MY THOUGHTS: I liked my Jules in the Atlin wash so much that I decided to try this ecru version. Ecru denim has been around for a few seasons, but this year it finally feels like it’s hitting its stride. I love the softness of the color, especially styled in low-contrast outfits with brown or black accessories.

I’m still figuring out how to work it into my wardrobe, but these are a really strong option if you’re looking for a slim straight leg pair. The fit is flattering, and they’re soft and comfortable right out of the box.

Fit note: Size down, these seem to run big, and they do stretch some with wear.

VERDICT: Keeping, I wore this outfit to church on Sunday, with a black jacket on top.

Madewell The Remy Mary Jane Flat in True Black

MY THOUGHTS: I love this Mary Jane. I have them in the brown haircalf from last fall and liked them so much that I picked up this black pair, too. The narrow topline and silver grommets along the strap give them a subtle edge, and the perforated leather keeps the black feeling lighter for spring and summer.

They’re also surprisingly comfortable—definitely an easy, wear-all-day option.

VERDICT: Keeping, I’ve already worn them once!

LOFT Versa V-Neck Cardigan Top

MY THOUGHTS: This fitted button-up has a really nice ribbed texture and a flattering shape, with a v-neck in both the front and back. The sleeves run extra long, which I actually don’t mind—it gives it a slightly elevated feel.

It’s also the perfect length for wearing untucked with higher-rise jeans or pants, which I always appreciate.

VERDICT: The only reason I’m not keeping this is it is so similar to the bobi ribbed button-up top I already have. Otherwise, it would totally be in my closet right now.

Aritzia The Esquire Trench Coat City Twill in Wicker Tan

PRODUCT DETAILS: This is a double-breasted trench coat with welt hand pockets and a classic fit. It’s expertly tailored from City Twill — slick, water-repellent cotton twill with a smooth yet soft feel.

MY THOUGHTS: This cropped trench is a beautiful piece, and the quality really stands out. I love the split storm flap in the back and the clean, set-in shoulders with no epaulettes, which I personally prefer since they can add bulk and make my shoulders look higher (not ideal with a shorter neck).

I also appreciate that the water-repellent cotton twill feels soft and elevated. It doesn’t look or feel technical at all.

I tried a large in-store and it was way too big. I ordered a small based on my sizing in The Only Coat, but I actually need a medium.

VERDICT: Returned for now, but I’ll likely reorder in a medium. I don’t need it, but it’s a noticeable step up in quality from other options I have, and the water-resistant fabric makes it a smart investment.

Sold Out NYC The Favorite Crew in Navy & Cream Stripe

MY THOUGHTS: Sold Out NYC is a new-to-me brand that focuses on high-quality, modern classics with that elevated basics vibe. They offered to send me an item of my choice, and I went with this 100% cotton striped sweater. I’m also curious to try their Iconically Soft Perfect Tee and Linen Perfect Tee.

This sweater looks and feels extremely high quality, and while the design is fairly simple, the details really stand out in person. The fit is especially good—it sits just right without being too fitted or too relaxed, and it’s the perfect modern length for wearing untucked.

The price point is definitely up there, but the quality is there to match.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, for sure. The challenge for me is styling it in a way that feels fresh and not too safe or preppy.

MOTHER The Rambler Zip Ankle Jeans in Fairest Of Them All

MY THOUGHTS: I love the fit and feel of these white jeans. The fabric is thick yet soft, and they have an easy straight-leg silhouette with a clean hem that hits right at the ankle on me.

They’re slightly see-through in that you can faintly see the front pockets, but not to the point that it bothers me. Overall, they feel like a really nice, classic pair, and they’re on sale right now at Bloomingdale’s.

Fit tip: Size up. I needed the 31 in these.

VERDICT: I originally found these at Anthropologie during a sale, but had to return them because they arrived with a stain on the leg.

That said, I also picked up a similar pair from PAIGE at EVEREVE that I really like, and I don’t need both, but I’m curious to compare so I just reordered them from Bloomingdale’s.

