Greetings and salutations! I’ll be up and out early today to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and I cannot WAIT! It’s always a fun day, especially now that the girls go with me. They’re looking forward to it almost as much as I am.

I’ll definitely be sharing on my Instagram Story along the way, and tomorrow I hope to have the first round of Dressing Room Selfies ready to share with you. Meanwhile, I’m rounding up my daily outfits from the past few weeks.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops, a 28 or 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. Gifted items are indicated by c/o; everything else I purchased myself.

What I Wore Lately

This outfit is from the Wednesday three weeks ago. I had a photo shoot that morning, and I wore this for the rest of the day. Alison took this picture for me before she left.

I went for a walk that evening, and I snapped a pic since I was wearing new workout clothes.

The next day, I met a friend for breakfast.

That was the weekend my dad was in town, and we went for a morning run/walk together on Friday morning. My face is white from my sunscreen, lol.

After that, we ran some errands before coming back to the house and hanging out by the pool.

The next day was Saturday, and it was overcast and a bit cooler, so we decided to take a day trip out to Lancaster County. I pulled on this yellow tee and my Mother Hustlers in the Au Revoir wash because I love the color combination.

Then I got it in my head to try it with white jeans.

I went back to my closet, planning to swap the white sandals for taupe or beige, and my eyes landed on these turquoise Born slides. I thought I’d give them a try, and I was surprised by how much I like this color combination! This is what I ended up wearing.

Sunday was church, and you may notice I got a new mirror. My last one was warped, so my pictures were getting distorted. This one is much better.

We had a graduation party to attend that evening, and the weather was kind of mild, so I went for a sweater and shorts combo.

Monday was my first appointment with the endodontist because of the pain I’ve been having with hot or cold food or beverage.

The next day, I took the girls to the mall, and I wore a jacket because I’m always cold in the mall.

I had my root canal the next morning, and that afternoon, I had a hair appointment to cover my grey roots. I brought my laptop along with me so I could work while my hair color was setting.

I went back to the endodontist on Friday because the root canal didn’t fix my mouth pain. I didn’t even bother with contacts or makeup.

My tooth issue didn’t get resolved, but that didn’t prevent me from going on vacation. This was my travel outfit for our trip “down the Shore!”

Monday was a little cooler, and it was threatening rain. We went to the beach for a little while in the morning, and then we went to the boardwalk for lunch. This sweater is on major sale, and I love it. Unfortunately, my cute striped canvas bag sold out.

It warmed up on Tuesday, and it was gorgeous for the rest of the week. We spent most of Tuesday on the beach.

That night, we had dinner at the house and then went to the boardwalk for ice cream, and we ended up riding the ferris wheel. That was fun!

Wednesday was the day I spent working on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview post, and I ended up doing the Saks OFF 5TH and Evereve sale posts as well. I don’t even remember what I wore that day.

We went out to dinner that night, and I wore white jeans with this cute pink top from Evereve.

We spent Thursday on the beach again, and I wore the same red swimsuit and white coverup as earlier in the week. I love this for a 4th of July poolside look.

We went out to dinner again that night, and I wore the same white jeans with a different Evereve top. This one is from last year, though, so it’s sold out. I linked it anyway, in case you want the details to search on eBay or Poshmark.

Friday was our last day on the beach, but I didn’t take a picture of my swimsuit that day. That evening, we went to the boardwalk for dinner, and to shop and walk around. I bought Shriver’s fudge and Johnson’s popcorn. #iykyk

And then the next Saturday morning, we left bright and early for home.

I wore this Eileen Fisher dress to church on Sunday. I bought this dress during the 2019 #NSale… it just goes to show how some of my #NSale purchases have been my best investments.

And I think they’re bringing it back!!!! Take a look… it’s not available in the same pretty raspberry color, but the styling looks very similar.

Monday was the 4th, and my 50th birthday party! I debated what to wear, and even ran out to Anthropologie that morning to pick up a beach wrap, in case I decided to wear this swimsuit/sarong combo.

While I was there, I looked around for a special top I could pair with white shorts, but the best I could find was this printed ruffle sleeve tee. I like it, and I’m keeping it, but I wasn’t sure it’s what I wanted to wear for my 50th birthday/4th of July party.

I also picked up a pair of navy linen shorts, thinking they might pair well with this Frame tee for a simple but elevated shorts outfit. I like the shorts, but they have a very high rise, and front-tucking this top didn’t quite look right.

I tried tucking it in all around, but that didn’t work either. All together, I felt like there was too much volume, and it just wasn’t the vibe I was going for.

I also tried that tee with jean shorts. This is a better combo, but it felt too casual for what I wanted, and I’m just not 100% sold on this shirt. I like it from the front, but it’s kind of long in the back, and there’s just too much material or something.

I almost gave up finding something special and just wore what I wore to Anthro, which is this navy top and white shorts. At least it looks 4th of July festive.

But then my eyes landed on that French Connection dress hanging on the rolling rack in my bedroom. I wasn’t sure if I was keeping it or returning it, so it hadn’t made it to my closet yet.

It wasn’t on my radar for my birthday party… maybe for my birthday dinner out with Paul at a French restaurant this coming weekend, or when we go out with friends sometime. I threw it on and went downstairs to see what Paul and the girls thought about it.

And the rest, as they say, is history! They loved it, and while I was afraid it was a little much for our casual gathering, they convinced me to wear it, and I’m glad I did. It definitely made me feel a little bit more like the birthday girl, haha!

I hate my posture in this picture, but it was hard enough to get those balloons lined up right, so this is the best picture we got. 🤪 I actually got two sets of these — my assistant, Amy, sent me a box of cupcakes with silver 50 balloons attached to it, and Becca got me these gold ones. It worked out perfectly because we had a set in the backyard by the pool, and another out front tied to our mailbox.

I kept the bathing suit/beach wrap combo as a backup outfit, thinking I might change into that later on if I decided to go in the pool, but I never did. Everyone went swimming during the first half of the party, and they never went back in after dinner. It will come in handy, though. I was wishing I had one when I was at the beach.

Yesterday was full of appointments, including the endodontist and my chiropractor. (I jacked up my neck again on vacation, and while it was getting better, I went ahead with my appointment.) I just wore these Vuori favorites since they are comfortable.
