I decided to do another combo post since I already posted a slew of my own photos yesterday for Fashion Friday. I do hope these daily style posts aren’t getting to be Jo-Lynne overload!
Yesterday, I had a lunch date as well as dinner plans, and a little stint in my daughter’s classroom in between, so I wanted to look nice, but I still needed my outfit to be practical. Plus, I needed to be able to put a coat over it because it’s in the single digits here.
This is what I came up with. And pardon the crazy bright afternoon sun in my face. I suppose I can’t complain. It may be 2 degrees, but at least the sun is shining!
I ordered this sweater after Christmas on Ann Taylor’s mega clearance sale. It’s such a great wardrobe staple. The necklace is a spontaneous J.Crew Outlet purchase from a few years back. It definitely comes in handy from time to time! I like how it makes a statement without being too blingy for daytime.
I was tired of wearing the same jeans and black pants, so I pulled out these tan moto-style jeans to wear for a change. They were also a sale item and no longer available, but I will link to similar pieces below. Finally, I get to wear my Frye boots since I’m no longer confined to that awful foot brace. WOOT!
And since you’ve asked to see coats sometimes, I decided it was time to ramp up my outerwear wardrobe. All of my coats are black and grey, so I’ve been wanting something in a bold color. I’m always drawn to red, so when I spotted this double breasted peacoat at Nordstrom for 50% off, I snagged it!
I will try to remember to get a picture of the back next time. It’s so cute!

As for today, I’m working all day, and it’s snowing, so it I decided I could justify spending a day in my favorite sweats. See? Here I am at my desk, typing away. HELLO!
I’m wearing my new pink Zella tunic again, this time with my Nike yoga pants and Mizunos. Even still, I chose the sneakers with the hint of pink detail to match my top. It’s the little things, ya know!?

Congrats on being able to wear your Frye boots! I know it would drive me nuts to not be able to wear my new or favorite boots (or shoes or sandals, depending on the season.) Love the red peacoat. I got one for Christmas two Christmases ago and I love the bright splash of color.
Yes, it was so sad. I just bought them in September, and by December I was back in that brace. Hopefully I’m done with that for GOOD!
I love your blog! Its so fun to get them daily for ideas, I’m in the winter rut of “what am I going to wear today” Your daily emails are like a friend saying “good morning” everyday! I love it!
Aw, thanks! That is so nice to hear. I will tell you, these posts are the ONLY reason I have gotten dressed more than 2x a week this month. It’s been hard, but once I do it, I’m so glad I did.
Ahhh, so we’re your support group. Lol It does feel nice to put that extra effort into getting dressed, if only to run errands or meet a friend for coffee. I love bright colours on you.
Thank! 🙂 I do enjoy bright colors. And yes, I guess you ARE my support group! Ha!
