I love a sweater tank this time of year because it’s such an easy way to add a polished touch to a spring outfit. It works well on its own once the weather starts warming up, but it also layers nicely with lightweight pieces for those cooler mornings and evenings.

Today I’m styling this 100% Organic Cotton Waffle Cropped Sweater Tank from Quince. I have it in Heather Dove Grey, which reads more like a soft pale blue with a subtle grey undertone. I love the waffle stitch texture, the breathable cotton knit, and the bra-friendly straps.
For this post, I styled it two ways—first with denim for a slightly more grounded, casual look, and then with linen for something softer and a little more polished. I also added two simple layering options to the linen look to show how easily the same base outfit can shift with just a few small changes.
Look 1: Sweater Vest + Washed Black Wide-Leg Jeans
For this first look, I paired the sweater tank with washed black wide-leg jeans. Black denim may not be the first thing you think of for spring or summer, but I really like the contrast of the soft pale blue against the faded black wash. It gives the outfit a slightly more grounded, modern feel while still keeping it light and fresh.

I think the washed black is key here—an inky, true black wouldn’t have quite the same effect. The faded wash feels a little more casual and slightly edgy, creating a softer contrast against the more polished knit.
I finished the look with a woven leather bag and leather slide sandals with an interlocking strap in a classic cognac shade, which adds a warm contrast and helps balance the cooler blue and black tones.

Look 2: Sweater Vest + Linen Pants
For this second look, I paired the sweater tank with Quince’s 100% European Linen Patch Pocket Wide Leg Pants in Flax for a softer, more polished spring feel. The light linen keeps everything fresh and tonal, and it pairs beautifully with the pale blue.

I also added an ivory cable knit sweater over the shoulders for extra texture and a classic, slightly preppy feel.

Alternative Layer: Matching Linen Jacket
Another option is to add the matching linen jacket, which gives the outfit a more polished, pulled-together feel while still keeping it light and easy for spring.

I love a matching set because it always feels elevated, but the linen keeps it relaxed and not too structured.

A Few More Quince Favorites for Spring & Summer
I also wanted to share a few other Quince pieces I’ve been loving lately. I wore the European Linen Scoop Neck Midi Dress to dinner in St. Lucia, and I can’t wait to wear it again this summer now that it’s finally warming up here. It’s one of those easy dresses you can dress up or down with shoes and accessories.

And the Linen Sleeveless Swing Dress is another great everyday option. It has that same breathable linen feel, but the relaxed silhouette makes it especially easy for casual summer days, errands, or vacation.

I’ve also been really impressed with their jewelry—simple, classic pieces that work well for everyday wear. This Croissant Ring is such a nice right-hand ring in gold vermeil (sterling silver layered with a thick layer of 18k gold). It adds a little interest while still feeling classic and easy enough for everyday wear.

And the Globe Boho Hoops are another favorite. They’re super lightweight, but the chunky silhouette and high-polished finish give them just enough presence to add an easy polished touch to an outfit. I wore them a ton on my trips this spring—even to the beach and pool—and they held up beautifully.
If you’re looking to build out a spring and summer wardrobe with easy-to-style, versatile pieces, Quince has some really great options. From lightweight linen to polished knits and simple everyday jewelry, they have so many staples that work well for real life.

Good morning! I have the tank which I purchased after you styled it in a vacation post in April (or March?) I love it but haven’t worn it yet due to the wacky spring weather in Cleveland. I’m planning to wear it as we travel to Tampa tomorrow along with Quince linen pants (the ones with the belt loops), and a lightweight denim jacket. I’ve really found Quince to have well made, stylish clothing in my price range. Thank you for featuring this today!! Timely! I’d love to see other ways to style linen pants as I find not everything in my closet works with this type of pants (wide leg linen too) Have a safe and blessed Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸❤️
Would you wear the linen swing dress to a wedding reception in Augur? I’ve tried 10 dresses from different brands and haven’t found the one! Everything is geared more to wedding party. The bride wants everyone to feel their best, not necessary to wear a formal gown. I appreciate your advice. Thanks!!
I meant the midi dress 🙄 (August reception)
Sure, I would wear that one, maybe not the swing dress.
Thanks! It looks dressy enough for a reception, the wedding was in March.
That dove gray is a fantastic color on you and both outfits are very chic! I tried this tank in the brown they had, but it was a grayed out brown and did nothing for me. I may try the big sur green, hoping it is warm toned enough…
What size did you get in the linen jacket in flax? I have the pants already the first time you posted but might get the matching jacket.
It’s a medium.
One of my daughters introduced me to Quince a few years ago and I agree, they have great quality and fit my style. I wear the Bella stretch wide leg jeans on repeat. They are so flattering & comfortable. I’m very petite but my husband said they look great & my daughter, a clothing buyer for another company, told me my bum “looks great!” in them. I just received the Water Repellant Jacket yesterday & I know I’m going to get so much wear out of it. I hate carrying an umbrella & it has a hood. I got the tofu color so it will go with everything.
Just realized last week that Quince sells electrolytes too. Good ingredients, good price point.
