What I Wore Lately Vol. 55

Happy hump day, friends! It’s time for another edition of What I Wore Lately. This is when I round up my daily outfits from the past week or two, and tell you a little about where I wore them and how they came together.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and around 137 pounds, with an hourglass shape. Unless I say otherwise, I’m wearing a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, a 6 in dresses/jumpsuits, and size 8 shoe.

What I Wore Lately

I wore this casual outfit to work from home on a Wednesday, and I believe I also took my daughter to a doctor appointment that day. This is my third summer wearing these cargo joggers, and they make a nice casual alternative to jeans. They run big, so I sized down to a 27. The snap detail tank is sold out, unfortunately.

snap detail tank (sold out) // Paige cargo joggers (size down; also at Saks & Shopbop; less $$ option here and here) // Marc Fisher slides (also at Nordstrom) // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets // R Minkoff hobo (also at Nordstrom & Bloomies)

The next day, I had a photo shoot with Alison and we shot all those white tees. I wore this simple look for the rest of the day.

ATM tee (size up) // AGOLDE Toni straight ankle jeans (also at Nordstrom; less $$ option) // Sam Edelman slides (size up; also at Zappos) // teardrop earrings // Victoria Emerson boho cuff

Friday was my standing mani/pedi appointment, so I wore jeans that were easy to roll up. These are also my softest, most comfy jeans. I absolutely love them, but the price tag is steep so I recommend buying on sale. I also love this tee, and it’s 30% off, but sizes are going fast. Size up, if ordering.

Everlane cap sleeve tee (size up) // Mother Insider crop flares (also at Shopbop) // Tory Burch Miller sandals (also at Nordstrom) // Lagos earrings // Victoria Emerson boho cuff // LV Neverfull MM

I wore this casual skirt and tank on Saturday. It was a hot day, and I ran some errands and worked from home.

Then on Sunday, we went to the first Sixers playoff game! We wouldn’t have been able to get to the game in time if we went to our church out here in the ‘burbs, so we drove into Philly and went to church down there. We had just enough time to buzz over to the stadium in time for the game to start.

I don’t usually wear such casual jeans to church, especially one that leans more formal like the one we attended, but I wanted to wear them to the game, so I figured they were okay with the blouse and sandals.

I changed into my Sixers t-shirt and sneakers in the car after church, and now the jeans make a lot more sense!

I was feeling lazy the next Monday, and I just wore joggers and a t-shirt. I went out for a long walk at some point in the day, thus the running sneakers.

Vuori performance hoodie (also at Nordstrom) // Vuori joggers (also at Nordstrom) // Splendid t-shirt (size up) // Brooks Ghost

I met a friend for lunch on Tuesday, and she wanted to eat outside. It was kind of overcast and chilly, so I was glad I brought along my denim jacket.

similar denim jacket // BR dolman top // Good American skinnies (less $$ option) // similar mules (suede option) // Yurman earrings // Stella & Dot bracelet

Wednesday was kind of overcast and humid, and I threw on this casual jean shorts and t-shirt after meeting with Alison to shoot some summer running looks.

These shorts are borderline for me, in that I feel like they look really young with the amount of distressing and exposed pocket, but they’re so comfortable for a denim short — soft and stretchy. I probably won’t wear them much beyond the house, but they’re great for casual days at home.

Old Navy tie dye tee // AE denim shorts in Medium Destroy (size up; have the 8 and could probably wear a 10) // Birk Mayari // Lagos earrings

And here is me keeping it real, lol. I wore this to go running last Thursday, and I totally meant to shower and fix myself up afterwards, but I got busy working, and before I knew it, it was time to make dinner. By then, I figured, what’s the point? So I took this picture and decided to own it. (I did shower before I got into my pajamas, just for the record.)

I have no picture from Friday or a record of what I was doing or wearing. All I know is, I had a workout appointment that morning because it’s on my calendar.

That brings us to last Saturday, when R and I went to the mall. I can’t believe this sweatshirt is still fully stocked. It’s so cute, and so cozy and comfy.

It was chilly and rainy, so I just threw my hair up in a clip. Someone asked what I do to my hair when it’s like this. I just twist it and stick one of those jaw clips in it, and let the ends flop over the clip.

Sunday was church, and it was still cold and rainy. I wanted to wear my taupe loafer mules with this for a softer look, but I was worried about raindrops staining the soft leather, so I opted for these black ones instead. They’re more of a glossy leather and hold up well to inclement weather.

And I’m realizing as I link everything up, that most of what I’m wearing here is sold out. Sorry about that!

BR cardigan in Brazilian Sand // Nordstrom Signature stripe tee (sold out) // Good American skinnies // Everlane loafer mules (sold out; similar) // R Minkoff hobo (also at Nordstrom & Bloomies) // Yurman earrings

After church, I changed into this cozy pullover and bluejeans. These AGOLDE jeans are softer and more comfortable than the Good American skinnies, and the pullover is one I’ve had for years. Amazingly, it’s still available! I spent some time reading on the couch, and then I went over to visit with friends for the evening.

Wildfox pullover (also on Amazon) // AGOLDE Toni straight ankle jeans (also at Nordstrom; less $$ option) // P448 sneakers (also at Evereve, but with a $5.95 footwear shipping charge) // Yurman earrings

There is no photo evidence from Monday. I spent the morning in my pajamas and the afternoon in my bathing suit with this dress overtop.