Dolce Vita Mikel Ballet Flats in Camel Perforated Suede

MY THOUGHTS: Another really good option for a modern Mary Jane flat, this pair from Dolce Vita is also very comfortable, and I love the perforated suede. The silver hardware on the buckle is a fun touch (the cream and light brown versions have gold hardware), and the light camel color feels fresh for spring.

Style note: They’re a warmer tone than I usually wear, so I’ve found it a bit tricky to pair with handbags. They work especially well with my Clare V. woven leather belt bag in the Oat Multi and the MAISON de SABRÉ Bucket Soft Tote in Saharan Fuchsia.

VERDICT: Keeping. I’ve already worn these quite a bit.

Margaux The Flat Sandal in Saddle Nappa

MY THOUGHTS: I’ve had my eye on these sandals for a few years but was never quite ready to take the plunge, so when Margaux offered to send me a pair from their spring/summer collection, I jumped at the chance.

They are absolutely gorgeous and a classic style you can wear for years. Even though they’re a “barely there” design, they offer a surprising amount of comfort thanks to the cushioned insole and thoughtfully placed straps.

I love the contrast stitching, and they have that minimalist, European feel that works just as well with dresses as it does with jeans or trousers. They also come in narrow and wide widths, which is a great option if you need it.

VERDICT: Keeping!

Naadam Lightweight Cashmere Short Sleeve V-Neck Sweater in Navy

MY THOUGHTS: This is a beautiful sweater in a super soft, lightweight cashmere that should work well even into the warmer months. The v-neck and sleeve length is quite flattering, and it comes in a few colors, but I especially love the classic navy paired with white denim and brown sandals.

I also tried styling it with this J.Crew silk bandana scarf—not my usual look, but I think it’s really cute.

VERDICT: This sweater runs quite small. The medium feels snug on me, and I would have preferred a more relaxed fit. I’m planning to hold onto it for now and see how it works into my existing wardrobe.

Signature Cashmere Cropped Zip Up Hoodie in Timber

MY THOUGHTS: Another really lovely cashmere piece from Naadam. I like the shorter length and the way it drapes slightly longer in the back than the front—it gives it a nice, modern shape.

VERDICT: Keeping. This will be a nice transitional piece while our spring weather is still chilly in Philadelphia, and I can see myself reaching for it again in the fall as well.

J.Crew Slim-wide jean in White Denim

MY THOUGHTS: This is a really nice option if you’re looking for a slim wide-leg style that hits right at the ankle. The denim is super soft and comfortable, and I like the size and placement of the rear pockets.

I find them very flattering—they’re just a bit wider than the MOTHER Rambler and come in a softer shade of white.

VERDICT: Keeping. I’ve already worn them once. They’re a great mid-priced alternative to the MOTHER Rambler or the PAIGE Mason.

J. Crew Patch-pocket denim trouser in White Denim

MY THOUGHTS: These are a nice option for white jeans—just a touch too long for me to wear with flats, but perfect with a bit of a heel.

The fabric is thick but soft, and they have a flattering fit for a wide-leg style. The rear pockets are definitely on the larger side, but they offer a bit more coverage in the back, which I actually appreciate in white denim. This pair is not see-through at all, which is a big plus.

VERDICT: Keeping for now. I want to see how they work into my wardrobe, but I think they’ll be great for dinners out or church on Sundays.

PAIGE Tatum 32 Inch Wide Leg Jean in Crisp White

WHBM V-Neck Tee with Epaulets in Savvy Stripe Black

MY THOUGHTS: This is a fun top for spring and summer in a classic black-and-white stripe. The cotton/modal slub fabric is really nice. It’s slightly heavier than typical slub, so it has a bit more structure and isn’t see-through or clingy. It also holds its shape nicely through the waist.

I love the shoulder detail and the cut of the v-neck and arm openings—they’re super flattering. It’s easy to layer or wear on its own.

