It’s Day 17 of 26 Days of Fall Outfits, and today I have a casual outfit that I turned up a notch with a statement necklace.
These plum skinny jeans are old, but the Textured Dolman Tee is currently available at LOFT. I love this silhouette, and they have a few versions of it. This grey colorblock dolman tee is very similar (I might even like it better than mine!) And they have this one in red, olive and navy.
Their Fall Favorites are 40% off right now, so it’s a great time to pick up a few extra pieces to add to your fall wardrobe. Unfortunately my dolman tee isn’t part of the sale, but this Flight Jacket is ADORABLE, and this grey Knit Pencil Skirt has a lot of potential. This Sweatshirt Tee looks super cute and easy to wear, and this Split Neck Peasant Top would be really cute with black ponte pants or flared jeans. But I digress… Back to today’s outfit!
I love this top because it’s a blank canvas. The accessorizing possibilities are virtually endless, and pairs nicely with everything from blue jeans to black ponte pants to white jeans to colored denim. I really like the contrast of the grey and plum.
Here’s a view from the back.
The necklace is a Stella & Dot piece, and I’ve only worn it once before. I always feel like it’s going to be too much, but once I have it on and see it in pictures, it doesn’t seem nearly so bold. Because it has so many colors in it, it can go with many things, and you can take certain strands off to get just sparkle, only mixed metal, or all of the above. You can also choose to wear it short or long. I should have modeled all the variations. Oooops! I don’t think of these things until I go to write up a post.
I photographed this outfit first with my moto style ankle boots. These are super comfortable, and I usually wear them with my Abeo orthotics for even more cushion and support. (I believe these are the ones I have. They’re pretty versatile.) These are the Tara Tiffany ankle boot from The Walking Company. The Tara Tori is their updated version.
Here’s the back view.
I liked the outfit with these boots, but I wasn’t sure if they were dressy enough with the necklace. I decided to try my riding boots to compare. I like this a lot.
These boots are a little dressier, which I think works well off the necklace.
The gold hardware on the boots is nice too, in that it pulls the gold out of the necklace. You can see that better from behind.
I think I like the outfit with this necklace best with the riding boots, but I might try it the outfit with the ankle boots and silver accessories and next time. I also think this grey top with the statement necklace, riding boots and my black ponte skinny pants would be a great look for going out to dinner. So many possiblities!
