if you’ve had your eye on them. They’re TTS, or size down if in between.

I had been holding onto these jeans in two sizes, trying to decide which to keep before I cut them. I finally decided to keep the 29, so I hacked off a couple inches and wore them to church the next morning.

This striped fair isle sweater is quite a busy print for me, but I think I like it for a change. I definitely like how it pairs with the faded black wash jeans.

That night we had tickets to a Sixers game. It was such fun to be out and about after spending so much time in doctor’s offices and here at home over the past few weeks. Fortunately Becca was able to join us, since the tickets were a joint birthday gift for her and David.

It was cold and rainy, and I first put on this hooded leather jacket with my Sixers t-shirt, but I quickly realized that wasn’t going to cut it, so I ended up wearing my new Bernardo jacket. It was perfect because it’s lightweight and not too bulky, so I didn’t mind wearing it some while at the game, although I did eventually take it off and sit on it.

I had a photo shoot the next day, and I wore this outfit afterwards to go to a doctor appointment.

Okay, this was a lazy day working from home, so I didn’t bother with makeup or hair, but I did throw on real clothes. It always makes me feel more productive.

This was the day that Caroline drove home from Boston and Becca had a snow day. It was really messy and gross here in Philly, so I threw on this cozy cashmere sweater with jeans and my Sorel boots to go to a nail appointment.

I wasn’t feeling like going back home afterwards, so I went to a Starbucks and did some work there for a change of scenery and to keep me occupied while I waited for Caroline to get home.

I took this picture the next morning on my way to the gym. I almost forgot I had these Vuori Daily Leggings; because they’re black, they looked like some of my others in the drawer, so I was excited to break them out and wear them for the first time. They’re super stretchy and soft and comfortable. Highly recommend!

I have nothing on my calendar last Friday, and I can’t remember why I got myself dressed so nicely, but it is entirely possible I just worked from home all day. I must have had to take pictures, or something. Actually, I think that’s when we did the cocktail dress pictures

I spent a large part of last Saturday wrapping presents, while the rest of the family was occupied out of the house. I threw on this cozy Vuori Sedona Set and slippers, and since I never ended up going anywhere, I just kept it on all day. Poor Savannah… she really wanted to go for a walk, but it was rainy and cold.

And this was last Sunday’s church outfit. The sweater dress is from last year, I think… or maybe two years ago. I wanted to wear my new burgundy one, but I had my nails painted a bright sparkly red for Christmas, and I can’t stand it when my nails clash with my clothes.

The same was true for my lunch with Paul on Monday… I wanted to wear my CeCe tie sleeve blouse in the Claret Red because it’s more flattering on me, but I couldn’t deal with the clashing nails, so I opted for the teal green ruffle sleeve blouse. I know, I really am certifiable!

I do really like this color, though. I did a front tuck to keep the proportions in check.

And I topped it off with my Andrew Marc boucle wool coat. We took these pictures at Paul’s office before heading over to lunch.

That brings us to yesterday, and I had a doctor’s appointment with Becca. She’s anemic in addition to the mono, which has complicated matters, but her labs came back much improved. She’s been feeling and acting a lot more like herself, so she’ll be able to perform in the Christmas concert tonight and enjoy all the holiday festivities. We are so thankful!

After the appointment, we stopped into Target to do some Christmas shopping (and grab lunch at Starbucks, of course!) I threw on this casual, comfy outfit for that outing. I got this cashmere hoodie from Naadam on sale for $100 last year, along with the matching cashmere joggers. They were a final sale, so I’m kind of surprised they still carry the set, but they do! They often run sales after the holidays, so it might go on sale again soon.

Then last night, the girls and I had tickets to see Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella at the Walnut Street Theatre in Philly. Becca opted not to go, to save her energy for her concert tonight. (FUN FACT: The Walnut Street Theatre is the oldest operating theatre in the United States.)

I ran into the same conundrum with the red nail polish… half of the things I wanted to wear clashed in a dreadful way. I also knew I’d be doing a fair bit of walking in the cold, since we had dinner reservations a couple blocks away, and I wanted to be comfortable.

So I ended up wearing a cozy yet elevated cashmere sweater and my velvet flares with booties. I wanted to wear the BP. booties, but I was afraid I’d regret those heels, so I went with this pair.

I topped it off with my faux fur jacket, which turned out to be plenty warm, thank goodness!

And that’s a wrap! I can’t believe my next What I Wore Lately will include all the Christmas and New Year’s Eve outfits!

  1. Love seeing what you wore, Jo-Lynne! I am about to cave and buy the Naadam peackock blue sweater – it looks so good on you! What is the wash of your Mother Dazzlers?

  2. You always look cute! I’ve scoured the earth for the Mother Dazzler fray hem jeans in my size – they are not to be found. I am going to try another Mother Dazzler cut/style and see how they are. Fingers crossed! I love the Burberry jacket (anything Burberry is amazing IMO) and the Barbour jacket is splendid too! Ahhh, the Queen would have been impressed. Cheers!

  3. I like all your outfit choices. I did laugh about the nail polish. My husband says I always overthink my clothing. The struggle is real!

  4. Looks like you had just the right things to wear for each event; even staying home. Lol.
We really didn’t have any dressy events or parties to go too, so I didn’t buy any new dressy clothes this year. Even our Christmas’ have been casual, as usually just my adult kids and grands so we end up staying in Pjs most the day. Lol. Well, except my husband. He keeps his sweats on incase he has to go on a fire or ambukance call. He always thinks that way. This year I think I’ll talk everyone into getting dressed for pictures. Last year we all had matching Pjs from Hanna Anderson. Highly recommend their PJs for all ages. Good quality.

  5. You look fantastic in everything. You made me laugh on the nail polish clash. So me. You are not alone! Hugs to all our over-thinkers out there. I wear neutral polish most of the time. At the holidays I’ve opted for a reddish wine color that seems to blend with either but I’m usually lean towards wine/burgundy clothing at Christmas. Glad Becca is feeling better. I had mono in HS (way back in the day) it was not fun, so I sympathize with her. Great that Caroline is back home & David’s finals complete. Yay! Blessed Christmas & Happy New Year.

  6. So glad I’m not the only one who is OCD about nail polish clashing with outfits! Glad Becca is better, hope the time off school for the holidays gives her a chance to regain some energy. Btw I love the way you have your hair curled in the concert pics.

  7. I am the same way with my nail polish! Probably why I gravitate to a French tip most often lol. Last year, I was talked into Christmas nails. They were cute…until it was 3 weeks after Christmas and I hadn’t been able to get back to the salon. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I think the Talbots dress is from last year. Mainly because my husband bought it for me as well! SO glad your Becca is feeling better, and praying she felt well enough to perform tonight! And that she continues to feel better!

  8. I am so glad that you and many commenters brought up the nail polish issue – one of the very few things I am OCD about too👏. I am going crazy because my toes are the right shiny red but my nails are too brownish red! I am think I should have kept the amethyst color as purple tends to go with more things since we do both Hannukah and Christmas- definitely live and learn!

  9. I enjoy seeing what you wore lately. I love all the flare jeans especially the velvet ones. Your legs look a mile long in all the flares. My favorite is the last outfit with the fur jacket and velvet flares. I love your hair with a curl too. I know what you mean about sometimes it works. Same for me. You’re very photogenic. I hope your daughter gets better. I would try vitamin D and C too. They help me stay healthy.
    Merry Christmas.
