Welcome back to 22 Days of Summer Fashion! It’s Day 6, and today I have a casual mom-about-town summer outfit for you! I picked up this LOFT Verano Linen Shirttail Tee a few weeks ago when I was at the mall shopping with a friend. Of course, it’s close to selling out (that seems to be the theme with this summer style collab!) so I figured I better post these pictures ASAP. Also, it is currently on sale for 40% off, bringing it down to $23!!!
I don’t usually wear florals, but this color palette really appealed to me. It’s such a pretty top to pair with white jeans or white shorts, and it makes a statement all on its own so it doesn’t need much in the way of accessorizing. I thought I might also like it with my light pink jeans, but it ended up looking like I wasn’t wearing pants, so I’m sticking with the white! Ha!
I’m wearing a medium in the top, and it is a bit big on me, but I know from experience that these linen tees tend to shrink. In fact, I have this top in red, and I have washed it and laid it flat to dry, and I had to iron it to bring it back to anywhere near its original size, so definitely size up if you’re in between sizes.
It’s got that shirttail hem so I did the front tuck. Otherwise, it’s too long with these cropped jeans and throws the proportion all off. I really do wish straight hemlines would come back in style! They’re hard to find.
I went with my white sandals but nude would work as well, or if I had an orange or coral pair, or even blush…those would all look nice with this!
Speaking of blush, I carried my Marc Jacobs crossbody bag in Pearl Blush. I thought it went beautifully with this outfit.
These distressed white jeans are on sale at Bloomingdales right now. I see them everywhere, now that I have them. They’re definitely a popular style. I tried on a bunch before I found a pair that wasn’t see-though, and I really like the amount of distressing they have and that there are no gaping holes. They are definitely low-rise, though, at 7.5 inches, so you have to be okay with that.
For jewelry, I wore my Silpada circle pendant, silver hoop earrings, and a chunky silver link bracelet. I wanted something that filled the neckline without overpowering the delicate pattern in the shirt. Also, my bag has silver hardware, so it made sense to wear silver jewelry.
Here’s a final look at the outfit. This is really just a basic floral top and white jeans with white sandals. Super easy, something I’d wear around town on a mild summer day or for a casual evening event. For a more traditional look, you can sub full length white skinny jeans like my favorite DL1961 Florence in Milk (also on sale at Bloomies right now!) Wedge sandals would also dress up this outfit and keep it more conservative.

I love the colors and they really look great on you!
This top is so pretty. I like the colors and the pattern. What a great, casual summery outfit! Are the sandals comfortable? I was wondering if the medallion was made out of metal or leather? It’s such a classy looking sandal. 🙂
These sandals are sooo comfy. For a flat sandal, they are my faves because of the medallion. It is leather, and it holds them to my foot so they don’t flop around. I had these white ones first – birthday gift from my mom a few summers ago. I bought the nude ones this year b/c I liked my white ones so much. If money grew on trees, I’d buy them in a fun color. 🙂
I ordered the Poppy color from Nordstrom because so many women say they are really comfortable. They are so cute, but with my stinkin’ narrow feet they just didn’t work. 🙁 I was so sad. They flopped all over my feet and the medallion hurt the top of my foot. BUMMER!!! Yours look darling!!!! and I’m jealous 😉
That IS a bummer!!!
They really are a great looking sandal!! I bet a dress up a casual outfit well and look so great with jeans and a tee. Which color do you find yourself wearing the most?
Nude, for sure.
Love the colors on this shirt, Jo-Lynne. I didn’t even register that it was a floral—I just see it as a print—maybe because the flowers are more hand drawn instead of perfect?
You say those flats are comfy—it doesn’t look like they have much support—is there cushion in the base? I have yet to buy a white pair of shoes (I confisgated a pair from my mom last year, but I don’t love them)—I keep wondering if they’ll be really useful.
There is absolutely no support. 🙂 That is why I said “for a flat sandal” – now that I’ve had foot issues, I always qualify that b/c I know that flat sandals are not good for our feet and some people simply can’t wear them. But as far as flat sandals go, there is a little bit of cushion, they sole is firm but flexible, and the leather medallion holds them on your foot so you’re not curling your toes when you walk, lol. I have thin, flat, feet so I usually have to have an ankle strap, but these work great for me.
love that top! cute outfit
I love this outfit on you. The colors in the top are so pretty, and perfect for summer. I’m crushing on your white cropped jeans. I agree that your blush bag looks perfect with this outfit. As for your sandals…… I absolutely love them! Btw.. your hair looks really cute curled.
You’re doing an amazing job with this summer series. Thanks for your inspiration!
Thanks so much, Julie!
I’m trying to find a good nail color for the summer. I really like your nail color that you have on your nails. Do you know the brand and color you used? Thank you!
Are you looking at fingers or toes? 🙂 The color on my toes was some sort of red/orange that I picked out at the nail salon, and I don’t have the name of it. The white on my fingernails is CND Studio White – it comes in both Shellac and their Vinylux that is long-wearing regular nail polish. http://amzn.to/1TVWkZG
Great outfit – and your hair is on point! Love it. And you have a nice tan already – I’m still sporting some seriously white skin! Jealous!
I have two words for you. Spray. Tan. 🙂
I’m getting this shirt. I love linen tees. 🙂
This outfit looks great on you! I love the floral top!
Love everything about this outfit! And you look great in the printed flower top. The colors are very flattering on you.
Love that top on you. Beautiful colors. Tell me about your watch. I am looking for a watch with a bigger face. Any suggestions. Don’t want to pay a fortune for it.
What’s a fortune? LOL. This one has been discontinued, and I bought a new one to replace it, but the battery ran out in like 3 mos. So annoying. I need to get it fixed, so I went back to this one. Both are in the $250 price range.
This one has a nice large face, and it’s 25% off: http://rstyle.me/n/br6445gthw
This one is a little more delicate, also on sale: http://rstyle.me/n/br647rgthw
This is the one I have: http://rstyle.me/n/bh2udsgthw
I like a mixed metal watch so I can wear it with both silver and gold jewelry. 🙂
You look beautiful! Those are great colors for you. Love your tan and you are looking so slim and trim! Thanks for all your hard work. I’m really enjoying your summer style!
I love how comfy that shirt feels/looks! Gorgeous with the white pants!
