What I Wore Lately Vol. 50

Greetings, and happy hump day! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately, a roundup of my “real life” outfits from the past week.

It seems like spring has finally sprung here in Philly, and I’m so happy to finally be wearing all the spring clothes that have been beckoning me from inside my closet for the past two months.

What I Wore Lately

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and 135 pounds, with an hourglass shape. Unless I say otherwise, I’m wearing a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, a 6 in dresses/jumpsuits, and size 8 shoe.

This first outfit is one I wore last Wednesday to run some errands. Unfortunately, the snap trim tank I’m wearing sold out at Evereve, and I can’t find it anywhere else.

I recommend sizing down in these cargo joggers. And yes, the price tag is a bit steep; but on a cost per wear basis, it has worked out okay for me. (I also snagged mine while on sale.) I rounded up some other options at various price points in yesterday’s post.

I had friends over that night for sushi takeout, and I can’t remember why I changed, but I did.

Oh, yes! I had a photo shoot the next day — in which I needed to wear the cargo joggers. I didn’t want to risk getting dinner on them. I also didn’t want to wear a denim jacket inside all night, and the tank would be too cold, so I did an entire outfit overhaul.

I believe I also tried on some new clothes that came in the mail — this white top being one of them. So I kept it on and threw on my favorite Mother Insiders. They’re my most comfortable jeans at the moment… so soft, and they seem to run a tad bigger than the rest of my size 28s. I’ve been on the struggle bus with my weight lately, so these are the ones I keep reaching for.

As I said, I had a photo shoot the next day… thus the heavy eye makeup here. I came back home and threw on this hoodie and cropped jeans. It was a chilly day, but I still wore sandals, I don’t know why. I guess because I was just going to be around the house. Sneakers would have made more sense.

Here are a few more shots. This hoodie came from Evereve in a Trendsend box (I wanted to try the service) and I love it. It is soooooo soft and thick and comfy. I also like the cropped styling and wide waistband. It makes it a little more chic than your typical slouchy hoodie.

It’s a bit spendy, but it just went on sale! I’d say it is definitely worth the sale price.

The next day was Friday, and my parents were here for a visit. We drove out to Lancaster County for the day, and I wore this familiar outfit.

Nothing new here, really, but this sweater is on super markdown. It’s TTS; I have the small. It also washes up well and holds it shape; I wash it on delicate and lay it flat to dry.

The next day was Saturday, and we went the opposite direction, and took my parents into Philly. We did the Constitution Walking Tour — I highly recommend it if you’re ever in Philly.

For some reason, we didn’t get a single picture with me in it. I have one of my parents and Paul and R (the other kids had to work) and a couple of Paul and R, but none with me. But I did grab a mirror selfie before we left, so I have proof of my outfit.

My Marrakech bomber jacket is restocked and on sale — still spendy, but every bit helps. It’s a really nice quality, and I love it.

I wore my teal turtleneck tee and black skinny pants to church on Sunday. This sweater is currently half off; it’s really nice for this in-between weather we’ve been having.

Unfortunately, my pants are low inventory. The Spanx skinny pants are similar, but these are a little less legging-ish, which I felt were more appropriate for church.

That afternoon, we said good-bye to my parents, and I changed into jeans and a sweater and sneakers to host some friends for snacks and games that evening.

That brings us to Monday — I dressed in joggers with a t-shirt and denim jacket to take my daughter to an appointment.

And yesterday, I had a dentist appointment. Good times! I wore my comfy Mother Insiders with a white tee and the black utility jacket. It’s very lightweight, which is good b/c it got hot yesterday!

When I got back home, I ditched the jacket and swapped the espadrilles for my favorite Dolce Vita sandals, so I was basically wearing the same outfit I wore to Sanibel Island when we were in Florida. Seriously, I’d wear this every day if I could.

This tee is so good, and I’m bummed that it’s selling out. I can’t seem to find it anywhere in the white, but I did find grey and black on the ATM website.

And that’s all I’ve got for today! I’m off to take my other daughter to an appointment… it never ends! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

  1. I always enjoy these posts. Received my Dolce Vita sandals and I love them! I occasionally have a flareup of plantar fasciitis so I’m cautious with flat sandals but these are fine. I wouldn’t walk 10 miles in them, but they will be great for going out to eat or attending an outdoor concert.

    1. Colleen……Did you size up 1/2 size in the Dolce Vita sandals? I believe it was recommended by Jo-Lynne and the site and I had to, as my usual size 7 was gone by the time I decided to order them. They are so cute. Can’t wait to receive them and they will go with everything. I too was delaying buying them for the flat, not so cushioned sole. Good to hear they are okay for you too.

  2. Love the Everlane Bobo sweater. It looks so cute on you.
Tempted to order it but I’ve found their sweaters to be wide and boxy.
It does not look that way on you… so I’m curious about the fit.

  3. Love these post to see what you actually wear. So cute. I wish we were at the point we could have friends over inside. So far we just are doing that with our 3 grown adults and their kids. Oregon is going backwards and our governor is putting stricter mandates on this Friday for many of our counties. Back to no inside dining in some counties and less % in grocery stores etc. etc. We don’t eat inside yet anyways, so probably won’t change much for us. Just so glad the nice Summer weather is ahead of us to be able to be outside more. I so appreciate your post each morning. A breathe of fresh air. Like an old friend, but I’ve never met you. 🙂

    1. Love these posts too! Canada is going backwards and fast too. We can not travel from one region Of British Columbia to another. Would love to visit with friends. So glad you can. Restaurants are closed to dine in. Its take out or patio dining only. This too shall pass but boy, it sure is a marathon.

    2. That all seems so crazy. Are you not able to get any of the vaccines yet? I will admit, we haven’t always followed the “rules”. I do a lot of research, and we make our own risk assessments and do what we feel is most sensible. I definitely don’t want to spark a heated debate, so I try not to get into it here, but a lot of you sound like you are in pretty extreme lockdown situations, and I just have to wonder if it’s necessary. Hopefully your weather will get nicer soon so you have more flexibility.

  4. I’m thrilled that I will finally see replies again! I have definitely missed them. I do enjoy seeing what you wear. You looked so nice in what you wore to church last Sunday. So, I would really like to know how you go about clipping your hair up so that you feel presentable. I usually just put mine in a ponytail, so I’d like another option. Thank you!

    1. Glad they’e working again. I can’t deal with any more technical issues!

When my hair is up, it’s either a ponytail, or I use a pinch clip (jaw clip) and just twist it and clip it. Very old school. 🙂

  5. Would you please share how you tied your P448’s? I notice you tied your Veja’s in a regular bow. What is the on trend way to tie fashion sneakers?

      1. Thanks! Unfortunately me laces apparently are too long to tie that way. I tried it and they hung way too long and looked like elephant ears on the sides of my shoes.

        1. you can twist them and make them not quite that big, but I hear you – I always feel that way about mine. they usually settle down, or sometimes I tuck them into the shoe.
