A Fresh Round of Spring Try-Ons: Quince & EVEREVE Finds

I’ve got a fresh round of try-ons to share today—this one leans heavily into Quince and EVEREVE, with lots of spring-ready pieces, denim, and versatile layers. There are some really good finds in here, along with a few that didn’t quite work for me, so I’ll walk you through what I’m keeping, what I’m returning, and how everything fits.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and typically wear a small or medium in tops and dresses, a 29–30 in jeans and pants, and a size 8.5 shoe. I often fall between sizes, so fit notes matter.

Quince Finds for Spring

I went a little deep on Quince this time—think linen pants, denim, and a few easy spring layers. Some of these I’ve already worn (always a good sign), and a couple didn’t quite work for me, so I’m breaking it all down.

Quince 100% European Linen Patch Pocket Wide Leg Pants in Flax

at Quince (10) // Quince Waffle Sweater Tank (M) // Quince Cutout Slide Sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Timeless, effortlessly polished, and designed for all-day ease. Our 100% European Linen Patch Pocket Wide Leg Pants are perfect for staying cool and comfortable. The refined silhouette features a high-rise fit and a wide leg shape, striking the perfect balance between structure and ease. Thoughtfully designed with patch pockets for a touch of utility, these linen pants are a versatile staple for warm-weather styling.

  • Measurements: 11 1/4″ front rise; 18 1/2″ leg opening; 28″ inseam
  • Material: 100% European linen
  • Care: Machine wash cold with like colors. Gentle cycle. Tumble dry low.

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve shared these before, but I feel like I finally got the right size. This is the size 10, and while they fit snug out of the box, they definitely loosened up with wear. When I wore the size 12 in St. Lucia, I realized they were definitely too big. I really like this flax color as a summery neutral. The 28″ length is a smidge shorter than my ideal, but I think they work.

VERDICT: Keeping!

100% Organic Cotton Waffle Cropped Sweater Tank in Dove Grey

at Quince (M) // Quince linen pants (10) // Quince Cutout Slide Sandal (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Warm-weather sweater energy. This waffle stitch tank delivers subtle texture and a breezy feel thanks to its breathable 100% organic cotton. The wide hem and cropped fit give it just the right amount of structure, whether layered under a cardigan or worn solo with high-rise shorts. Easy to style and even easier to wear.

  • Material: 100% organic cotton
  • Care: Machine wash cold, lay flat to dry.

MY THOUGHTS: I brought this to Florida with me and wore it to dinner my first night there, so you already know I kept it. I really like the waffle stitch texture and the subtle contrast of the rolled edges and wide hem. It’s just a bit more interesting than a basic sweater tank, and this Dove Grey color reads more like a pale blue to me, which is really pretty. It pairs beautifully with white denim and beige linen pants, and it also works with medium-wash blue jeans or even washed black for a bit more edge.

VERDICT: Kept it, wore it!

100% Organic Cotton Boyfriend Crew Sweater in Speckled Beige

at Quince (S) // Quince Bella Relaxed Straight (30/30) // Quince Glove Ballet Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Your go-to for spring brunch and relaxed weekends, our Organic Cotton Boyfriend Crew has an oversized, cropped silhouette with ribbed detail on cuffs and hem. It’s made from 100% organic cotton for a soft, slouchy vibe & just-right weight. A timeless transitional layer you’ll wear season after season.

  • Measurements: Slightly cropped length with a flattering high-low hem
  • Material: 100% organic cotton
  • Care: Machine wash cool on delicate cycle. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry.

MY THOUGHTS: This cotton sweater is chunky and cozy, perfect for those of us who tend to have chilly spring weather. It has a drop shoulder, which I find adds some visual bulk, although I know a lot of people like that detail. The quality is there, and it’s comfortable, but I’m not sure it does much for me. I do think it’s a nice option for throwing over the shoulders or wearing with a t-shirt or tank.

VERDICT: Probably returning this one, but it’s a good quality piece if you like the styling.

