Happy Wednesday! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately, where I round up the everyday outfits I’ve been wearing over the past couple of weeks. These pictures conveniently start at the beginning of May, right after I got back from two weeks in Florida. Our weather has been up and down (more down than up, sadly), so there’s a mix of warm- and cool-weather looks in this one.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29–30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8.5 shoe. I often fall between sizes, so fit notes matter.
It took me a few days after I got back from Florida to get back in the swing of things at home, but by the weekend, I was ready to get out and catch up with friends. I met a couple of girlfriends for dinner that Friday night, so I got dressed to go out.
It was chilly but sunny, and I thought this cropped button-up would be fun to wear. It has red stripes, so I tried it first with the red jeans, but it felt a bit bright and matchy-matchy to me, so next I tried the ecru. But neither of these felt quite like me.

So then I tried these trouser jeans and switched from the Mary Jane flats to slingback pumps. I really like this lower-contrast look, and the trouser jeans and low heels make it feel a bit more polished and “going out.”

I added a couple of delicate silver necklaces and a smaller pair of chunky silver hoops to add some shine and elevate the look a bit. To finish it off, I threw a trench coat on top and carried an ivory bag to keep things light.

I wore this casual look the next day to run errands. I love this striped sweater for transition season. It has a summery vibe, but it’s just warm enough. The bell sleeves plus the rolled hem and cuffs are such nice details, as well.

For church the next day, I pulled out this green cable short-sleeved sweater and paired it with dark wash wide-leg jeans and the same perforated suede kitten heel slingback pumps. My exact jeans are sold out, so I linked the same style in a similar wash.

This time I topped it off with a similar trench, but this one is longer, and I love that the plaid lining coordinates with the green sweater. I ended up carrying a white bag, but it’s old and no longer available.

I met another friend for lunch the next day, and I pulled together this black-and-white outfit with the red bag for a pop of color.
Last week, I shared a post all about whether you can wear black shoes in spring and summer if you’re interested.

Back at home, I changed into linen shorts and a black tank after doing some try-ons that afternoon.

I threw on my favorite comfy pants and a linen tank to go for a walk the next morning.
Neither of these pieces gets mentioned enough. I have the linen tank in three colors, and these pants are my go-to whenever I want to be comfortable around the house or go for a walk. They’re buttery soft but still look polished enough to wear out and about, too.

It warmed up later, so I switched into shorts and a tank top.

I did a bunch of try-ons the next day and ended up wearing these new jean shorts and green tee with these fun rhinestone-embellished jelly flip flops.
I was wearing my old Warby Esme eyeglasses because I wanted to share them on Instagram. I often get asked about trending eyeglasses styles, and I’ve had several pairs from Warby Parker over the years. They’re really great to work with and always have lots of on-trend frames. I’m excited about the new pair they’re sending me.

I didn’t bother with makeup or jewelry the next day, but I pulled on jean shorts, a tee, and flip-flops, so at least I felt dressed.

Another casual day with minimal makeup, but I threw on jeans and a striped top and tried out these new Beek sandals that had just come in.
I’ve had their flip-flops for years, and they’re amazing because they’re all leather and have a molded footbed. I love the barely-there strappy design on these, with the crisscross straps and gold stud accents adding a subtle touch of shine.

Splendid Kylie V-Neck Tee (M) // Madewell Jules (29) // beek Palila in Tan c/o (8)
I love this look with a red sweater thrown over the shoulders—it really levels it up a notch. Sadly, this sweater quickly sold out and is now on backorder, but it’s really good.
J.Crew brought out their classic rollneck in a lightweight summer linen blend, and this shade of red is gorgeous. It has just a hint of pink that feels modern while still keeping that classic preppy vibe.

I went to the mall on Saturday, and I threw on this fun new open-stitch sweater that just came in from Social Threads. It’s that same pinky-red shade as the J.Crew summer rollneck, and I love the little wood button detail at the neck.
And before you ask, I wore a red bra underneath, but no cami. It is a bit see-through, but I feel like the red bra makes it much less noticeable than my usual beige one, which I had on initially.
I also love this pairing with the red sweater and light-wash denim. It has such a fresh, summery vibe. It was overcast and a bit chilly, so I went with light perforated Mary Jane flats and a coordinating bucket tote. And the water bottle I’m carrying is so pretty, I decided it deserved to be in the photo too!

