2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Fitting Room Try-On Haul

OK, guys! The 2022 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is live online, and I spent half the day yesterday in the dressing room trying on the best in fall sweaters, jeans, and boots! Since then, I’ve been sorting through all the pictures I took, and this is what I have for you so far.

I do have more orders coming in, so I’l have more to show you this weekend, but this is a good start. In the interest of time, I’m just going to post pictures and a few details about each piece underneath. If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer in the comments!

As a reminder, I’ve linked all my 2022 #NSale coverage at the top of the blog, and you can bookmark that page for easy reference. I also have a Nordstrom Looks page with a bunch of easy-to-shop #NSale outfits from all my try-ons. And be sure you’re signed up for my All Things#NSale email list where I send sneak peeks and exclusive #NSale coverage that I don’t post anywhere else!

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and I usually wear a small in tops, a 28 or 29 in jeans, and a size 8 shoe. I’ll do my best to guide you on sizing, but it’s always best to order two sizes if you’re unsure, because popular items don’t stay in stock for long.

2022 #NSale Dressing Room Selfies

1.State Pintuck V-Neck Camisole in Ivory (S) // This is one of those camisoles you can wear with everything — under cardigans, blazers, moto jackets… and it is cute enough to stand alone. It’s double layered, so not at all see-through, and I love the pintuck detail. I bought it in black, evergreen, and this ivory. Fit is TTS (true to size) but a tad snug across the chest, so be aware of that if you are larger on top.

Pistola Monroe High Waist Slim Cigarette Jeans (29) // This is a new denim brand to me, and I like it a lot. They have a lot of styles and washes, and this is a straight crop style with raw step hem. The measurements are 26 1/2″ inseam, 14″ leg opening, 10 3/4″ front rise; and the fabric is 80% cotton, 9% rayon, 9% polyester, 2% elastane. Fit is TTS or size up if in between.

Born Miarra Sandals in Navy (8) // While the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is mostly fall styles, I love how they throw in some wear-now pieces as well, like these Born slides. They have such a comfortable footbed, and the soft leather strap is adjustable. I put these on as soon as I got home and wore them for the rest of the day. I love how the navy looks with denim. Fit is TTS.

KUT from the Kloth Milana Faux Suede Moto Jacket (S) // This soft and stretchy suede moto jacket is the perfect topper for all your fall looks! It comes in four colors, and I’m thinking of going back for the taupe. Fit is TTS.

Veronica Beard Ryleigh High Waist Stretch Slim Straight Leg Jeans (28) // These are a really nice slim straight leg jean in a trendy washed black. The measurements are not on the website, the rise is quite high — probably 11″ or so, but the waist isn’t binding. They have a good amount of stretch and are quite comfortable. Fit is TTS.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandal (7.5) // While it galls me to pay this much for shoes that aren’t leather, I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. That chili color is gorgeous, and I also love the cafe, blush, and ivory. I got the black because I wanted to wear them with black jeans. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Nordstrom Signature Cashmere V-Neck Sweater (S) // I have this in lilac from last winter, so I was super excited to see the camel version in this year’s #NSale. This sweater is super soft and luxe, and it has such a nice drape. It’s 100% cashmere, which is hard to find these days; so many are blended with wool or cotton. The length is 24 1/2″, and it runs true to size with a relaxed fit. In my perfect world, it would have raglan sleeves rather than the dropped shoulder, but that’s not a deal breaker.

Pro Tip: When it comes to cashmere at Nordstrom, you get the best bang for your buck with the Nordstrom Signature line. This is their in-house luxury line, and the quality is fantastic, yet prices are not as high as similar brands like Vince, ATM, and Theory. And of course, the #NSale is the best time to snag some on sale!

Fit is TTS.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandals (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Crewneck Pullover in Purple Dawn (S) // This is another classic cashmere pullover that’s perfect for simple denim/sweater/boots outfits, and it also makes a nice layering piece under jackets. My biggest beef with these two Nordstrom Signature sweaters — and with so many of the sweaters in the #NSale this year — is that dang drop sleeve. It’s a pet peeve of mine; I find it so unflattering, and it makes it a little harder to layer. Despite that, I still brought this sweater home in both colors. (It also comes in a gorgeous light grey heather, which is more of a classic color, if you’re shopping for longevity.) Fit is TTS, and it’s 24 1/2″ long.