Bella Stretch Relaxed Straight Jeans in Atlantic Blue

at Quince (30/30) // Quince Cotton Boyfriend Crew (S) // Quince Glove Ballet Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Our Bella Stretch Relaxed Straight Jeans has the look of vintage ‘90s-inspired denim with added stretch that fits just right. The flattering high-rise cut hugs in all the right places while the relaxed leg brings a laid-back vibe.

  • Measurements: 30″ inseam; 10 1/2″ rise; 20″ leg opening
  • Material: 73% organic cotton, 26% Lyocell Tencel, 1% spandex
  • Care: Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low inside out.

MY THOUGHTS: I can’t remember if I’ve tried these before or not, but I ordered them to see if I like the silhouette better than the Bella Wide Leg that I’ve had for a while. I’m not sure why, but I feel like the wide-leg style is actually more flattering. Normally I prefer a slimmer silhouette. I think I also prefer the more uniform wash on my wide-leg pair.

VERDICT: I’ll probably return these. They’re comfortable, but I don’t love all of the fading in the wash, and I feel like the wide-leg pair is more flattering on me.

Bella Stretch Wide Leg Jeans in Seaside Blue

at Quince (30/30) // Quince Waffle Sweater Tank (M) // Quince Glove Ballet Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Meet the Bella Stretch Wide Leg Jeans, our ‘70s-inspired style with an added stretch that fits just right. The curve-hugging high-rise cut and relaxed wide leg make this a versatile pair for dressing up or down. Crafted from premium super-stretch denim with organic cotton, it has the flexible fit and impossibly soft feel you’ll always reach for.

  • Measurements: 30″ inseam; 10 1/2″ rise; 22 1/2″ leg opening
  • Material: 94% organic cotton, 5% elasterell-p, 1% lycra
  • Care: Machine wash cold with like colors. Tumble dry low inside out.

MY THOUGHTS: I like these a lot. I feel like they have a nice, even wash and a streamlined fit. The rear pocket placement looks good, and the 30″ length is perfect for wearing with flats.

VERDICT: These are already in my closet!

Ultra-Stretch Ponte Cap Sleeve Dress in Ocean Green

at Quince (M) // Quince Leather Strappy Sandals (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Ready to go for work or date night, this simple-yet-elegant cap sleeve dress is part of our best-selling ponte collection. You’ll feel like a boss thanks to the smooth, streamlined fit of our thick, stretchy knit fabric that’s as comfortable as it is alluring. And it looks great dressed up or down.

  • Measurements: Length: 38″ in size small
  • Material: 67% rayon, 28% nylon, 5% spandex
  • Care: Machine wash cold with like colors. Lay flat to dry.

MY THOUGHTS: This is a really pretty classic sheath, with a banded waist and slash pockets that don’t seem to add extra bulk. Definitely classy, but it’s a little snug on me in the medium.

VERDICT: I’d prefer a better fit. I’m not sure if the large will be too long in the body or not. I do love a good sheath, but I’m also not sure I have a lot of occasions to wear this one.

Italian Leather 70mm Strappy Heel in Black

at Quince (8)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Discover sophistication in every step with our Italian Leather 70mm Strappy Heel. Crafted from Italian leather, these heels offer both style and comfort. The elegant strappy design and 70mm heel height make them a versatile choice for any occasion.

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve had my eye on these shoes for ages, and I finally took the plunge. I wanted the Cashew color, but it was on backorder, so I grabbed the black instead. They really are gorgeous shoes, and quite comfortable for a heel.

Unpopular opinion: I’m actually a big fan of a black sandal, especially a delicate strappy heel like this one. Although I will say, I think I’d prefer the Cashew or Ivory color with this teal dress. I prefer black heels with a black dress or black linen pants, or with a print that has some black in it.

VERDICT: Keeping. I think these will come in handy.

Water Repellent Windbreaker Jacket in Black

at Quince (M) // Quince Bella Wide Leg jeans (30/30) // Quince Glove Ballet Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Brace the weather in style with our Water Repellent Windbreaker Jacket. Made of recycled nylon, it’s windproof and breathable for all-day comfort and long-lasting durability. And since it’s light enough to stash in your bag, you’ll be protected wherever you travel.

