What I Wore In Destin
I’m taking a break from winter outfits today to share what I wore while I was in Destin – Fort Walton Beach last weekend.
It wasn’t exactly warm, but it was too warm for turtlenecks and boots, so I brought some of my spring clothes along. Even though I’m wearing a winter capsule wardrobe for a month, I’ve picked up a couple of things in anticipation of spring, so I was excited to break them out of hibernation!
This is what I wore on the trip down, and this outfit actually IS part of my winter capsule. The oatmeal sweater is lightweight, so it’s the perfect transition piece. I actually got it last spring at J.Jill, so it’s more of a spring sweater than a winter one. I wore my red wool peacoat on the plane because it was sooo cold when I left Philly, but I was able to pack it in my suitcase on the way home so I didn’t have to lug it back.
On Saturday, we hung out at the beach house for several brainstorming/mastermind sessions. What I love about this group of women is that everyone got a chance to talk. We were fairly organized with our sessions, and we went around the circle sharing our challenges and getting help and advice from everyone else in the group. Of course, we got off topic at times, but there was always someone to reign us back in and make sure that everyone got a chance to share or ask advice or whatever the purpose was for that session. All of the bloggers who were on the trip are serious about their businesses, but we all have different focuses, different knowledge areas, and different challenges. It made for a very fruitful weekend.
For our mastermind sessions on Saturday, I dressed casually in a baseball tee (it came in a LeTote, and I bought it because I couldn’t bear to part with it) and my ripped black jeans and Converse. Before we got started that morning, I talked Amy into take some pictures of me in front of the bright blue siding of the beach house. The lighting was perfect, and the pictures came out really cute.

That night we went out to dinner, so I changed into a coral V-neck sweater and heels. Then I found out we’d be walking along the boardwalk for a while, so I changed into leopard flats and a grey crossbody, but I got some pictures in the dressier outfit first.

On Sunday, we had a morning session and then went to lunch at a cute bistro. I wore my new grey 3/4 sleeve top from LOFT and cropped skinny jeans. I love this top. It’s definitely going to be on repeat this spring!
Here’s another view. I took this top-down selfie for Instagram.

We went out to dinner Sunday night, and I changed again. I didn’t get any pictures, but I wore the outfit again yesterday and took a few mirror selfies. I added my new white faux leather moto jacket because it was such a mild day.
I want to give a shout out for this jacket. It is faux leather, which I am typically not a fan of, but it’s super soft and really cute on, and the price is right at $145! It comes in black too. One of these days, I’ll get around to cleaning my mirror. Ha!

I didn’t get any pictures of my travel outfit home except for this top-down selfie.
Phew! That was a long one.
It’s good to be home, but re-entry is always a bit rocky. I got a nice 4-mile run in yesterday, which is a good thing because it’s rainy and icky outside today. I have a workout appointment at noon, which is good for getting those endorphins flowing, but it also kind of stinks because that means I can’t really get dressed until the afternoon. Oh, well. You gotta fit it in where you can, right??
One more thing before I let you go. I just started using Snapchat. It’s not just for teenagers!! If you’re on Snapchat, or looking to connect with other moms in a more casual way, give it a try! I’m @jolynneshane if you want to look me up.
