New Years Eve Party Looks

Christmas is getting close, and of course New Year’s Eve is right behind it, so Cyndi Spivey and I are teaming up for one last style collab of 2021 to share some NYE fashion inspiration!

We almost always celebrate New Year’s Eve at home, either by hosting a small get-together with friends or attending one nearby. So while I tend to conjure up visions of sequins and glitter when I think of New Year’s Eve style, my actual NYE outfits are usually more subdued.

I’ve long been a fan of wearing bold colored pumps with a cozy sweater and jeans, and this look is perfect for casual parties this holiday season. I just received these gorgeous burgundy suede pumps from Evereve, and I love how they pop a neutral outfit.

This sweater is really soft and cozy, and I love the shaker knit with raglan shoulders and extra long sleeves. It runs true to size.

The washed black skinny jeans are the perfect complement to the oatmeal-colored sweater. Just add a metallic clutch and blingy earrings, and you’ve got a festive outfit that’s also warm and comfortable.

If you’re going out to diner, or your dress code is more formal, the same pumps look great with a black dress.

This dress is pretty simple. The knit is really soft and drapes nicely, and the tie at the waist adds interest and helps define the waist.

Here’s a close-up of those shoes. Aren’t they such a great color!? They’re the Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps that I’ve been wearing for years. I think I have them in at least five colors. They’re remarkably comfortable for pumps, and they run true to size.

I wore the same earrings and carried the same clutch as in the look above, and I added a sparkly beaded bracelet. Adding gold to a black and burgundy outfit really gives it that holiday vibe.

I pushed the sleeves up a little so they look more like 3/4 sleeves, which is generally more flattering and feminine than letting them extend to the wrist. It’s something about drawing the eye to the waist.

This dress can be dressed down for more casual venues, but I really love how this dressy NYE party look came together.

And for those who do like some glitter on NYE, here are a couple more outfits I’ve styled this season that would work well for a New Year’s Eve celebration.

And I’d love to know, what are your plans for NYE? Do you like to party, get together with a small group of friends or family, or stay in and watch the ball drop on TV? And if you say you’ll be turning in before midnight, I’ll never tell!

  1. I love all your NYE outfits They all look fabulous on you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. I look forward to your posts in the new year.

  2. Stunning outfits! Loving those burgundy pumps! I always love a bit of sparkle on NYE, no matter where I celebrate it!

  3. A neighbor just dropped off these same caramels this weekend! I have been resisting them but will have to try them now! Love the different outfits shown, especially the red pumps!

  4. Love these looks and those pumps are such a great color!
Every year we have gone to our friends New Years Eve party with up to 80-100 people! It’s family friendly so we’ve done it for years as a tradition! Unfortunately last year and this year indoor limits on gatherings will cancel it yet again! So this year will be just another smaller evening! We haven’t watched the ball drop in years so that might be on the agenda! We’ve had snow twice but hard to say if it will last for Christmas! Maybe some more coming between Christmas and New Years!

  5. Sanders was started in Detroit and those caramels are delicious, We purchase them at our nearby Costco store also. Not sure if all the stores carry them but it’s worth checking. Merry Christmas.

  6. All of your looks are great! Our style is super laid back because we are in our pj’s watching the ball drop on tv from the comfort of our home.

  7. We usually stay in and play games or watch a movie. Many times we’ve been known to turn in before midnight. LOL Love all the New Years outfits. I just love the black dress on you. Its a great style and fit. You look so pretty. Thanks for all you’ve done over this year to make our mornings more fun. Your emails are a welcome sight each morning…….like having coffee with a friend. Enjoy your last few days to prep for Christmas. What are your plans for Christmas Eve and Day?

  8. PS We have snow forecasted for Christmas Day and two days after. I sure hope we get some. We hardly ever get snow, much less a White Christmas (Northwest Oregon). I don’t have to worry about the kids/grands on the roads coming, as this year we have to have our Christmas on New Years weekend because of them going to the in-laws and work schedules. We usually do early Christmas, but that didn’t work out this year either. I really don’t like late Christmas, but it ends up just fine once we all gather. 🙂

  9. Merry Christmas! I love the black dress! So flattering and for me it could be a work dress with black booties.
Do you think Evereve will have after Christmas sales? I’ve noticed that store doesn’t do sales like other retailers do.

    1. They often do a 10% sale around big holidays. But no, they don’t so the level of sales other retailers do. They’re sale section has better reductions, when they are trying to move inventory.

  10. You look great in all outfits! I need those burgundy pumps if only I could walk in them. I have a black dress almost identical that I got from Lands End many years ago and still love it as it spans the seasons.

  11. I like both of the outfits with the burgundy heels. Wow! They really make the outfits something extra.

I loved your hair in the metallic sweater outfit!

  12. Love how the sleeveless dress looks. I always get too hot at indoor winter events. This is a great way to look snazzy while staying cool.

  13. Every year my mom, daughter and I get new pjs and watch the ball, play games and eat snacks. hopefully this year I will be the uno champ my dad wins or mom win most years