  • Material: 100% recycled nylon
  • Care: Machine wash warm. Tumble dry low.

MY THOUGHTS: I really like this water-repellent jacket, with the stand collar and sleek, simple fit. It’s a nice piece of outerwear, and the black keeps it chic.

It zips easily, and I like that it has a back vent for breathability, along with a stowable hood for unexpected rain showers.

VERDICT: Keeping this one.

EVEREVE Fitting Room Try-Ons

I popped into EVEREVE the day before I left for Florida to try on a few things in store. It’s a mix of hits and misses, as always, but there are a lot of really great spring pieces in here.

Splendid Devon SS Cardigan in Red

at EVEREVE (S) // PAIGE Anessa Welt Patch Pocket (30) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: The perfect addition to your spring wardrobe, the Devon cardigan sweater by Splendid is crafted from a cotton knit and features a short sleeve silhouette, round neckline, and front button closures.

  • Measurements: Length from shoulder to hem: 21″
  • Materials: 100% cotton knit
  • Care: Machine wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: I really like this simple cardigan. There aren’t any standout details, but it has such a clean, flattering fit, and the shade of red is gorgeous.

VERDICT: Bought this one.

PAIGE Anessa w Vintage Welt Patch Pocket in Navigator

at EVEREVE (30) // Splendid cardigan (M) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Crafted in comfortable stretch cotton denim, the Anessa jean by Paige features a high-rise waist, welt patch pockets, a wide-leg silhouette, and an ankle-length inseam.

  • Measurements: Front rise: 11 5/8″, inseam: 27″, leg opening: 22 1/2″
  • Materials: 98% cotton, 2% elastane denim
  • Care: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: These are a fun update to the classic Anessa. I like the darker wash with contrast stitching, the patch pockets, and the deep trouser hems.

VERDICT: I passed. I have a lot of jeans already, and these felt a little too dramatic for my personal style—but they’re comfortable and really fun.

Splendid Krista Stripe Sweater

at EVEREVE (S) // PAIGE Anessa Welt Patch Pocket (30) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Elevate your weekend wardrobe with this easy striped sweater by Splendid, featuring a relaxed silhouette with a crew neckline and short sleeves. Make it a matching set with the Krista Stripe Sweater Pant.

  • Measurements: Length from shoulder to hem: 22 7/8″
  • Materials: 46% nylon, 32% viscose, 20% polyester, 2% elastane knit
  • Care: Machine wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: This one gave me jailbird vibes (lol), and it’s very boxy. It definitely read better on the hanger.

VERDICT: Left this one behind.

Melissa Nepton Jane Sweater

at EVEREVE (S) // MOTHER Tomcat Swisher (30)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Perfect for your warm-weather wardrobe, the Jane Sweater by Melissa Nepton features a split neckline, short sleeve silhouette, and a relaxed fit.

  • Measurements: Length from shoulder to hem: 21 3/4″
  • Materials: 100% cotton knit
  • Care: Hand wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: This is a gorgeous piece of knitwear—such nice quality. I love the details, and the colors are really pretty.

VERDICT: I bought this and took it to Florida, but when I went to wear it, it felt too big and too long. I need to try it again at home and see what happened, because I really wanted this one to work.

MOTHER The Tomcat Swisher Sneak Fray

at EVEREVE (30) // LNA Park Sleek Tee (M) // Melissa Nepton Jane Sweater (S) //

PRODUCT DETAILS: Finished in a faded blue wash, these wide leg jeans by MOTHER will instantly elevate your wardrobe, featuring a full-length inseam, raw hems, and soft stretch denim fabric.

  • Measurements: 10 3/4″ front rise; 32″ inseam; 30″ leg opening
  • Materials: 78% cotton, 16% modal, 4% polyester, 2% elastane denim
  • Care: Wash cold, hang to dry

MY THOUGHTS: I grabbed these to try a different MOTHER style, but they’re way too long on me without heels. (I was standing on my tippy-toes to get these pictures.)