Paige Cindy High Waist Straight Leg Jeans (29) // These straight ankle jeans have a really nice medium blue wash with light whiskering and sanding and a trendy chewed hem for a lived-in look. The fabric is 93% cotton, 5% polyester, 2% spandex, so there’s a good bit of stretch, but they don’t bag out. The measurements are 28″ inseam, 14 1/2″ leg opening, 10 1/2″ front rise; and fit is TTS, or size up if in between. I’ve actually had these jeans before in a very similar wash, and I wore them mostly in the summer with sandals, but I’m loving how they pair with booties for fall.

Marc Fisher Urmi Pointed Toe Bootie in Ivory (8.5) // This is such a nice classic pointy toe boot for wearing with dresses or jeans that I ended up bringing them home in both black and ivory. I’m not sure I’ll keep both, but I might! They’re a good price for the quality, and very comfortable. I sized up half for a little more room in the toe box.

Style Tip: White booties are not going anywhere this season! They’re definitely a must-have for the fall season if you like to keep up with the trends.

Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Blend Hoodie (S) // This is another Nordstrom Signature sweater, and another one that has been in their line for some time. I have this exact sweater in taupe from last year’s #NSale, and I wore it a ton last winter. This one is a cashmere blend (the fabric is 89% cashmere, 10% nylon, 1% spandex) but I think it’s actually a thicker and plusher knit than the v-neck above.

Fit is TTS.

Marc Fisher Urmi Pointed Toe Bootie in Black (8.5) // This is such a nice classic pointy toe boot for wearing with dresses or jeans that I ended up bringing them home in both black and ivory. I’m not sure I’ll keep both, but I might! They’re a good price for the quality, and very comfortable. I sized up half for a little more room in the toe box.

Side Note: These boots also come in black suede, but I chose leather because they’re better for messy winter weather. I prefer to purchase waterproof suede, like Blondo or Aquatalia.

Nordstrom Signature Cashmere Cable Crewneck (S) // It’s probably mean to share this set of pictures because I cannot find this sweater online, but I’ll share with you in case it pops up.
I absolutely love this sweater; in fact, it might be my favorite #NSale purchase so far! It is thick and plush and soft, and the cable knit is gorgeous, as is the color. It’s chunky and boxy, for sure, but somehow it works — I think because it is the perfect length for leaving untucked. I also appreciate the generous sleeve length. It runs true to size, and I really hope they get it online soon!

Mother The Hustler Distressed Raw Hem Ankle Jeans (28) // I was thrilled to see these jeans in the online preview, and they did not disappoint. The fit and quality is amazing; they’re soft and stretchy and comfortable, and the cut is so flattering. The fabric is 95% cotton, 4% polyester, 1% elastane; and they have a 28″ inseam, 15″ leg opening, 11″ front rise. These are intended to be ankle-length, by the way. They run TTS, and they’re made in the USA.

Vince Kaye Block Heel Bootie (8) // These are more of a splurge, but the quality is amazing, as you would expect from Vince. The squared-off toe and architectural block heel are right on trend, and they also come in black and ivory leather. I broke my rule about waterproof suede because I love this shade of grey. It works so well with all the pink and lavender that is out right now. They have a 2 1/2″ heel and 6 1/4″ shaft, so they fit well under ankle-length jeans, and they run true to size or maybe a bit big. The 8 is plenty roomy on me.

Side Note: There are tons of low-heeled booties in the #NSale this year, and I’m so happy about that!

Nordstrom Signature Bouclé Cashmere Cardigan (S) // I had my eye on this sweater as soon as I saw them in the online preview, and it’s even more gorgeous in person. I love the colors and the textured bouclé knit, but it’s a tad snug when buttoned-up. My only issue with v-neck cardigans like this is they tend to fall to the sides of my chest. I was hoping I wouldn’t have that issue anymore after my surgery, but clothes don’t fit much differently than they used to. I also think this sweater will look better with a t-shirt than with this camisole. I wore the cami intending to keep the sweater buttoned up. I’m going to try it again here at home, and I’ll keep you posted on how it works for me.