I wore my Tommy Bahama floral linen shift dress for Mother’s Day. It was another overcast day, and sandals didn’t feel quite right, so I wore neutral slingback pumps in this pretty textured finish.
The bucket bag is probably a bit casual for this look, but I was running late, it was still packed from the day before, and the color worked—so I just went with it.

And then I changed into shorts and a t-shirt for the afternoon. We just came back and cooked lunch here.

I had a photo shoot on Monday, and this was the last look we shot, so I wore it to a nearby coffee shop to do some work before heading home. I love these tie-waist jeans. They’re super soft and comfortable, and the tie detail adds a fun element of interest while keeping them feeling modern.

EVEREVE Nora tee (M) // Madewell Airy Wide Leg Jeans c/o (29) // Dolce Vita wedge sandals c/o (8)
After I got home, I changed into my comfy Vuori pants and this fun graphic tee for the rest of the day.

Come and Go Mushie Tee (L) // Vuori pants (M) // TKEES flip flops (8)
I wore some of my favorite Vuori pieces to my gym workout yesterday, and then I ended up going straight to the hair salon and the garden center afterward.

When I got home, I threw on this pretty coral-pink quarter-zip short-sleeve sweatshirt and my favorite Madewell Jules jeans for the afternoon and to host our small group that night.
These new Gola sneakers had just come in, although I ended up wearing the Dolce Vita Delaney sneakers with the coral laces because I liked how they coordinated with this top (which is more coral in person, not the bright pink it looks like here). But anyway, I really love the combination of white and beige for a neutral sneaker that isn’t stark white, and the woven fabric keeps them feeling nice and summery.

And that’s a wrap! I hope you found some spring outfit inspiration in here—or maybe even a few fun new color combinations to try.

I love your What I Wore Lately posts. This one is reminding me to go through my huge pile of shorts that I have collected over the years and pare it down to the ones I will actually wear! I love my blue and white denim ones the best, but also wear many chino ones when it’s really hot. Thanks again for the Jane Win recommendation. I bought my granddaughter an engraved coin necklace for her 18th birthday that will arrive today. It’s a smaller coin since he likes more delicate pieces. Hope she loves it, I certainly love the one I purchased for my birthday in January. Oh, I also love the J. Crew linen-blend roll neck. Have an original cotton one from a decade ago that I packed away since it is very heavy.
So glad the Jane Win pendants have been a win (haha!) for you and for gifting. I also have too many shorts right now. I want to go through and pare down.
Is there a way to enlarge your photos in these post. As I scroll through and you explain each outfit I find myself wanting to enlarge the photos to zoom in on those that but it doesn’t work. I’m using my Apple IPhone. I think of it all the time and keep forgetting to ask.
We’ve had a dry, warm Spring, but today it finally is raining and it’s so needed that I’m enjoying it. It’s been so dusty and it settled all that and made everything look clean again. Great outfits for your days. I love seeing what you really wear.
Kathy, if you’re on your iPhone all you need to do is the two finger un-pinch. I do it daily on her posts to see the detail.
Kathy, just as Shelly said, just place your two fingers on the photo and open them. I need to do that all the time!!!!
Yeah, I was coming on to say the same as the other ladies. I just pinch and zoom.
Fyi whenever I do the two finger pinch zoom the whole site reloads and goes back to the top. Not sure if it’s an issue on my end, but I don’t have that problem on any other website. I’m also using an iPhone with the current iOS and reading in safari browser. A minor inconvenience, but just wanted to share since Kathy brought it up.
Hey Megan, thanks for the feedback. I just went on to my site on Safari, and it seems to work for me. I hate to hear about these issues, but it’s hard for my team to troubleshoot when we can’t recreate the issue. I will still reach out to my developer and see if he has any insights.
Mine does something similar and it helps if I zoom slowly. If I do it too quick it does the reload.
I can’t believe you own a red bra!
Haha! I liked the style and the red was on sale, so I figured, why not? Turns out, I really enjoy having a more fun option, and in this case, it worked out better than any of my neutral options.
Details on the bucket handbag that you’re holding with the green T-shirt and Madewell drawstring jeans outfit?
I appreciate you sharing your real life outfits with us! It definitely gives me ideas.
Cool colors are more flattering on me. As much as I love the camel color, it washes me out. Is the Sam Edelman trench you’re wearing above a cool color? If so, I’m going to snag it.
I appreciate all the time and effort in your posts. They’re extremely helpful!
Yes I’m the same. I feel like this is a cooler tone.
I love your red YSL bag! Can you please share the link?