I could cut them, but I don’t really need them—they’re also pretty similar to my PAIGE Anessa. I prefer the higher rise on the Anessa, too. You can see a bit of a muffin top with the black tee, and a higher rise would fix that.

VERDICT: I passed on these, but they’re great jeans if you’re in the market for this style.

KUT from the Kloth Piper Short Sleeve Jacket in Mushroom

at EVEREVE (S) // Varley Tank (S) // J.Crew Slim Wide Leg Jeans (29) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: This short sleeve jacket by KUT From The Kloth is the perfect transitional layer, featuring a cropped button-front silhouette, patch pockets, and soft denim fabric.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 20 1/2″
  • Materials: 98% cotton, 2% spandex denim
  • Care: Hand wash cold, hang to dry

MY THOUGHTS: I love the idea of a short-sleeve denim jacket for spring and summer. I feel like I’ll be able to wear it all season long, and it adds a nice third piece to warm-weather looks. This beige shade is a really nice neutral to have.

VERDICT: Bought this one.

Varley Corby V Neck Tank

at EVEREVE (S) // J.Crew Slim Wide Leg Jeans (29) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Crafted from a lightweight ribbed jersey knit fabric, the Corby Tank from Varley features a V-neckline, subtle decorative trim, and a fitted silhouette.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 23 4/5″
  • Materials: 88% modal, 12% elastane knit
  • Care: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low or dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: This tank is a really nice lightweight fabric, and it skims the body without being too clingy. It’s longer than a lot of tops right now, which is a nice option if you have a longer torso. I like the subtle texture and the thin ivory trim at the neckline.

VERDICT: I didn’t buy this one, but I do like it. The shade of brown felt a little murky to me, and it’s a bit longer than I prefer.

Lori Easy Sweater Tee

at EVEREVE (S) // J.Crew Slim Wide Leg Jeans (29) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat

PRODUCT DETAILS: Update your spring sweater collection with the Lori Easy Sweater Tee by EVEREVE. Finished with exaggerated elbow-length sleeves, this cotton sweater features a cropped silhouette, crew neckline, and fitted ribbed hem.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 23 4/5″
  • Materials: 100% cotton knit
  • Care: Hand wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: This is a nice classic elbow-length sweater in a lightweight knit—easy to pair with jeans or trousers this spring and summer.

VERDICT: I didn’t love it enough to bring it home, but it’s a pretty piece, and I like that it’s 100% cotton.

Alex Mill Elle Pointelle Cardigan

at EVEREVE (S) //  EVEREVE Rory Cami (S) // MOTHER Tomcat Swisher (30) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Add an easy layer to any look with the Elle Pointelle Cardigan by Alex Mill, featuring a crew neckline, short sleeve silhouette, and front button closures.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 19″
  • Materials: 60% cotton, 40% organic hemp knit
  • Care: Hand wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: I had this cardigan on my mental list to try, and it ended up being less yellow than I expected. It’s more of a warm beige, but it’s very pretty.

VERDICT: I’m wearing the small here, but I bought the medium.

Varley Manae Pointelle Knit Top

at EVEREVE (S) // PAIGE Mason (30)

PRODUCT DETAILS: Crafted from a delicate pointelle knit, the Manae Top from Varley features a crew neckline, contrasting rib knit trim, and cropped grown-on sleeves.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 19 3/4″
  • Materials: 55% cotton, 43% polyester, 2% elastane knit
  • Care: Machine wash cold, dry flat

MY THOUGHTS: This one was just okay for me. It’s a nice quality piece, but it’s giving me Alfred Dunner vibes (lol). Something about the combination of the texture and silhouette. It is a beautiful color, though.

VERDICT: Left this one behind.

PAIGE Mason Ankle Straight Leg

at EVEREVE (30) // Varley Manae (S) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS:

  • Measurements: 10 1/4″ front rise; 27″ inseam; 15 1/2″ leg opening
  • Materials: 98% cotton, 2% elastane denim
  • Care: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, tumble dry low

MY THOUGHTS: I spotted these in store and hadn’t seen this PAIGE style before, so I grabbed them to try, even though I was already wearing a very similar pair. These are just a bit shorter, slightly slimmer, and a brighter white than the J.Crew slim wide leg I had on that day.