Halogen Absolute Camisole (S) // This is a good basic to have in your closet; I have it in white and black. It’s thin and stretchy, so I usually only wear it under pullover sweaters when I need some coverage, not as a base layer as shown here.

Nordstrom Cashmere Crewneck in Beige Oatmeal Light Heather (S) // This cashmere crewneck is one of those classic sweaters that I purchase almost every year during the #NSale because it’s such a good value for the price point, and it makes a great layering piece. I’m so happy they kept the traditional shoulder seams, and I appreciate the generous sleeve length. It’s true to size, or you can size up for a more relaxed fit.

Mother The Hustler Distressed Raw Hem Ankle Jeans (28) // I was thrilled to see these jeans in the online preview, and they did not disappoint. The fit and quality is amazing; they’re so soft and stretchy and comfortable, and the cut is so flattering. The fabric is 95% cotton, 4% polyester, 1% elastane; and the measurements are 28″ inseam, 15″ leg opening, 11″ front rise. These are intended to be ankle-length, by the way. They run TTS, and they’re made in the USA.

Rails Josie Space Dye Cotton Blend Cardigan (S) // This sweater is really fun and a bit more trendy than most I tried, but I didn’t love it enough to bring it home. I do appreciate those raglan sleeves, though! Maybe I should try it a size up, but it’s too short on me in the small.

Halogen Racerback Cami in Pink Rosebud (S) // This is another fun little cami to have for layering fall or wearing alone this summer. It’s not a neckline I would have ever considered before my surgery, but I’m not able to wear a strapless bra yet. Anyway, if that is not an issue for you, this is a really cute top! It also comes in ivory, black, and olive. (I love the olive for fall!) Fit is true to size.

Frame Le High Raw Hem Ankle Straight Leg Jeans in Westway Grind (28) // These jeans are really good, pretty much the perfect straight ankle jean. The wash is nice too, a bit different than most, but still very versatile. The rise is also lower than some, which I like. Measurements are 28″ inseam; 14″ leg opening; 10 1/2″ front rise. I’m wearing the 28 here, but I need the 29 because they’re tight in the waist, so I’d say fit is TTS or size up if in between.

Born Miarra Sandalsin Navy (8) // These Born slides have such a comfortable footbed, and the soft leather strap is adjustable. I put these on as soon as I got home and wore them for the rest of the day. I love how the navy looks with denim. Fit is TTS.

Vince Shaker Stitch V-Neck Cashmere Cardigan in Coastal (S) // This is a gorgeous, classic 100% cashmere sweater you can have in your closet for years. I love the inky shade of blue. I didn’t get a good picture of it, but it has a really pretty knit detail in the back as well. My issue, again, is with the way these v-neck cardigans fall to the sides of my chest. Maybe I should try sizing up and buttoning it up, as it is shown online. I think it would be too snug worn that way in the small.

And here’s one more for you. My daughter, the ham…

Vince Interlocking Cable Cardigan (S) // This time I did think to try this cardigan buttoned and unbuttoned, and I’m not crazy about it either way, although it’s an absolutely gorgeous knit and I love the color. It’s 50% merino wool, 30% nylon, 20% cashmere. I think I like it better buttoned-up, what about you?

1.State Pintuck V-Neck Camisole in Ivory (S) // This cami is double layered, so not at all see-through, and I love the pintuck detail. I bought it in black, evergreen, and this ivory. Fit is TTS (true to size) but a tad snug across the chest, so be aware of that if you are larger on top.

Vince Wool & Cashmere Crochet Cardigan (S) // This sweater is cute in theory, but it’s shorter than I prefer. I also didn’t love it with the white cami underneath, but I’m not sure what I’d like better. It’s very much on trend, if that’s a factor for you, and it’s a very pretty knit.

Halogen Absolute Camisole (S) // This is a good basic to have in your closet; I have it in white and black. It’s thin and stretchy, so I usually only wear it under sweaters when I need some coverage, like this.

AG Mari High Waist Slim Straight Leg Jeans in 10 Years Highline (28) // I have these jeans in two washes, and this is a really nice medium blue with some exaggerated whiskering at the knees and hips and sandblasting in the thighs. They’re very stretchy and comfortable (91% cotton, 8% polyester, 1% polyurethane) and they have a very slim, straight fit (29″ inseam, 13″ leg opening; 10″ front rise). You might notice, if you compare the measurements, that they’re an inch narrower and an inch longer than the other straight ankle jeans in this post. Fit is TTS.

