New Beauty Products I’m Loving Right Now

Happy Saturday, friends! Today I’ve got a few new beauty product finds I want to share with you.

I’m going to have to cry Uncle when it comes to this week’s Try-On Haul. I do have some pictures from a couple weeks ago, and I have a bunch more things I want to try on and photograph, but I wasn’t able to get to it this week.

I did, however, shoot some pictures of my newest beauty finds, so I decided to share those with you today.

I mentioned a few weeks ago that I’ve been watching a lot of Angie’s YouTube videos, over at Hot & Flashy. Most of these products were her recommendations. If you’re looking for over-40 (she is actually over 50) beauty and makeup advice, I highly recommend checking her out.

Also, Ulta is running a sale right now — $10 off your $50 purchase with code HOLIDAY10, or $20 off your $100 purchase with code HOLIDAY20. Shipping is free over $35.

First up, this eye shadow palette — Tarte Tartlelette in Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette available at Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s, and QVC.

It has such a pretty assortment of neutral shimmers and mattes, and the palette is arranged in rows for three easy looks to mix and match. I find them easy to apply, and it’s hard to overdo it, yet they have a lot of pigment and great staying power.

Since using this palette, I’m always amazed by how good my eye shadow looks at the end of the day… especially when I wear the Fenty eye primer (see more below.)

I’ve also ordered some new eye shadow brushes for application — the BK Beauty 202 Defined Crease Brush and the IT Airbrush Precision Shadow Brush #112.

My next new purchase was the Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Amplifying Eye Primer, available at Sephora and Amazon, and I couldn’t be more happy with this primer!

The one I was using was discontinued, and I liked it, but sometimes it got kind of flaky on me. I ordered this on a whim, and it is really amazing. My eye shadow never creases when I’m wearing this eye primer, and it adheres so well.

I’ve also started using Essence Extreme Long Lasting Eyeliner in Black Midnight Sky, available at Ulta and CVS.

This eyeliner is less than $3 — no, I did not forget a numeral. It’s amazing — it goes on easily and stays all day, never smudging or transferring to my eyelid as so many eyeliners do. I’m a convert!

Finally, a new lipstick — Hourglass GIRL Lip Stylo in Activist, available at Sephora and Nordstrom.

This lip color has the intensity of a lipstick but it’s infused with a blend of hydration for the appearance of softer, fuller lips.

It feels very moist and fresh, and I could wear it alone, but old habits die hard, and I usually top it off with a lipgloss for some extra hydration and shine.

For that, I either use my Bobby Brown Crushed Oil-Infused Lip Gloss in Free Spirit or another new purchase — BUXOM Full-On Plumping Lip Cream in Dolly, which is available just about anywhere — Ulta, Sephora, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Walmart, and Amazon.

And I think that’s it! I can go years without trying new makeup, so this is a lot of new products for me, but it’s fun to change up the routine a bit. Maybe you’ll find something new in here to try. I’m sure we can all use a little pick-me-up these days.

  1. You are such a natural beauty. I enjoy your posts so much. As I get older I find I use minimal makeup. I just don’t have the patience for a lot of products. But it works for me. Lipstick by Hourglass is something I might try. Do you use lip liner?

  2. I just started using the Tartlette in bloom eyeshadow palette as well and the colors are beautiful not to mention that yummy smell!  It also stays on a lot longer than my previous shadow.
    Have a great weekend!

  3. I’ve decided to embrace the gray and have strong white and silver tones in my hair.  Blue eyes and still pretty defined brows – but thinning.  A brow color you recommend?

  4. Although I’m still wearing makeup as I work part time outside the home….I am not wearing as much because of the mask. I’ve been looking for a foundation that doesn’t rub off on my mask and recently switched from IT to Charlotte Tilbury and it seems to be staying on better. However I’m only wearing clear lip balm as seems like a waste to wear my lipstick and have to cover it up. But I am going to try the eye liner you recommend 😃

  5. That tartelette palette is so pretty!  I’m probably going to buy it as an early Christmas gift to myself (lol!).  FYI when I added it to my ulta cart I noticed they had a gorgeous set of brushes made by IT cosmetics for ulta.  They look like good quality plus have pretty metallic handles and a travel case!  Might be worth a try!