VERDICT: Even though I like the J.Crew pair, I decided to get these as well. I’ll have to see if I end up wearing both, but I do think there’s a place for each in my spring wardrobe.

Come & Go Mushie Tee

at EVEREVE (L) // J.Crew Slim Wide Leg Jeans (29) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS:

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 23 1/2″
  • Materials: 100% cotton jersey
  • Care: Machine wash, tumble dry low

MY THOUGHTS: I don’t know what it is about this graphic tee, but it just called to me. Something about the mysterious, chic woman from behind. The color palette has a bit of edge, and the grey marl adds a casual contrast—it’s just a really great mix. It’s also super soft.

VERDICT: Bought this one. Fit note: it runs small. I took the large.

Good American Good Icon Crop Bootcut Jean

at EVEREVE (8) // rag & bone The Slub Crew Tee (M) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS:

  • Measurements: 11 1/2″ front rise, 28″ inseam, 16″ leg opening
  • Materials: 80% cotton, 14% lyocell, 5% polyester, 1% spandex denim
  • Care: Machine wash cold, tumble dry low

MY THOUGHTS: I don’t typically wear bright-colored bottoms, but I really loved this washed red, and I think the fit is pretty flattering, too. They’re labeled as a cropped bootcut, but they read more like a cropped straight to me. Either way, I like the fit a lot.

VERDICT: I’m wearing the 8 here but ended up purchasing the 10. The 8 was a bit snug in the waist, so I’m going to wear the 10 around at home a bit to make sure it’s the best size to keep.

KUT from the Kloth Piper Short Sleeve Jacket in Poise

at EVEREVE (S) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS: This short sleeve jacket by KUT From The Kloth is the perfect transitional layer, featuring a cropped button-front silhouette, patch pockets, and soft denim fabric.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 20 1/2″
  • Material: 73% Cotton, 24% Polyester, 2% Rayon, 1% Spandex Denim
  • Care: Hand wash cold, hang to dry

MY THOUGHTS: I like the Piper short sleeve jacket so much, I got it in the blue denim as well. I think it’s super cute with this entire outfit.

VERDICT: Bought this one too!

Mary Textured Shift Dress

at EVEREVE (M) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat (8.5)

PRODUCT DETAILS:

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 34 1/2″
  • Materials: 55% polyester, 45% cotton knit
  • Care: Machine wash cold, gentle cycle, tumble dry low

MY THOUGHTS: I love this simple knit sheath with its subtle texture and contrast stitching. It’s easy and comfortable, and it skims the body in a really flattering way.

VERDICT: Kept it, and wore it in Florida.

Splendid Chelly Linen Dress

at EVEREVE (M) // Dolce Vita Mikel Flat

PRODUCT DETAILS: Finished in a breezy lyocell-linen blend, this Splendid mini dress features an easy pullover silhouette with a V-neckline, side pockets, and short sleeves.

  • Length from shoulder to hem: 33″
  • Materials: 77% lyocell, 22% linen, 1% spandex woven
  • Care: Machine wash cold, hang to dry

MY THOUGHTS: This one wasn’t such a hit for me, but I figured I’d include it in case you’ve been eyeing it. It’s a cute cut—I like the v-neck, the sleeves, and the shift shape isn’t too boxy—but it’s so short. I just don’t really see the point of that, but if you’re a bit shorter than me, it might work for you.

VERDICT: I left this one behind.

I usually try to end on a high note, but this is where we’re wrapping up today. I hope you found a few new ideas in here, whether you’re adding a few pieces for spring or just getting inspired by what you already own.

  1. That red sweater is gorgeous 😍 A great try-on post! You are slowly persuading me on the short-sleeved denim jackets….I was firmly opposed when they first appeared this season. My thought process has been…if it’s cool enough for a denim jacket, it’s not short-sleeve temps…I have skinny little arms that turn into chicken skin with the slightest cold breeze! But these looks are just so cute!