Sam Edelman Agnes Western Boot in Warm Copper (8) // These boots were a happy surprise! They weren’t on my radar at all until I saw them in the store yesterday. The western details are very on trend this season, and I love this gorgeous shade of warm copper. They’re also remarkably comfortable, and they look great with flares and full length jeans. (I would not wear them with jeans cuffed this way, I just did that for the picture.)

AllSaints Captain Round Leather Crossbody in Sycamore Green // I’ll try to get a better picture of this bag from home, but it’s one of my favorite handbags in this year’s #NSale. In fact, I like all the AllSaints bags in the sale; they really brought their A-game this year. It’s such a pretty leather, and this green color is very much on trend. It also comes in a yellow-tan color, which I like, but I tend to wear cooler tones, and I think the green will go with more of my wardrobe.

Vince Wool & Cashmere Crochet Cardigan (S) // I thought maybe I’d like this cardigan better with lighter jeans and white boots, but I still think it’s too short for me. I also don’t think the crochet is quite my style.

Treasure & Bond Long Sleeve Thermal Knit Top (S) // I love this thermal top! It’s just so easy to throw on with jeans and boots or sneakers. I can see myself wearing this a ton this fall. It will also layer nicely under a utility jackets or leather bomber — both are currently on the way to my house! It runs true to size, or you could size up for a little more wiggle room. I just ordered the black in the medium to compare.

AG Mari High Waist Slim Straight Leg Jeans in 10 Years Highline (28) // These jeans are very stretchy and comfortable (91% cotton, 8% polyester, 1% polyurethane) and they have a very slim, straight fit (29″ inseam, 13″ leg opening; 10″ front rise). I really like the nice medium blue with exaggerated whiskering at the knees and hips and sandblasting in the thighs, and they look great with boots. Fit is TTS.

Sam Edelman Agnes Western Boot in Warm Copper (8) // These boots are remarkably comfortable, and the western details are very on trend this season. I love this gorgeous shade of warm copper, but they also come in black suede and sesame suede. They have a 3 1/2″ heel and a 5 3/4″ shaft, and they run true to size.

Caslon Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Raw Edge Thermal Top (S) // This is another thermal top option, and I like it as well. It’s longer than the Treasure & Bond (above) and the fit is a little more generous.

Madewell Polo Sweater in Heather Bronze (S) // I love the polo sweater trend, mainly because I wear so many pullover sweaters, and this give some some variety. The open neck is flattering, and it’s not too low-cut. It does have that blasted drop-shoulder, though. #bahhumbug I also didn’t love how the banded waist fit on me. As much as I wanted to love this sweater, it missed the mark by enough that I didn’t bring it home.

They work fine with the AG Mari, but I wanted to try them with a wider leg jean, so I threw on the Paige Cindy again. These jeans are an inch shorter and 1 1/2″ wider in the leg opening, and they look even better with the boots, in my opinion, but both work.

1.State Smocked Cuff Long Sleeve Top in Plum Purple (S) // This is a fun little top that’s perfect for transition season. In fact, I’m tempted to get it in the black as well! I typically don’t like voluminous sleeves, so I like how this top allows me to participate in the trend without being too dramatic. It has a flattering v-neck, and it’s 22 1/2″ long. Fit is true to size.

Fit is TTS.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandals (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Halogen Puff Sleeve Square Neck Sweater (S) // Well, this one was disappointing, and not just because there’s so much volume in the sleeves. It fell right off my shoulders! I often have an issue with tank top straps being too long, so I think I just have an extra short chest area or something. It’s probably really cute on some ladies, but it’s not for me. As for the fabric, it’s soft and stretchy and comfortable (53% recycled polyester, 25% wool, 19% acrylic, 3% spandex.) Not the best quality, but good enough for the price point. Fit is TTS.

Nordstrom V-Neck Sweater in Purple Cabbage (S) // This is a fun sweater at a good price point. It’s 24″ long, and the fabric is 53% recycled polyester, 25% wool, 19% acrylic, 3% spandex. The quality is just okay, but I love the double v-neck, and this color is really pretty. It runs true to size, and it also comes in black and a blush pink.

