Cozy Meets Chic: Winter Styles for Every Occasion from Frank & Eileen

Cooler weather and the approaching holiday season means it’s time to refresh our wardrobes with pieces that blend comfort and style, and Frank & Eileen‘s winter collection offers just that. Their mix of relaxed yet elevated designs are ideal for everything from running errands to casual get-togethers and cozy holiday events. Case in point, the Izzie Sweatshirt Party Dress.

Izzie is the sweatshirt dress that’s as sophisticated as it is comfortable—think of it as your new favorite LBD with a cozy twist. It’s made of Frank & Eileen’s signature triple fleece cotton with a stylish rolled funnel neck and long sleeves. The hand-cut raw hem and edges add a modern touch, while the pullover design makes it easy to slip on and go.

I love how this dress combines laid-back ease with just the right amount of polish. It’s the perfect piece to transition from day to night. I styled it here as a dressier monochromatic look, with black tights and black suede knee boots, but you could also dress it down with sneakers or ballet flats.

For everyday errands, the Eileen Relaxed Button-Up Shirt in Italian Flannel is perfect for topping off your favorite blue jeans. I’m already a big fan of the Eileen button-up. I have it in the stonewashed denim, white linen, and black featherweight cotton, so I figured I should round out my collection with one of their Italian Flannels. I think this Green and Yellow with Red Plaid is so fun for the season

These shirts have a relaxed fit that looks great on every body type, with the Frank & Eileen signature button placement that enhances the bust and never gapes. The shirttail hem provides just the right amount of coverage, making it perfect for layering or wearing on its own.

I styled the flannel button-up with my Derry F&E Signature Jeans in the 2001 Wash. These jeans are the perfect mix of relaxed and refined. They have a high-rise fit, a straight leg silhouette, and a versatile medium wash, with just the right amount of stretch to provide both comfort and structure.

Pairing jeans with a plaid flannel shirt creates a laid-back, rugged vibe, so I wore brown ballet flats for a polished touch to balance the look.

Another new style to the Frank & Eileen lineup is this Montecito Sweater. This timeless pullover is made from luxuriously soft Italian cotton; and I like how the exaggerated crew neck and continuous seam sleeves give it a fresh, modern feel. Plus, the relaxed fit makes it perfect for layering.

I first styled it with the Derry F&E Signature Jeans and black loafers, for a simple look that is very much my style.

While I love a simple outfit, I was inspired by some of the layered looks on the Frank & Eileen website, so I went to my closet to see what I could pull together. I decided on my Eileen denim button-up and Derry Pull-On Jeans in the Antique White. I love this color combination for fall and winter — classic, yet somewhat unexpected for this time of year.

I was afraid layering this chunky cotton sweater over the relaxed button-up would feel bulky and awkward, but it’s actually quite comfortable, and I love the added interest (not to mention warmth) that layering like this offers.

The Derry Illusion Pull-On Jeans are similar to the Derry F&E Signature Jeans, but they’re a pull-on style, which is so sleek and comfortable. They’re designed to sit at your natural waist and gently curve over your hips, with a straight leg fit and cropped length.

Now I’m inspired to try out some other layered looks. I hope you are too! And as I always say, when you purchase from Frank & Eileen, you can feel good about supporting a woman-owned business that’s committed to sustainability and ethical manufacturing practices. Their garments may cost a little more than the brands I typically feature, but I like knowing that they’re responsibly sourced and made in factories where employees are treated well and earn a living wage.

  1. I love all of these looks, especially the sweatshirt dress and the layered look! I think I’ll try that layered look!

  2. I like all the outfits but the white pants. Call me old fashioned but I don’t wear white jeans or pants in winter. Since we have such a long summer that goes into fall I get tired of what I perceived to be summer clothes. I’m ready to wear my fall colors. It’s also the time I start wearing my regular jeans again. The black dress outfit is so cute on you.

  3. I love that black dress but for that price, it better be perfect! How much does it cling to the lumps and bumps? Just wondering if it is worth it or should I look for a different sweater dress this season.

  4. I loved all the looks today, even the white jeans in another season. I have quite a few F&E tops, but have not bought any bottoms. My question is this: The jeans shown seem quite slim with raw hem. Are these two things trending? Thanks

    1. They’re really more of an off white, although I will also wear stark white jeans in the winter, but I make them look intentional with the pieces I pair them with. I feel like these pants are more of a softer shade of beige.

As far as slim and raw him trending, I feel like it’s a classic look at this point.

  5. Love that dress! Can you tell me how it fits? Hard to tell exactly in black. I bought the short sleeve polo dress you featured last summer in medium and it was a bit big but after washing/drying it was good. I’m not sure if I should get small or medium. If you could tell me how it compares to that one in fit it would be very helpful. I’m 5’6″ 142 lbs, hourglass.
Thanks for guiding us on all things fashion!

  6. I enjoy seeing outfits from Frank and Eileen. I just love their back-story and their company philosophy. I recommend getting on their website, click on “Learn” and read about them. Jo-Lynne, how do you compare the Montecito sweater to the Jenni Kane cotton sweaters? I only have two button-down cotton shirts from F & E so far, would love to try triple fleece at some point. I also loved looking through their holiday shoppe because I adore plaids!! I will wear “antique” or off-white jeans/pants in the winter especially with navy blue, red and tartan plaids and denim shirts. The plaid flannel shirt you choose is gorgeous!

  7. Hi Jo-Lynne

I love the off white jeans. The outfit is terrific and well put together.

What do you suggest wearing with stark white jeans during winter months?

    Thank you .

  8. Your hair looks greats! it doesn’t look that color when you do your instastories so I was surprised! I actually like the laid look and i may have to try it myself.

  9. I will be wearing a version of your layered look on Monday. Cream pants/chambray shirt/ black sweater & loafers. Chelsea boots if we have snow. ☃️
It seems so effortless, but with a nice twist! Thanks for sharing Frank & Eileen – looking forward to learning more about them!
