Today it was slightly harder than yesterday to get motivated, but I made sure I was dressed and ready for the day before the kids were out the door to school. Since they had a 2-hour delay, I had some extra grace!
For today’s outfit, I pulled some oldies but goodies out of the back of my closet. This red top is from Banana Republic. It’s just as simple layering tee, but I like the styling. The neckline is a bit wider than a regular crew, and it has a nice weight to it. I’m so over the tissue tees! I put it on with my favorite DL1961 Florence skinnies and a black puffer vest.
I accessorized with gold. The gold teardrop earrings are Stella & Dot, and the necklace came in a Rockbox once, I believe. The bracelet is a Kate Spade piece I bought off eBay last winter. I love it, and I’m not sure why I don’t wear it more!
The biggest question with this outfit was, to belt or not to belt. I tend to prefer letting my shirt hang, but I notice on Pinterest, I’m always drawn to outfits where they wear a belt and do a half-tuck, so that’s what I decided to do today.
It’s been raining all day, so the rain boots were a must. I am so excited that I was able to get them on over my brace. I did have to work to get my foot inside, but now that they’re on they’re super comfortable. Pardon the blurry. My 12-year-old took these pictures!
Well, I’m two for two!
Love all your outfits — quick question how do you keep your jeans so taught with boots on? I always get bunched up knees.
thanks
The key is to buy them tight enough. I actually love these jeans b/c they really are tight enough for boots. I have another pair I wore last week that I put on with tall boots, and they got bunchy and didn’t look good. So you end up having some jeans that look better tucked into boots and others that look better worn with flats. It’s a pain, really.
Ah! I was thinking that, too, because even when I buy super skinny jeans they bunch up no matter what! Do you tuck them into your socks, too?
Nope. Don’t have to if they fit right. 🙂
Just a shout out to any Mom over 30 who tuck and belts 😉
Ha, well, it didn’t stay that way for long….
Nice… was just sitting here trying to figure out what to wear for my 8a (gasp!) dr appt tomorrow. I may just copy this. 😉
🙂
I’ve been trying to be brave and tuck in…..I haven’t in years!! I’m short waisted so it depends on the shirt and rise of the jeans as to whether I feel brave enough! You look fab, even on a rainy day!
Same here. Short waisted, and these jeans are a higher rise than I really like with a tuck. In fact, I kept looking at my photo on Instagram thinking they look like Mom Jeans, the way I had cropped the picture. Sometimes it’s a hard call. I ended up untucking the shirt and zipping the vest for most of the day. 🙂
Nice choice with the belt! Where did you get that one (I bought the watch you wear and am loving it!).
I think it was from Francesca’s. It’s old.
I am going to order a pair of those jeans — would you say they are true to size? and which wash do you have them in.
Thanks
Yes, true to size. I’m usually a 29 in designer denim. Mine are the Topeka wash. 🙂
Love your boots hun! I’m a huge fan of Hunter (I have 5 pairs!) but i haven’t gotten my hands on a grey pair yet. I need them for the Seattle weather too!
You are awesome. FIVE PAIR! That is DEFINITELY a Seattle wardrobe. 🙂
Thank you! Honestly i love Hunters so much i might have 10 before its said and done. Right now i have black, white, red, pink and royal blue. I think youd look really cute in red and pink also yellow!
A red pair is definitely on my short list!
Awesome 🙂 hey are you much of a dress girl? I know of a bunch that i think youd look really cute in if youd like me to show you?
So cute! Can you tell me the color and style of you Hunter boots? I love them.
Yep! I linked to them in the post. They’re the high gloss original in graphite. http://bit.ly/1G7DARk
Thanks! They didn’t look high gloss in the photo.