Mother The Insider Crop Fray Step Hem Jeans in Night In Paris (29) // I’m a huge fan of the Mother Insider crop flares, but this pair didn’t excite me. I don’t mind the chewed step hem on casual blue jeans, but for some reason it looks a little too rag-tag for me on the black jeans. This is an amazing light black wash, though. The length is also not my favorite with booties; I think I prefer the extra inch you get in the Hustler. Fit is TTS or size up if in between.

Yes, this is the same outfit, just with the black sweater, but I wanted to put together an all-black look. I like it!

Nordstrom V-Neck Sweater in Black (S) // This is a fun sweater at a good price point. It’s 24″ long, and the fabric is 53% recycled polyester, 25% wool, 19% acrylic, 3% spandex. The quality is just okay, but I love the double v-neck. Fit is true to size.

AllSaints Odette East/West Leather Tote // This is the other #NSale handbag I purchased yesterday, and yes, it’s another AllSaints. (I also ordered the R Minkoff Edie in taupe.) I love this buttery soft, pebbled leather, and I think the wing-like silhouette is so fun. I also really like the raw leather inside; it’s so luxe and chic. This bag also comes in that Palisade Tan, and I like how that one has contrasting black straps, but I was afraid that warm shade of tan wouldn’t complement most of the boots and shoes I own…although it would look great with black boots. Now I’m reconsidering…

Mother The Insider Crop Fray Step Hem Jeans in Night In Paris (29) // Pardon my swollen ankles, this was towards the end of my shopping extravaganza, and I was really feeling 50! I just wanted to show you these Mother Insider crop flares with sandals; I feel like these work a lot better together than these jeans with the black booties.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandal (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Eileen Fisher Sleeveless V-Neck Dress (XS) // I have a similar Eileen Fisher dress I purchased at the 2019 #NSale, and I wear it at least a couple times a month in the summertime, so I was happy to see this one pop up. I just wish that v-neck wasn’t quite so short. This dress is exceptional quality, though, and it’s a classic. Just be sure to size down, if ordering. All Eileen Fisher dresses run big.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandals (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Vince Scoop Neck Tank Dress (S) // I did not expect this dress to work for me, but I absolutely love it! It’s so different from anything I have, and the quality is amazing. I feel like it’s something I won’t wear a lot, but I’ll have it for years, and when I need it, I need it. I plan to wear it to my birthday dinner this weekend… unless I like this one better when it arrives. The neckline is so pretty.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandals (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Caslon Textured Knit Tie Waist Cotton Blend Midi Dress (S) // This dress was another happy surprise! I can hardly ever wear tie waist dresses, but this one fits perfectly. I like the thick, textured knit, and the cut of the sleeves. It will be perfect for transition season.

Dolce Vita Pama Sandals (7.5) // I love the styling on these sandals and the textured block heel, and they come in so many good colors. They’re very comfortable, and fit is TTS, or size down if you typically do in slides.

Vince High Waist Cigarette Pants in Coastal (8) // These are the same gorgeous fabric as my Vince Crop Leggings, but they’re a couple inches longer, and they have a zip fly with button closure. I am wearing the Coastal, which is a very dark navy blue, but they also come in black. These are a classic that you can wear for 10+ years — well worth the investment, especially if you need work wear.

Vince Crop Stretch Cotton Chinos in Deep Laurel (8) // And these are more a more casual option, also by Vince. They’re pricey for chinos, but again, such good quality, and they will never go out of style.

Sorry, but the espadrilles are not part of the sale. I wore them to the store yesterday, and I wanted to see how these pants would look with a loafer style shoe.

I realize this post is woefully devoid of coats and jackets, but I just didn’t get that far. There are definitely some great options in this year’s sale. I also can’t really show you bras and underwear, but they have a lot of good options for those as well. This is the best time to stock up on foundations!

It’s a lot easier to play around with outfit combinations here at home, so when I get my online order in, I’ll definitely do another post with more try-ons and outfit ideas.

I hope this was helpful, if you’re shopping the sale this year. If you have any questions about fit or sizing, I’m happy to answer in the comments! And if you want more #NSale coverage and exclusive info, be sure to sign up for my All Things #NSale email list.

