Hi, friends! I hope you’re staying warm in these frigid temps. I’ve been trying out some new pieces from Gap Factory, and I’m excited to share a few outfit ideas with you today. These looks combine timeless staples like jeans and sweaters with a few fresh updates. Best of all, each piece is budget-friendly, easy to style, and works seamlessly with what’s already in your closet.

Current Promo: Up to 75% off sitewide + 50% off Mystery Deals. Plus, score an extra 10% off your purchase. Valid 1/22-1/28.
These Mid Rise Baby Boot Jeans are sleek, slimming, and incredibly flattering. The silhouette leans toward a straight leg, making them highly versatile for everyday wear. The fabric offers just the right amount of stretch for comfort and ease of movement. Plus, they’re available in short, regular, and tall lengths—I’m wearing the 30 regular. (Fit note: They run a little small, so consider sizing up.)

I paired them with this Roll Neck Sweater in Black White Stripe, a modern classic crafted from 100% cotton. Right now, it’s of the Mystery Deals for 50% off, plus an extra 10% off. The clean black-and-white stripes feel crisp and polished for winter, but it’s also available in bold, cheerful colors that give a nod to spring.

To complete the look, I added this Quilted Nylon Jacket in Birch White, and it’s also one of the Gap Factory Mystery Deals for 50% off, plus an extra 10% off! This an affordable way to give your outerwear collection a fresh update. The straight, easy fit allows plenty of room for layering, and the subtle diamond quilting adds a modern touch without feeling overdone.

For those looking ahead to transition season, these High Rise Soft Vintage Slim Jeans in the Light Wash are a versatile pick for wearing now and later. They’re high-waisted and fitted through the hip and thigh, with a slim straight silhouette and a 28″ inseam that’s designed to hit right at the ankle. Available in short and tall sizes, they also come in a variety of washes to suit your style.

Relaxed Stripe V-Neck Cardigan in Navy Stripe (S) // High Rise Soft Vintage Slim Jeans in Light Wash (29)
I topped them off with this Relaxed Stripe V-Neck Cardigan (another Mystery Deal) in the Navy Stripe, a polished piece that elevates a casual denim look. The gold buttons add a trendy touch this season, and the relaxed fit gives it a modern vibe. It is a little low-cut, so you might want to layer a tank or tee underneath. I actually ordered this fitted cami in ivory to wear with it, and then I forgot to bring it with me to the photo shoot!

Finally, this CashSoft Cable-Knit Crewneck Sweater is such a timeless addition to any wardrobe. I styled it in navy last fall, and it was a favorite, so when I spotted the light grey heather, I couldn’t resist checking it out. It’s even prettier in person—the texture adds depth to this simple look, and it’s a quality piece you’ll reach for again and again. Unfortunately, it seems this color is selling out, but that light brown is also really pretty.
You can layer this sweater over a white tee for a little added warmth—let it peek out the top for added interest and a current look. It’s also perfect for layering under a quilted vest or draping over your shoulders, for a preppy twist.

I styled it with my High Rise Soft Vintage Slim Jeans in the Black Wash, which I’ve shared before, and silver sneakers for a simple monochromatic look. This is the same style as the Light Wash jeans I featured above, and they’re such a great basic to have in your closet, if you’re looking for budget-friendly denim.

I had my eye on that black and white striped rollneck sweater. Are the white stripes a crisp white or more an off white? I am looking for a crisp white. I was going to order to see but had to recently return another sweater to GAP factory and would feel bad returning another item so shortly after.
Thank you!!
I would say it’s more crisp.
I actually have the soft vintage slim jeans on right now with the same sweater that you are wearing, except it’s a different color. I have several pairs of these jeans in different colors, and I love them. They are a great jean for the price. I usually have to buy curvy jeans, but these fit me well. I’m so glad that you style clothes from Gap Factory from time to time. Enjoy your time with your daughter!
It got down to 6 degrees here, early yesterday morning. Of course with the snow we had and what’s still on the ground, it feels much colder than usual. Thank you so much for doing this budget friendly post! I like everything you shared and you look amazing in all of them. I keep getting emails about their sale, but I haven’t opened them yet. Now I will!
Love GAP Factory, thanks for a great post. I think their items stand the test of time, for the most part and love that you shared some classic but fresh items that look good today, but will still be current in a few years ( especially with those on a budget)or at least I hope so!
I purchased the cable sweater when you featured it in the fall, and I purchased the soft vintage jeans when you featured them a month or so ago. I’m very pleased with both. Outstanding quality, fit, and price.
Thanks so much for a budget friendly post! Most of my jeans, sweaters, and layering tees are from GAP factory.
I have ordered the black and white sweater. They still have the cable knit in gray in a large. I may order it since some of the reviews say to size up.
Yes, I would size up.
The gray sweater is not available in small sizes. I liked the blush pink one too but not available. I like all the clothes.
I wish Gap factory would come up with gray jeans. What is the rise of the black bootleg jeans. It’s hard for me to determine my size with mid-rise. Either too tight or if I size up too tight.
The “Shop My Closet” is a really nice new feature. I just used it to buy a sweater for a birthday gift using your link! Thanks!
Yay, glad to hear it’s helpful. And thank you!
I like the fashion ideas from Gap Factory and Old Navy. They align with my budget. Thank you for including them from time to time!
I’ve been a subscriber for awhile and haven’t had any issues until this month. For some reason I keep getting booted off your subscribers list. It’s happened three times this month. A few days ago, someone else wrote to you about this issue as well.
Also, I have a burning question. I know you are a former teacher, which I am currently, so I’m sure you appreciate the value of good support while being on your feet all day. Not long ago, you mentioned something about staying away from Vionic. I swear by them, so I was just wondering why you said that. I understand that you don’t have the same job anymore, and don’t have those same hours on your feet, but I am curious.
Hey Gail, I don’t remember saying to stay away from Vionic, but maybe I said I don’t wear a lot of them? Something like that? I don’t need that level of support, but if I did, I would consider them. I find their styles to be hit or miss, but I did have a pair of their sandals last year that I liked a lot.
As far as the email list, that is so frustrating. I looked up your email address in my Flodesk account, and it says they are sending. It shows all the emails I have sent this month as delivered to you, so it must be something your email provider is doing. For some reason, it must be flagging my emails as spam. I’m not familiar with your email provider, but you can try looking in trash and spam and promotions folders to find them. Adding my email address to your contacts sometimes helps let your provider know you want to see my emails. And if you do find them in spam, mark them “not spam”. The email address to add to your contacts is [email protected].
What do you think the rise is on the black wash jeans? I really like your new shop my closet addition. Makes it easy to find item and the size. Thanks!
I bought the Gap Factory black striped sweater. Do I need the GF black denim? 😉. I also picked up the Old Navy pretty herb green cardigan yesterday.
