Just remember, even when I decide not to keep something, it doesn’t mean it isn’t worth checking out. I just may not need it, or it may not work for my body type or lifestyle.

MY THOUGHTS: If you’re looking for a good basic crewneck t-shirt, this one is a great option. I appreciate the 100% cotton fabric that is the perfect mid-weight. It has a boxy fit, so it does need a tuck to look styled, in my opinion, but the 22″ length makes it easy. This heather grey is a really nice shade, too.

VERDICT: Holding onto this one!

MY THOUGHTS: These pants were gifted, and I was curious to try them once I read the hype. They really are extremely flattering and comfortable, but quite a dramatic silhouette for my personal style.

Z Supply Prado Stripe Sweater Tee in Lake Blue

MY THOUGHTS: This is a nice lightweight sweater for transition weather. I love the color palette and the easy fit. I would style it just as I did here, with light wash blue jeans and neutral Mary Janes. I love this perforated suede pair in the buttery beige shade.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, hoping it warms up here soon!

Risen Rosie Ankle Flare Jeans in Cream

MY THOUGHTS: These are pretty good for a mid-price denim, but they run small for Risen. The size 30 was very snug on me, although they may stretch out some with wear. The ecru shade and porkchop pockets give them a modern vibe, and the ankle flare silhouette is very flattering… at least, it’s one of my personal favorite cuts!

VERDICT: I need to wear these around and see if they loosen up, but they’re a nice option if you’re looking for a pair of ecru denim that won’t break the budget.

MY THOUGHTS: I love this cozy pullover with the layered look, but it runs very big. I ordered the medium a while back and returned it because it was so oversized. This small fits much better, but it’s still a generous fit.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, will be nice for casual WFH days. I’ll style it as I did here, with light wash jeans and white gum sole sneakers. It might be fun to pair with jean shorts this summer, too.

MOTHER The Itty Bitty Ringer in Rookie Mistake

MY THOUGHTS: I grabbed this cute tee on sale a few weeks ago. I’ve had a few MOTHER tees before (always on sale because they’re pricey), and I was drawn to the bold color palette and the sassy “Rookie Mistake” text.

VERDICT: Keeping the large. This style runs small, and while the medium I’m wearing here technically fits, I prefer a little more room, especially in case it shrinks in the wash.

MOTHER Little Goodie Goodie Tee in Shrimp Cocktail

MY THOUGHTS: I had already ordered the red tee when I was invited by MOTHER Denim to choose a couple of items from their spring lookbook, and this one caught my eye for the pretty pink color. I also happen to love shrimp cocktail, so that’s a thing!

The text is an appliqué detail, and the fabric is incredibly soft, so the quality is there. Still, it’s a steep price point for a graphic tee.

Fit note: Knowing their tees run small, I requested the large in this one, but it’s quite roomy. I might toss it in the dryer for a few minutes to see if it shrinks up a bit.

VERDICT: Keeping.

MOTHER Kick It in Melt In Your Mouth

MY THOUGHTS: I’m already a fan of this MOTHER denim style, so I was excited to try this lighter wash. It’s really fun for summer, and the denim is lightweight, stretchy, and comfortable. They’re too long to wear with flats, so I turned them under to get a better idea of how they’d look if I have them hemmed.

VERDICT: On the fence—they’re super flattering and comfortable, but I need to decide if it’s worth having them hemmed, especially since I already have so many jeans.

Talbots Crewneck Sweater in Multi Stripe

MY THOUGHTS: This is a really pretty little spring sweater. I love the color palette, with the light blue and green stripes on a soft ivory base. It’s a cotton/acrylic blend, so that’s worth noting, but it feels more like 100% cotton.

I styled it as I would likely wear it, with light- to mid-wash blue jeans and white gum sole sneakers, but these ankle-length jeans may not be the best match with the 23″ length of the sweater.

Here’s how it looks with a slightly longer denim style, the MOTHER Kick It. It’s subtle, but I feel like the proportions work better here.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, it’s perfect for the chilly spring weather we tend to have here in Philly.

Nordstrom Cashmere Johnny Collar Short Sleeve Sweater

MY THOUGHTS: This sweater is beautiful, but it’s quite sheer. It also runs a bit small, so I also ordered the medium to compare, and I like this fit much better.

VERDICT: Probably a pass for me. I’m not sure I’d reach for it, but it’s a beautiful option if you don’t mind that it’s a bit sheer.

MY THOUGHTS: Okay, I absolutely love these jeans—and they’re 30% off right now! They tap into my 70s flower child self, haha. I love the subtle boho flare, and the fit is so flattering. I have the washed black pair that I wore a lot last year, so I know they wash and wear well for me, even though I don’t typically go for rigid denim.

Fit note: I’m wearing the 30 above, which is quite comfortable, but I have the black pair in a 29, which I was still able to wiggle into—even with a little extra weight in the middle—so I also tried these in the 29.

I feel like the 29 may be slightly more flattering, but they’re very snug through the waistband. I want to wear them around a bit before deciding which size to keep. With 100% cotton, you really have to give it some time.

VERDICT: On the fence about sizing—I love these, but I need to decide between the 29 and 30.

FRAME The Pixie Lax Frayed High Waist Flare Jeans

VERDICT: Returned this pair.

MY THOUGHTS: I absolutely love this little top. It’s so simple, but the fit and the details are so good. I also tried it with these PAIGE Stevie Ankle Straight Jeans and Splendid Fedora Slides. I unbuttoned a few buttons to open up the neckline and added some fun accessories.

VERDICT: Keeping, for sure! This is exactly the type of piece I need to throw on with jeans or shorts this summer. I might even order another color, while the 10X event is happening.

MY THOUGHTS: I tried on a few things at my local Nordstrom earlier this week, and most didn’t even warrant a photo, but I felt like I needed to capture this one as a reminder of what doesn’t work for me.

I’m always drawn to these classic poplin dresses, but this is exactly why I never wear them. Woof. This silhouette just doesn’t do me any favors—I feel like I gained 20 pounds when I put this on.

VERDICT: This one stayed at the store! That said, it’s a beautiful dress if this style works for you.

Twist Front Cap Sleeve Midi Dress in Red Saucy

I love the color, and the twist-front detail is really pretty. I would try a bra with a little more separation and a little less cleavage.

VERDICT: Debating this one—it’s beautiful and might be worth having on hand in case of an event this summer.