    1. Same here! I thought I was the only one, but don’t find it flattering on any body type and refuse to buy anything with the drop shoulder. 👎

  1. Loved the try-ons! Thank you so much! A question about the Vince chinos. It’s probably just my monitor, but the color you’re wearing looks dark grey, but they’re only offered in a light grey and laurel (which looks brown?). What color are you wearing?

I haven’t added it to my wish list yet, but I’m mulling over the Allsaints tote.

I’m a little disappointed in the measurements on some of the jeans. Knowing the rise is very helpful. I hate to go above 10 1/2. I was interested in the washed black Veronica Beard jeans, but the rise looked pretty high, so I appreciated your estimate that they were probably around an 11″ rise.

I hope that pink cable knit sweater gets added. It’s beautiful! I know it’s because of high rise jeans, but I really hate the trend of super short (19-20″) sweaters/cardigans. Even 21-22″ would be better. I’m just more comfortable with a little more length.

Anyway, lots to look at and ponder. Thank you again! 🙂

  2. Hi Jo-Lynne,

What do you think of the silhouette of the AG Mari jeans? Are they loose fitting enough to be current? I have them on my wish list along with the black version just because I know they will fit but I hope they aren’t too close to skinny fit? Thank you for all of your hard work getting the N-sale suggestions up!

    1. I love them because that slimmer cut through the thigh looks best on me. I think they’re current enough, if that makes sense, lol. I have been wearing them a lot over the past year or so.

  3. Thank you for all the time you took to show us your picks from the NSale.
I have a lot of boots, but if I were to add one more pair from the sale, would you go with a square toe or pointy?

  4. I’m looking forward so seeing jeans in mid rise! Am I the only one who doesn’t understand /can’t wear high waist? I’m 5-3 and short waisted. They look hideous on me! The performer for me is 8-9” tops.

    1. Nope! You are not the only one! I prefer 9 – 9 1/2″, but 10 1/2″ is really the highest I’m willing to go.

    2. I am with you Diana … I am 5ft 1 and well my torso is short – so high rise is out of the question for me – it does not look good on me at all- and it is so disappointing that I can not find pants that fit me right anymore- mostly cause I was NY and Co shopper, from way back when it was Lerners! Jo Lynne, I love your blog and style tips – most of the clothing, pants mostly do not work for me. But I love the tops and just the overall color combo’s. I know Vince Camuto is name brand, but I can not afford these pants even with the sale. Thank you though for all your content. I look forward to your email every day!

      1. Cheers for the 91/2″ rise! I am 5’9″ with long torso and short waisted. Cannot do the high rise. Proportions are key, because 11″ can look great in a photo on someone else with the “right” proportions, but just not suited to others. Thanks for measuring! 🙂

  5. Thank you so much for your efforts! Seeing the clothing on real bodies is very helpful–I had that Madewell polo and the puff sleeve sweater on my wish list, but I don’t think either are going to work for me after seeing them on you. Curious how your feet do in such high heels–post pandemic I have donated all my >2.75″ heels. I suppose I’ve gotten used to my slippers after working from home for so long! Thanks again.

  6. Loved seeing all of your photos! Appreciate all of the time and effort you put into the try-ons and postinf the pics.

My favorites on you are the Caslon dress, VB black jeans, and the Vince chinos. I’m intrigued by them and I’m curious if you are keeping them.

  7. Hi Jo-Lynne, thanks so much for all the previews. There isn’t a Nordstrom in our area, so I have only shopped in the stores occasionally when out-of-town. However, I always seem to find that it is difficult to find any offerings in petite? Particularly in the sweaters & tops, you prefer their longer sleeve lengths, but I am 3″ shorter height. Do they carry any petites in Nordstrom brands?

  8. Wow!!!!!! Thanks for all your hard work. This was a fun post. It is so helpful to see them on a person. I wish they wouldn’t do so many 11″ rises on jeans. I like 10-101/2″ at the most. Plus, I wish there were more jeans without chewed hem. I like the cut off fray okay but not the chew or step. In the Winter we are casual at our church and I like to wear jeans with nice sweater and booties and I don’t feel comfortable at my age with the more worn looking jeans. I like the AG Mari but the length is long for me. I’d probably need them hemmed. Lots of good finds for you.

