In case you missed it, I’ve made a spontaneous decision to post 28 Days of Winter Fashion this February. I need the inspiration, and I have a feeling y’all might like it. I did this a few years back in the summertime. It was challenging, but fun. More recently, I’ve been inspired by Cyndi’s 31 Days of Winter fashion series so I decided to jump on the bandwagon.
When I did this before, I only posted weekly, but I am going to try to post daily this time.
I’m getting my first post up late in the day, but it still counts, right? We’ve been out of the house since 9AM, and we just got home.
This outfit is a new one for me! I got a Stitch Fix earlier in the week, and this blouse came in my box.
I wasn’t sure if I’d like the longer tunic style, but as it turns out, it is super flattering. I wish I had some photos of other angles to show you, but we were in a rush to get to church this morning and we didn’t take the time to get more shots.
I wore it with my black ponte knit pants and black riding boots. It would also work with leggings.
The neckline of the top needed something delicate so I pulled out this gold necklace that I haven’t worn in a while. I like how it fills the narrow V-neck without overpowering it. It actually came in a Stitch Fix box last summer. The bracelet is from the NEW Stella & Dot Spring 2014 collection.
Today was a bit of a gimme since I’d be getting dressed for church anyway, but I’m looking forward to getting dressed and feeling good about myself every day this month. I need the pick me up. Let me know if you decide to play along!
I like the blouse and boots and I also like your hair longer! Have a great evening!
Aw, thanks! I’m actually getting it cut tomorrow. Trying a new hairdresser. YIPES!
Yes, absolutely! I’m busy homeschooling 5 kids each day ( only 2 of which are mine- I get paid to do the others). But it’s easy to skip fixing myself up in the rush of meeting others’ needs all day. But I feel so much better when I do. Let’s do this!
Love that shirt!
Absolutely. And thank you!
LOVE the blouse! Very pretty with your coloring! (and it matches your nail polish)
I am so happy you are doing the 28 days of winter fashion. I always get a lot of inspiration from posts like this.
LOVE that tunic!! It is very flattering and the color is perfect for you!
I recently found your blog and Cindy’s blog also and you both have inspired me to dress better in my every day. I have a full time business job and have to dress for it so your outfits have been inspiring. I finally bit the bullet and signed up for the Stick Fix service and my first box should arrive this week. I love this tunic on you.
Thanks! You’ll have to let us know how you like your first Stitch Fix.
Jo-Lynne, actually got my Stitch Fix box today. Loved 3 out of 5 things but really can’t keep all of them just have to figure out which ones to keep and just updated my page and connected my pinterest board to the site. So hopefully the next shipment will be spot on.
I’m so glad you liked 3 things! That’s fun.
Super cute – you look great in blue!
Of course it counts if you post it later in the day. Getting out for the day can be as important as getting dressed sometimes! The new shirt looks great. I have no intention of posting outfits anywhere, but I’m only 2 weeks into a new job so that’s been keeping me accountable for looking nice 🙂 Hubby tried to tell me I looked fine to go to breakfast in stained navy yoga pants, the tshirt I wore the day before, and a cardigan. Um, I’ve NEVER worn those pants out of the house and I work for a clothing store, nope, don’t think I can get away without changing, sorry, LOL.
LOL. Men!
Great outfit, I love the blue color on you! I’d love to play along, but I always forget to take photos of my outfits! I could really use the challenge, though, since my winter fashion has been kind of boring!
Yeah, it’s a bit of a pain, especially to get them during daylight hours. but it’s become a habit by now. 🙂
Beautiful color on you! Brightens up the gloomy days 🙂
Very pretty color, nice length. I’m looking forward to seeing each of your winter outfits. Thanks for doing this! I love your blog, your honesty, your transparency.
That’s a gorgeous outfit on you. Your blue nails are so perfect too.
Thanks! Total coincidence. I was about to take off the nail polished b/c it was chipped and then decided it needed to stay for one more day. 🙂
Love the outfit and the nail polish. It’s perfect! I am going to check out Stitch Fix. You always end up with such nice pieces. It peeks my curiosity!
Thanks, Denise. They’re hit or miss, but they usually send at least one thing I really like. And I have definitely discovered some pieces I never would have otherwise.
THank you for being so transparent in your posts. I too am struggling…..and while I hate that you are, nice to know I am not the only one. Can you tell me the brand of your shirt….love it. Hoping I can request it by name with Stitch fix or find somewhere else. Beautiful!
Hey Kim. I’m sorry to hear you’re struggling as well. It’s by Hawthorne – I think that is a Stitch Fix brand.
I really enjoyed Cindys 31 days, so I’m glad you are doing a series too. LOVE this outfit on you. One of my favs & agree with earlier posts, your hair looks great too.
Yikes! I’m cutting it tomorrow. Maybe I should reconsider…. actually, it REALLY needs a trim, but I do think I’ll keep it longer. I always DID wear my hair longer, but when it started thinning I had to go short. I’m so happy to have my hair back!
I love the necklace! Delicate…..I’ve been looking for something similar, just not tiered. The blue looks great on you. Do you ever get cold in the winter with a top like that? I just have to have several layers on in the winter. If I wore that shirt, it would be with a long tunic sweater over it! ha! My blood is thinning the older I get.
Yes, I was cold. I was just determined to wear it. Ha! Actually, yesterday was a rare mild day. I wasn’t terribly cold.
I love the blue shirt. The color and style work well for you. I have a similar style from target
Lively outfit. What brand /style are the Ponte knit pants? I can’t do leggings (beefy thighs) but I think I can wear those) to tick my boots into. Thanks!
That was supposed to be *lovely*, not lively.
Hi Betsy, they are from banana republic years ago. But I hear really good things about these LOFT ponte pants. http://bit.ly/1LHwJlp
These could possibly work too? http://bit.ly/1LHwDdy
