Good morning and happy Saturday! I’m stying a maxi skirt outfit today, and this one is 50% off at Loft!
We haven’t seen a lot of these jersey knit pull-on maxi skirts in the past few years, so I was really excited to see this one pop up on the Loft website a few weeks ago.
I ordered it immediately, and it didn’t disappoint. It’s made of a lightweight rayon/poly blend that is soft and flowy and perfect for pairing with a simple tank top or t-shirt.
This skirt is on sale for 50% off for two days only, and it’s TTS; I’m wearing a small.
I wasn’t terribly creative with my styling of this skirt. The white tank with a denim jacket on top seemed like an obvious choice, so I didn’t challenge myself to think outside the box, but I’m sure there are some other fun ways to wear it.

This is my go-to Vince Camuto mid-wash denim jacket with the J.Crew vintage cotton tank underneath.
I went ahead and tucked the tank all the way around, and I tried to blouse it out some to elongate my short upper body, but I think I could have worn the skirt a little lower on my waist to help with that.
What I think I’d like better with this skirt is a tie-front t-shirt worn over top. that would balance out my proportions a little better — like this one. I have it in the grey, and I think I might order the white too.
I’d be more likely to wear it without the jacket if I didn’t have my tank tucked in. A front-tuck is another option.
I kept this maxi skirt outfit casual with nude slides and subtle jewelry, and I carried a casual white leather crossbody.

Love the ease of a maxi skirt. I bought the J Crew vintage tees when you recommended them earlier this year …love them. The look is great.
Have a great weekend.
So glad they worked for you!
Another great outfit! I love the variety you are showing, definitely something for everyone! You certainly have filled my Pinterest Board with fresh ideas! Enjoy your weekend!
Thanks, Gina. You too!
What an awesome outfit, Jo-Lynne! And you look so nice in it. Since I don’t need any thickness added to my tummy area, I’m wondering if a tee that ties on the side would work with this skirt. I bet your girls did really well in their piano recital last night. Enjoy the time with your parents! Happy Fathers Day to Paul and your dad!
I agree that a tee that ties on the side would be better with this look — especially for those of us who don’t want to add to that area.
I found a side tie top online at Belk and ordered it yesterday. I will let you know how it looks upon it’s arrival. I have a maxi skirt that I haven’t worn yet due to not having the right top. The side tie top should do the trick.
The link for the skirt leads to the slides.
Ooops! Thank you, it’s fixed.
Hi Jo Lynne
I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading your blog. I’ve checked out a few others, and technically your font and size is so easy to read and your writing flows and it’s fun and informative.
Also, your running journal has inspired me, I ran a local 5K yesterday 10.3/mile, below my usual 11. Thanks for the motivation!
