Jeans and Sweater Weather

Now that jeans and sweater weather is here, I’m in my element when it comes to getting dressed every day, and I’ve actually been finding lots of great fall wardrobe pieces at Zappos.

That’s right, Zappos has so much more than just shoes. With brands like AG, DL1961Sanctuary, Madewell, Free People, and Splendid, Zappos is a one stop shop for all your wardrobe needs.

Free People Theo V-Neck // DL1961 Patti Straight High-Rise Vintage Ankle // Vince Camuto Rachey Mule // Tory Burch tote // similar Madewell necklace // Madewell earrings

This cropped v-neck sweater is perfect for pairing with all your high rise jeans this fall. It has a flattering rounded v-neck, and it’s super soft and comfortable against the skin, but the looser weave keeps you from overheating if you live in a warmer climate or just tend to be hot-natured.

I also love the exposed seaming details and the nubby texture of the knit. This sweater runs true to size, or you can size up for length and a more relaxed fit. It also comes in a festive spruce green.

These jeans are DL1961, one of the first premium denim brands I ever tried. I wore their Emma and Florence styles almost exclusively for years. This is the Patti, a high rise straight leg ankle style that’s very much on trend right now.

DL1961 jeans have great shape retention, and the fabric is very comfortable. These run a little big; I’m wearing my usual 28, but I think the 27 would be a better fit, so definitely size down if in between.

My Vince Camuto Rachey Mules are also available at Zappos, and they’re currently on sale. I love the snip toe and two-tone metal chain detail, and the ivory color is highly versatile. The green is really fun too.

My second outfit features a charcoal half zip pullover and a longer pair of slim straight leg jeans. I stuck with the same ivory mules, but I think I’d prefer an ankle boot with these jeans. A python print or a pop of color would be fun.

I’m loving all the varieties on sweater styles that are in this season. This half zip pullover in a versatile charcoal grey rib knit has patch pockets and a high-low hemline with side slits for interest. The 25″ length is easy to pair with all different rises, and I like the relaxed but not oversized fit. It’s true to size; I’m wearing the small, for reference.

I paired this sweater with the AG Mari, a slim straight leg jean with a 29″ inseam. I’m so glad to see longer denim lengths coming back in style. They visually elongate the line of the leg, and they pair well with longer sweaters. Here’s a similar wash that has better inventory.

Zappos also has a great selection of jewelry and accessories. I picked up these Madewell earrings for this post, and this is a similar Madewell necklace to the one I’m wearing.

This holiday season, Zappos is planning a bunch of Daily Deals, from 11/19 – 12/21, so you’ll definitely want to check that out.

Zappos also has fantastic 24/7 customer service and a 365-day return policy, and if you link your Amazon Prime membership, you get free upgraded shipping.

Don’t have an Amazon Prime account? No worries! Become a Zappos VIP member, and you will get free expedited shipping too.

And as always, military members, students, and teachers can get 10% off their Zappos orders — see their Student, Teacher & Military Promotion page for more details.

  1. How is the overall fit of the Mari? They look great and I desperately need longer denim for cold weather. Only hesitation is the 2% stretch– are they comfortable and still fitted in the thigh and upper leg?

    1. I love them. They’re the only full length jeans I’ve found so far that I like. I’m just undecided about sizing. Wearing the 29 here but they seem a little big in legs. Wore the 28 at home for a while but they’re snug in belly. But I’m struggling with menopausal bloat so maybe that’s all it is. My other pair is 28 – but I’ve put on a few pounds since last winter so they’re also feeling snug too.

  2. The longer jeans are hard to pair with booties. I find mules work too with lots of new jean styles, but our weather has turned and my mules need to go back to the back of the closet. 🙁 It’s too wet outside.

  3. Is the Madewell half-zip pullover itchy? Or hot?

I like it but wondering if it’s too warm of a material for north Texas.

  4. Both of those sweaters are so nice! Like you, I’m glad that longer length jeans are here now. Good luck with the ax throwing activity. I think I’ll stick to deer hunting.

  5. I guess it’s time to pull my sweaters out since it SNOWED on me walking this morning! Why does it seem that the hot sweaty weather morphs right into the bitter cold? I wish it would stay in between a bit longer, sigh. I love the FP sweater, but I almost always size down in that brand– this one is definitely TTS?

    1. Yes, I wouldn’t size down – especially with this length. And I agree! I like in between weather. We’re getting some decent in-between weather right now, but we’ve had some frigid cold. Too soon!

  6. Your hair looks beautiful. What is your hair care routine? I, too, am glad for full length jeans and these look great. Checking them out right now!

  7. I like that there are different lengths of jeans available now. The downside is that now I need MORE. Or maybe that’s an upside! I find myself buying clothing more and more often from Zappos. While they don’t always have the cheapest price, they often have the best inventory and customer service is great. And anyone who has a military ID can get 10% off every order! They also offer the same discount to teachers and students!

  8. I bought some DL1961 jeans years ago and loved them but haven’t been able to find another pair that fit just right. I didn’t realize they were available at Zappos! Would love to see some wider leg/bootcut ones from them. Xo Nipa