Style tip: The length runs a bit longer than what’s trending right now, so I find it looks best with a front tuck to keep the proportions balanced.

VERDICT: Keeping this one, for sure!

Nation Los Angeles Kacy Tank in Navy City Stripe

PRODUCT DETAILS: Soft, easy, considered. Kacy features a keyhole neckline with a tie detail—perfect tucked into jeans or layered under a cardigan.

MY THOUGHTS: This is another really cute striped top. The fabric is soft, and the fit is flattering, with just enough shape through the waist. At 23″ long, it works well worn untucked or with a front tuck.

The only issue for me is the keyhole neckline—it shows more cleavage than I’m comfortable with.

VERDICT: Passing on this one. If you’re smaller-busted, this could work really well for you, but for me, that detail is a dealbreaker. It’s a cute top otherwise.

Nation Los Angeles Laurence Baby Tee in White

VERDICT: Keeping for now. It runs a bit snug on me, so I want to see how it layers with the jackets in my spring wardrobe.

MY THOUGHTS: This is another great option for a 100% cotton crewneck tee with a nice weight. The wider trim at the neckline is a nice detail, and the fit is really good overall. I especially like that the sleeves fit a bit closer to the arms—it gives it a slightly more polished feel.

VERDICT: This one feels a bit easier to wear than the Nation tee, but both are good quality and solid options.

Nation LA Davina Tank in Optic White

MY THOUGHTS: This top is really cute, and I love the gold snap detail—it adds a nice elevated touch. That said, the cut is very straight through the armholes, and on me it ends up feeling a bit boxy.

As an aside, I love these Dolce Vita Galae Heels. They’re really cute and comfortable, and I think the jelly sandal trend is a fun one for spring and summer.

VERDICT: Passing. I don’t think this one will stay in my closet, but it’s a nice quality piece if the cut works for you.

WHBM Square Neck Sheath Dress

VERDICT: The fit is a bit snug on me in the 8, but I think the 10 might be too long through the torso—so I may try a petite. It’s 30% off right now, which makes it a really good buy, and it also comes in fuchsia and black.

Mavi Paloma Mid Rise Wide Leg

MY THOUGHTS: This is a nice option for a mid-priced pair of slim wide-leg jeans. The fabric has good structure, and I really like this wash—it feels versatile and easy to dress up or down.

The fit is flattering through the hips with a relaxed leg, and the mid-rise is a nice alternative if you don’t always want something super high-waisted.

VERDICT: Keeping for now. These feel like a solid everyday option, and I want to see how they compare to some of my other wide-leg styles before deciding.

Quince 100% European Linen Sleeveless Swing Dress

It’s the kind of piece you can throw on and go, and it would be especially great for vacation.

VERDICT: Keeping! I brought it with me to Florida, so I’m hoping to get some wear out of it while I’m here.

PAIGE Vesta Top

VERDICT: Definitely keeping this one!

WHBM V-neck Knit Tank

MY THOUGHTS: This sweater has a similar vibe to the PAIGE Vesta, but with a v-neck instead of the collar. It has some really pretty knit details down the center front that are a bit hard to see in these photos, but you can get a better look online.

It’s also 30% off right now, which makes it a really good buy.

VERDICT: Also keeping. Since both were gifted, I’m holding onto both for now, although I probably only need one since they’re similar. That said, I do think I’ll find ways to wear both—I love having a black sleeveless sweater in my summer wardrobe for dinners out.

East Coast Hoodie

Hyacinth House Aqua Linen Beaded Dottie Mini Dress

MY THOUGHTS: This dress is very short—but otherwise, it’s a really gorgeous piece. The quality is evident, and it fits beautifully through the body. The beaded detail adds such a fun, elevated touch.

I just wish it were a few inches longer—about 3–4 inches would make all the difference for me.

VERDICT: I don’t see myself wearing it, but it really is a beautiful dress.