  2. I have purchased 3 pair of those Mother Swisher Sneak jeans, they have become my favorite pair. I had to cut off at least 4 inches, they were definitely the longest pair I’ve ever purchased. Love the short sleeve denim jackets.

  3. I just received my Evereve Piper jacket yesterday and love it! It was a tad on the big side but I didn’t want to size down, especially in case it shrinks a little after washing. I wondered if I would like a short sleeve jacket but I can see this being useful when I want a little more coverage and warmth but don’t want to wear a full jacket. I purchased the Quince sweater tank (first Quince order!) and looking forward to getting it! The Bella wide leg jeans, sandals and windbreaker all look great on you. I’m contemplating the sandals and windbreaker, but since there aren’t half sizes and I’m an 8.5, I’m nervous neither the 8 nor the 9 would work (one too small, the other two large). I have been wanting an ecru sandal. The windbreaker might come in handy when we go to Niagara Falls this summer.

  4. Love the washed red cropped bootcut, those are just a fun addition! I’m going to try these on at a store if I can find them (Macy’s carries this brand) and if not, I’ll chance it online, I’ve never bought the Good American brand, I’m usually always a 2 in every brand but if they run snug might need to size up

  5. I purchased the black Quince windbreaker after you shared it in an Instagram reel and I’ve wore it several times on rainy days. I’m very happy with this purchase!

  6. Oh my goodness, ROFL, that “jailbird” striped top, yikes, all it needs is a box with 6 digits in it emblazoned on the front of it, and some “bracelets” to complete the look. Sorry, but IMO that shirt is an example of stripes done WRONG. Anyhow, I bought the Quince waffle sweater tank, but after a couple wears and washes, it became very misshapen, so I let it go. Disappointing because I really did like it a lot, but it stretched out so much through the shoulders that I couldn’t wear it anymore. Love the Quince ponte cap sleeve sheath, but it’s not available anymore in the ocean green, which would be my color of choice. Will keep my eye open for a restock. Love the Alex Mill pointelle cardigan but for my budget, that would have to be a sale item. Thanks for some great options!

  7. I totally agree with you on black heeled sandals! I think the key is for them to be very strappy and have a low vamp to elongate the leg. These are perfect for both. I’ve noticed the women who do the “wear this not that” comparisons discouraging black heels often have one with thicker straps that cut across the ankle. I fully agree that can be unflattering, but I always find myself saying (often out loud!) “get a lower vamp!!” I think with this pair, even though they do have the narrow strap at the ankle, the way the other straps run down the side draws the eye down and still visually lengthens. I’d definitely wear them!

  8. So many good options–thank you! I love the mushroom Piper jacket and think I’ll order it. Sizing is where I’m unsure. I usually wear a size 29 their jeans. I find that works well for me as I’m a bit of an hourglass shape. But, I’ve never tried their jackets. Do you feel like you can easily move your arms and shoulders in the size small? I am often a Medium in other tops/jackets in other brands (there was a blue and white long sleeve button up you tried a while back from Evereve, and I ended up getting a medium, which worked well for my arms/shoulders) but not sure which size to go with on this. I can’t stand that feeling of being closed up in a jacket or shirt. Thanks!

  9. Sorry to ask another question on the piper short sleeve jacket–but I have in my cart—you bought the small–I’m wondering if you are able to button it up if you wanted to? Is it stretchy at all? I’m going back and forth between getting a medium or small. I’m a 36C–I want to be able to button up for some different styling options.

    1. I’m a 36C and I got the small. It fits well with a little room, and that’s with buttoning it up. But in reality I’ll probably always leave it open.

  10. Your Alfred Dunner vibe comment was spot on. I remember my mother wearing that brand back in the day. And Carolyn’s comment about “Jailbird” outfit was too funny. And with the matching pants it would definitely read Prison outfit. Who comes up with these designs lol.