And yesterday, I had yet another photo shoot! I came home and swapped my dressy top for this lightweight pullover. I had this last year in the navy and white stripe and loved it, so when I saw they brought it back in this great shade of tan, I snagged it.

It’s definitely see-through, so I’ll wear a white cami underneath when I wear it out and about. I felt like it was fine for here at home.

Treasure & Bond stripe sweater // Mother Insider crop flares (also at Saks & Neiman’s; less $$ option; petite option) // Dolce Vita sandals // Lagos earrings // Lagos bracelets

And that’s a wrap! I keep thinking our weather is going to warm up for good, but it keeps teasing us. I guess at least that offers more variety for these posts. One of these days, I’ll be able to put my sweaters and sweatshirts in the back of my closet.

  1. Great variety in your outfits! I sometimes feel I’m wearing the same thing (cropped jeans and a striped or solid tee) every day. Loved the black tank and olive joggers and the muscle tank and striped skirt.

  2. I really like the Madewell button up top and the BP cardigan! It is fun seeing how you really dress when you and Alison are not doing a photo shoot. While we may have some cool mornings, the temp rises pretty fast, so my sweaters, sweatshirts, and long sleeve tops are not really getting any wear time now. I will wear a very lightweight long sleeve top to our bonfires just to help keep the pesky bugs off of my arms. Have a great day!

  3. I really love your outfits. You put together outfits like no one else. And, its just my style. I love simple! What is your style? Love your blog! Thank you!

    1. LOL, I have no idea. Basic white girl? Okay, so I googled that, and it seems that leggings and UGG boots are a requirement, so I guess that’s not me. Seriously, I feel like my style is so simple that I can’t understand why anyone cares about what I wear, but I do like clothes and putting outfits together so I guess there’s something to it. So thank you! 🙂 I am flattered to hear that.

      1. When we see your post it looks put together and effortless, so I think it gives others the idea they too can do it too. I know you work hard to put each one together and make sure it WORKS. We learn from that. You do a great job and your style fits your REAL personality. You are open and honest and what you see is what you get. People admire that. I do. :). I’m sure you have helped many woman look and feel their best. Keep doing what you do.

  4. What size do you have in the BOBI Mini Rib Hoodie? Would you suggest sizing up for length? Thanks 🙂

  5. Fun post. I like to see what you wear on a weekly basis. We have been hot here in NW Oregon but going to go down in temps and possible rain for this weekend. Soooo, maybe your weekend will be nice. Lol. We usually have opposite weather. :). I love the treasure and bond striped light weight sweater. Thanks for still styling some skinnies. I’m still trying to get the wider leg to fit. My eye has adjusted but I’m short so just can’t seem to get the length to be right. I did find one pair Cyndi styled that was more a straight cut that already had raw edge so I just cut more off. Always a little nervous to do this on a new pair, but I’ve done it before so worked out. Keep thinking how Fall/Winter is going to be with the new Jean styles…..Shoes/boots don’t work as well. Guess we will need you more. Lol. Have a great day. Suppose to be almost 90 here today.

  6. I love your outfits. We have the same style and proportions, so it helps to see clothing on you first. It is raining and chilly here, and I am wearing the Caslon striped hoodie in pink. I purchased the blue also, and have worn them both a lot! I am also wearing the Paige green joggers and I really like them too. I really like the Treasure and Bond striped sweater, the Old Navy tie dye T-shirt, and am thrilled the Wildfox sweatshirt is still available. I remember trying a couple of times to purchase it, but my size was always sold out. While at the site, I noticed the Loeffler bag back in stock, but not on sale 😐. I will have to keep checking.

  7. These are my favorite blog posts. Thanks for showing a different way style the BR cardigan. Love your style.

  8. Always love these What I Wore posts. Just put those silver tear drop earring in my Nordstrom cart. I have the gold ones and wear them quite a bit. But now that my hair has turned white, the silver will look even better! That tie dye tee caught my eye, but sadly sold out in my size…..great casual inspiration in all the pics!

  9. Clothes certainly look different on different people. I bought that Treasure & Bond tan striped sweater weeks ago when you featured it in a shopping widget. Looked terrible on me- too boxy and the the arms were a weird length. But on YOU it looks super cute! Same with the Agolde Toni- too short on me and the back pockets hung too low on my backside 🤣. However an item that surprised me is the Free People tee you featured (a pink and black design on cream background) – I didn’t think I’d like it on me, but ordered it to try anyway and I love it! I’ve gotten more compliments on that simple tee! 🖤

  10. I actually like that pair of shorts you think is too youthful. But if the exposed pocket bothers you it’s an easy fix for a seamstress (Or a quick diy if you sew). You could shorten the pockets then cut off the excess pocket fabric. It would still leave room in the front pockets for small items (lip gloss, cash, etc) and if you’re like me you could put your phone in the back pocket

    1. Yeah, I never use the front pockets, so I could just cut them, but they don’t bother me much. I won’t be wearing them much beyond the house. 🙂 But that’s a great tip for future reference. Sometimes pockets are visible through white pants, and I have often wanted to cut them out, lol.

  11. Would you be able to wear the Evereve black dress, that you had mentioned wearing over your bathing suit, as a casual weekend or vacation dress? What size did you purchase, it says it runs large.

  12. Hi there! Congrats to the graduate- such an exciting time for you and your family! I loved that time in our boys’ lives.
Question: the Mayari Burks: are they like super comfortable or just OK?
I have never liked the regular style but these are less clunky looking so I was wondering about the comfort.
    Thanks!
    Pam
