Athleta 20% Off Sale Favorites

Athleta is doing a rare 20% off sale, and I started to include my favorites pieces in the Weekend Sale Roundup section of my Saturday newsletter. It got so long, I decided to whip up a quick post!

Good winter running jackets rarely go on sale and usually sell out before they do, so this is a great time to grab one!

This Inlet Jacket is my favorite winter outdoorsy walking/running/hiking jacket. It’s the one I go for on the coldest days, and I wear it a ton during fall and winter. It’s puffy only on the front and back, and it has thinner, stretchy side panels and sleeves.

It’s shockingly lightweight, and very comfy. The hood can be cinched tight to protect your head and ears from wind and cold, but it doesn’t bother me when it’s pushed back, as in these pictures. I have it in the size small.

They also make an Inlet Vest, and I’ve been wishing I had a more athletic quilted vest, so I just ordered it. It’s exactly what I need for wearing over top of turtlenecks and tees on milder fall days. In fact, I just ordered this Flurry Force Henley to wear with it.

This Flurry Force Insulated Jacket is my other favorite winter running jacket; it is much thinner than the Inlet Jacket, but surprisingly warm.

It has an insulated quilted panel on the front, and stretchy ribbed fabric the rest of the way around. It’s very comfortable as well as figure-flattering, and the high neck is nice for blocking out wind. I wear this when it’s not quite cold enough to need the Inlet Jacket.

My favorite Pranayama Restore Wrap is included in the sale as well; I’m wearing it right now, in fact! This is the buttery soft wrap I always mention in my travel posts.

I always bring it with me so I have something to throw on over pajamas in the mornings, or with joggers to run down to the lobby for coffee, and it can also serve as a comfy cardigan with jeans and a tee.

The Ranier Reflective Tight is perfect for winter running and other cold weather outdoor excursions.

And this Cozy Karma Asym Pullover is super cozy and very cute on.

The Uptempo Hoodie is buttery soft and very comfy. I like the longer length with leggings.

And a few other mentions…. The Momentum Seamless Tee is one of my favorites for gym workouts, this Triumph Sweatshirt looks so cozy (I swear I’ve tried it but I can’t find a pic), and I’ve heard great things about this Rainier Bootcut Pant. They look perfect for travel.

Also, these are the best Polartec insulated tights for the coldest weather. I just ordered the pants. Whew! So much good stuff. It’s been a while since I’ve purchased winter workout gear, so I’m excited to get my order.

  1. It’s like you read my mind! I was just perusing that sale yesterday (and again this morning). I’m fact, I searched “40 something Athleta outfits” on Pinterest this morning. Lo and behold, a picture I took of you at a blogging conference in Phoenix years ago was among my top results. Miss you! Thanks for these great suggestions.

  2. Athleta (and Vuori!) = my live-in wardrobe Friday 4p – Monday 7a, lol. The length of the jacket is all it really takes to elevate this look and to make it “age appropriate”. I am in my 50s and try to stay active (because I don’t “feel old”!) as well as keep things stylish (though: I often can’t believe the way some of these people you see in stores today go out wearing gym clothes the wrong size and haven’t a care in the world apparently, to put it mildly).
