LOFT Verano Linen Shirttail Tee
Welcome back to 22 Days of Summer Fashion! It’s Day 6, and today I have a casual mom-about-town summer outfit for you! I picked up this LOFT Verano Linen Shirttail Tee a few weeks ago when I was at the mall shopping with a friend. Of course, it’s close to selling out (that seems to be the theme with this summer style collab!) so I figured I better post these pictures ASAP. Also, it is currently on sale for 40% off, bringing it down to $23!!!
I don’t usually wear florals, but this color palette really appealed to me. It’s such a pretty top to pair with white jeans or white shorts, and it makes a statement all on its own so it doesn’t need much in the way of accessorizing. I thought I might also like it with my light pink jeans, but it ended up looking like I wasn’t wearing pants, so I’m sticking with the white! Ha!
I’m wearing a medium in the top, and it is a bit big on me, but I know from experience that these linen tees tend to shrink. In fact, I have this top in red, and I have washed it and laid it flat to dry, and I had to iron it to bring it back to anywhere near its original size, so definitely size up if you’re in between sizes.
It’s got that shirttail hem so I did the front tuck. Otherwise, it’s too long with these cropped jeans and throws the proportion all off. I really do wish straight hemlines would come back in style! They’re hard to find.
I went with my white sandals but nude would work as well, or if I had an orange or coral pair, or even blush…those would all look nice with this!
Speaking of blush, I carried my Marc Jacobs crossbody bag in Pearl Blush. I thought it went beautifully with this outfit.
These distressed white jeans are on sale at Bloomingdales right now. I see them everywhere, now that I have them. They’re definitely a popular style. I tried on a bunch before I found a pair that wasn’t see-though, and I really like the amount of distressing they have and that there are no gaping holes. They are definitely low-rise, though, at 7.5 inches, so you have to be okay with that.
For jewelry, I wore my Silpada circle pendant, silver hoop earrings, and a chunky silver link bracelet. I wanted something that filled the neckline without overpowering the delicate pattern in the shirt. Also, my bag has silver hardware, so it made sense to wear silver jewelry.
Here’s a final look at the outfit. This is really just a basic floral top and white jeans with white sandals. Super easy, something I’d wear around town on a mild summer day or for a casual evening event. For a more traditional look, you can sub full length white skinny jeans like my favorite DL1961 Florence in Milk (also on sale at Bloomies right now!) Wedge sandals would also dress up this outfit and keep it more conservative.