  11. LOVE LOVE LOVE the red denim! I’m thinking it’s because they’re a bit worn-in and faded…so cute! Thank you for showing them; I think I’ll order and see if I can handle the rise! I liked the top of the Anessa jean until I scrolled a little further. The hem on them being so boldly stitched stops my eye in addition to the crop.
The dark blue Evereve dress looks great on the top but I was surprised to see it being so misshapen on the bottom. Even on the model on the website it looks poor. I get the concept, but that’d be a deal breaker for me when the fabric cannot even hold it’s structure. Bummer! I hate being so finicky!
The Melissa Nepton sweater is so pretty! Curious to see if you end up keeping.

  12. Alfred Dunner 😂😂😂
Question for someday: remind me what at home tanners you like or if you prefer to get spray tans? Thanks! Tina

  13. Thank you Katheryne and Jo Lynne both on getting the small piper jacket! I just ordered it! I can see it upping lots of outfits and styles

  14. Love the red denim on you. Love the faded red. Looks like right size from here but nothing worse than a tight waist.

  15. Without even realizing how, when, or where it happened, I must have somehow crossed into another era. I have had the blue Varley sweater hanging in my closet for several weeks now, and I can’t wait to wear it. I guess it’s time for me to go wherever one goes to get their official “old lady” card.

    1. HAHA, Rhonda! I think this sweater can be worn in a very modern way, like the model at Evereve, with denim and trendy scarf. Even a front tuck if it’s long enough for that. I love the pointelle and the color blue, but don’t like that neckline, I need more of a scoop or V-neck. Rock that sweater!!

    2. I agree with Sue. I mean, it’s Varley! It’s right on trend. There’s just something about the combination of the cut, neckline, color, and the texture that just made my mind go right there… but I’m sure it would be striking on the right person.

  16. “Alfred Dunner vibes” 🤣 I know exactly what you mean. My grandma loved when Alfred Dunner at Gottshak’s balking the day. Hearing that helps me remember her fondly.
You found lots of great pieces. Thanks for the thorough reviews, as always.

  17. I’ve stopped buying anything from Quince. The quality is just very low. It washes poorly and nearly everything I purchased last year looked very rough after one season of wearing. Plus so many people are buying this fast fashion from Quince that, when you go to work, 3 people are wearing your same sweater! We look clones. lol. I’ve shifted to the buy less, and buy good quality.

    1. Yes to this, Louise. I ordered a linen shirt and pants last year. I wasn’t impressed with the fit at all. I didn’t send them back (should have), but I never reach for them. For the price, someone is not getting paid, and it’s not the people at the top.

    2. Ok, I just got an email from Quince offering to give me a $10 credit for speaking to them on the phone about my first and only purchase which was in 2024. That’s creepy timing. Is my email address being shared or sold?

      1. If you’ve made a purchase with Quince, they would already have your email on file from that order. Commenting on my blog doesn’t share your email with retailers, and I would never share or sell reader information. Any emails you receive from a retailer would be coming directly from them based on your interaction with their site.

  18. Hi! I don’t travel much by plane but am contemplating a trip to Iceland! Wanted to verify that the Aveniee pouch from Amazon can be used as the 1 quart container for liquids? It says TSA approved but was not 100% sure what that meant.
    Thanks so much!!!
Look forward to your emails every day!

    1. I think so. I have TSA Precheck so I never get asked to take out my liquids. It seems bigger than a quart size to me but it does say TSA compliant, and it’s clear, so it might be fine. You could also compare – see if the same items that fit in that also fit in a quart size ziplock bag.

  19. I like the even wash of the Bella wide leg jeans. I heard the distressed look is out but I still see it. The sandals are cute too and very flattering on you. I like a lot of the clothes from both retailers especially the short sleeve denim jacket and the graphic T. I don’t like the prices though. Lol. Gas prices are crazy and I’m going to try to be very frugal with wardrobe spending.

  20. I also bought the Splendid red sweater when I was at the mall a couple of weeks ago. So cute! I saw that blue dress there and am tempted.

  21. Alfred Dunner vibes might be the funniest thing you’ve said on this blog. I knew exactly what you meant!
