How is it February already? I cannot compute.
I’m getting ready to leave Florida and head back to Pennsylvania. I dread the cold temperatures, but I can’t wait to hug my kids.
I took these pictures before Christmas, and I just found them hiding in my drafts folder. Oooops!
This outfit would actually be great for a Valentine’s Day date night. I like combining red with grey. Black would work, of course, but grey is more modern and unexpected.
This crossover top is from White House Black Market last year, but I rounded up a few red tops below for your shopping inspiration! Or of course you can shop your closet.
These grey skinnies are coated cotton, which I love. They’re dressier than regular denim, but they are much more comfortable and practical than leather or faux leather pants, which are super popular right now.
I wore my black suede pumps (these are similar) and accessorized with gold.
The necklace is this Alexia Pave Chevron Necklace. I love how it fills the neckline but it’s not too heavy.
The gold clutch and gold bangles complete the look. I’ll wear a big puffer coat over this if it’s cold, or if it’s a mild night, I might wear my black leather jacket.
Outfit Details:
cute red tops here, here, and here (I had a HARD time finding anything, boo.)

Wow! That is a simple, yet stunning outfit, perfect for a day out or date night! I just love the look of the skinny jeans……on you! The shoes really change the whole look! I did find a pair of black slim leg ponte pants from Kohls but wished they came in dark gray, they fit so nice. However, I need to make sure my top comes below my tushie! Not a pretty sight if it doesn’t. It’s hard to find something in gray, and you are so right about red tops. We have a church dinner on the 13th, so I’m resurrecting an old red Coldwater Creek cable sweater with a large off the shoulder look collar. I’d be glad to hear of anyone finding a nice red top to wear out to dinner! Have a safe trip home, at least the temps won’t be too bad……..
That sounds like fun!
I love the red top from Kohl’s so feminine! Red is one of my favorite colors you look lovely
Thanks, Rhonda!
I’ve decided that gray is my new favorite neutral. As a redhead, I’ve always worn a lot of black because it works with my hair and skin tone, but gray goes so well with so many colors and I feel that it’s a less severe neutral than black. I love the coated jeans! I’m starting a list of things to buy for next fall winter to add to my closet and a pair of gray skinny coated jeans is going on the list. Last fall I got rid of almost everything I owned and have started again after finding a couple of great blogs, like yours. Thanks so much for sharing!
That will be fun!!! I’m going to start more spring fashion coverage soon!
What a cute top! I love the button detail on the sleeve. You look so tall and lean in this outfit!!
Glad to see January gone, it’s always such a long, boring month after the excitement of the holidays. I’m looking forward to spring and a change of wardrobe!
Me too! (and thank you!)
Hi, this is actually the third time I try to leave a comment. It hasn’t worked out before-maybe because I’writing from Germany? I really like your outfit- wish I had a date night more often1
I’m glad your comment made it through. I’m not sure why it would be a problem. I hope you don’t have any more trouble.
This had date night written all over it for sure!
Now, I just need a date night. HAHA!
I really like your red top! I need to have more red in my closet since so many of the ladies commented on how good I look in red. I hope you made it home without issues.
God bless!
SO grateful to be home safe and sound! 🙂
You look amazing! Seriously.
Awww, thank you! xo