      1. Yes….. that’s right. I could use 2 more inches in height and I’d be good to go. Lol. Can’t wait to see more outfit combos to come. Your blog really is fun and something to look forward too. You do a great job for sure.

  9. Great post! I love the two cable knit sweaters (in pink and the grey button cardi). Since I love Irish cableknits, these are very comparable and more comfortable since they are not 100% wool. I have been wearing my cardigans buttoned up more, like a top. I am also interested in the new Pistola denim. I hope to fun over to my local Nordstrom’s on Saturday morning. Wish me luck!! 🙂

  10. Hi, did you happen to see the Kendra Scott Gold Golden Obsidian earrings? Are they black or brown stone? I purchased the black and gold necklace last year and have these in my wish list but hoping they are black stone.

  11. I clicked on several items in you post here that I thought looked cute, but when I went to the link, it didn’t look so cute on the model. I have noticed this before and can’t figure out what it is, but it seems like tops are too droopy and jeans are too tight on the models. Also, the lighting in your photos doesn’t make the colors look as washed out as the model does. Thank you for giving a different (better) view of the clothes. I agree on the dropped sleeves; I am pear shaped with narrow shoulders and a small bust so this makes me look sloppy.

PS I turned 50 a couple of months ago. What’s really scary is that age 30 to 50 went so fast, which means 50 to 70 will go even faster. : 0

    1. I agree, Becky! The model phptos on the Nordstrom site look washed out, kind of. I wonder if it’s because they shoot the photos in bright light? So details are lost?

  12. Question regarding boots going into fall winter…..are the tall riding boots with dresses out??? I love to wear dresses a couple times a week to work……..but living in Upper MIchigan………I look silly with bear legs and a dress………..like who is that 60 year old woman trying to impress!!!! LOL

    1. They are not out, I saw quite a few, but I didn’t try any. I just wasn’t feeling it. I guess b/c I don’t wear a lot of dresses, but I should have tried them so I culd report back. I may go back tomorrow and see what I find, but I’m sure it will be a zoo. I need to try some coats too.

  13. You must be exhausted 😴. So fun to see Caroline. Thank you for sharing all your hard work. Have a great rest of the summer

  14. What a great post Jo-Lynne! Lots of jeans to choose from. I like the pink camisole with the navy sweater. I also like the Caslon midi dress on you. Thanks for the chino pants review. I am very fond lately of pants that I don’t feel like I am stuffed into a sausage when I wear some of my tight jeans! I am a size two, but starting to go in another direction as far as the comfort of pants that are a little looser. .Ha ha.
Too many things to mention that look so great on you.
Did I miss the latest update on your tooth??? I hope you’re feeling better, but what did they figure out was going on with the pain you were feeling?

  15. Jolynne, Thanks for your detailed posts as always. I want some of the AG jeans and your comments on them are so helpful. I just love you in the purple 1.State top. I bought that one last year in a wine color and it’s so flattering. I also love the Allsaints green bag and sam edelman boots as my fav picks so far! I have to caution you on the Rebecca Minkoff bag. She is a designer that I have several bags of, but I have the edie in a nude color and the grommets that the chain strap goes through became loose and slid out of hole! I’m generally careful with my bags so this may be a quality issue. Be careful with that bag, I worry you may have the same issue.

  16. I love the v-neck pleated dress that you have coming to you! I added the Caslon thermal top to my wish list, which is much larger than I ever expected it would be. Of course, if I’m able to order everything, I don’t have to keep it all. 😉

  17. Ooohhh….I love so many things, but especially the Born slides and the Sam Edelman western boots (can you tell I love shoes??)! Those AG Mari jeans are beautiful too, and so is the tie-waist dress.

  18. Love the post, the sale is so much better this year !! Wondering if you’ve seen the Frame Le Crop Mini Boot Raw Hem jeans ? Or the Paige Colette Raw Hem Crop ? They both have a lower rise. Some of the Rebecca Minkoff bags are well priced also.

  19. Thanks for all the time & effort you put into the Nordstrom sale posts. I find them extremely helpful. I’m not loving the super high rise jeans. 11” is just too high for me. i think I. Going to buy the camisole with pin tucks. It was helpful to read about the different ways I can wear it.
