The Cutest Ruffle Sleeve Tee + The Best St. Paddy’s Day Sales
Hello, friends! Happy St. Paddy’s Day! I wish I’d been clever enough to shoot an outfit featuring some festive green for today, but alas, it didn’t occur to me until it was too late. I should have saved this one. It’s the perfect St. Paddy’s Day outfit, as it even incorporates some orange for us Protestants. (I like to cover all the bases, haha!)
So it’s day 15 of my 27 Days of Spring Fashion style series, and I have a casual spring outfit featuring this popular ruffle sleeve tee. Then at the end of this post, I’m rounding up some good weekend sales you don’t want to miss (including 30% off Tory Burch Miller sandals and Minnie travel flats and 25% off premium denim) so definitely scroll down for that!
The day we took these pictures, it was about 20 degrees with gusty winds. We jumped out of the car and literally ran across the parking lot to this wall. Paul set the camera and started snapping pictures as fast as he could, and we were back in the car in less than three minutes. It was almost comical. All that to say, the pictures today aren’t exactly our best work, but they get the job done.
This outfit is super simple, I know, but I personally think those are the best kinds! I’ve already featured this ruffle sleeve tee a couple of times. I included it in my last 5 Under $50 post and in last week’s Instagram roundup. It’s only $35, and it comes in this gorgeous red as well as white and black.
This top runs small, so I am actually wearing the large. I also had a medium, but I felt like it was a little snug across the chest and in the arms along the seam where the ruffles attach. If it shrinks at all, it would be a problem, so I kept the large. It is a little bit roomy, but I don’t mind. I like that it is shaped through the waist, and the length is perfect for me. I don’t need to front-tuck it to keep the outfit in balance.
I planned to style this top with my grey jeans for this post, but they were out being hemmed when we shot this look. I also debated wearing white jeans. This red will be fabulous with them, for sure, but I do a lot with white jeans this time of year, and I always like the combination of red with blue jeans. It’s nice to know I have lots of options for this top once the weather warms up a bit!
It’s driving me nuts the way my jeans were bagging out in the knees! After I saw these pictures, I threw them in the wash. They’re 98% cotton, and I’ve noticed them doing that in the knees after I’ve worn them for a while. I try not to wash my jeans too often, but when they start to look like this, it’s time.
That said, I love these jeans. They’re AG, so definitely spendy, but they are so comfortable, and I love the wash and the raw hem. So many raw hem jeans look funny to me, but AG does it right. They are also included in Bloomingdale’s Denim Days promotion — take 15% off one denim product and 25% off 2 or more.
I love the price point on these shoes and how they have the lace-up look without having to actually tie the laces. They’re easy to pull off and on, and they are very comfortable too.
Since I wore pewter shoes and carried a grey bag, I accessorized with silver jewelry. This necklace is old, and I haven’t seen anything quite like it in a while. I like how long it is, and that it has several charms rather than one big pendant. It just seems more casual and easy to wear, and you don’t have to worry about it turning around backward or anything. If you find something similar I can link to, let me know!
I love this casual outfit for early spring. It’s as easy to throw on as any t-shirt and jeans, but the ruffle sleeves lend a flirty, femininity to the otherwise basic outfit.
